- I got a chance to work on my buddy Michael's MK7 GTI and put on a Wagner Intercooler upgrade to maximize efficiency. This was a great learning opportunity and was allot of fun. Enjoy!

Im contemplating fitting mine on my own soon. I would have found seeing the cutting of the air ducting useful. The instruction booklet is vague to say the least. They assume you are used to pulling VAG cars apart

The worst place to get to the intercooler. Should be like 1/2 hour job but due to its complex location it takes 4 to 5 hours to take off the entire front of the car.
It took us between 2 and 3 hours. It was a 25 minute job on my Evo. LOL
@@ImJibby exactly, should not be this difficult. These are bolt ONS upgrades and should not take removing the entire front assembly off.
u disconnect the ac condenser? does that still work?

No trimming required.
Is a down pipe requirement when replacing intercooler im running a bone stock 2.0 t just looking for better breathing intercooler
Nope. Only thing that requires a downpipe is most stage 2 tunes.
Yes, OTS tune. It’s a custom tune when it’s done through a custom tuner...someone who looks at your logs, changes parameters, sends a file, repeat. You’re still using a Cobb tune. It’s still OTS
It is hard to get used to since most people only custom tune Evos (my platform).

You have it backwards: a quality intercooler upgrade is critical for any tuned VW/Audi.
The engine, turbo and car will all benefit from a larger, higher flowing I/C, regardless of stock tune and boost vs tuned increase.
I’m in TX, anywhere south of Maryland it gets hot enough that even a stock (untuned) car benefits greatly from the IC upgrade. 👍 😎
