- The @CZfirearmsOfficial P07 is one of my all-time favorite "compact" pistols. Whether a handgun is a good fit or not is so subjective. All personal preference really. This P07 is now perfect - for me. I look forward to your comments. If you enjoy my videos, please click on the like and subscribe buttons. It does help the channel a whole lot.

I bought a new CZ-P07 a few weeks ago. Two days ago I was finally able to find some time to field strip it to prepare it for its first trip to the range. While removing the recoil spring assembly it flew apart on me. The cap at the back of the guide rod had ejected allowing the spring to suddenly uncoil. I called CZ. They are sending a replacement recoil spring assembly. Then yesterday, I came across a You Tube video where the person said the CZ-P07 should not be dry fired. I couldn't find anything about this in the manual so I searched on You Tube under ``CZ-P07 dry fire'' and found videos on the problem with the firing pin retaining pin. It seems the firing pin eventually can cause enough damage to the retaining pin that it causes the pistol to malfunction. The recommended remedy is a replacement pin from Cajun Gun Works or CZ Custom. The latter is solid steel. It seems this pin would eventually cause damage to the firing pin which is probably why CZ went with the roll pin to begin with. The Cajun Gun Works design is a slotted pin. I ordered that. Among these videos is also a good video on how to safely dry fire a CZ-P07: Place part of a foam earplug over the back of the firing pin protruding from the slide. This is better than using a snap cap since the snap cap ejects when you cycle the slide. Looking forward to finally getting the CZ-P07 out to the range. Thanks for the great videos!
Wow. That is great information. Thank you so much for sharing. I’ve been using a snap cap but perhaps I will change to the method you suggest. After I fixed the guide rod I’ve had zero problems with it.
@@MDpolo You're welcome.
@@MDpolo I thought I would get back to you on the dry firing solution I mentioned in my previous reply. Half of a foam earplug over the firing pin works well, but another solution suggested in a few videos on You Tube is to place a number 83 rubber o-ring around the firing pin where it protrudes from the slide. You can get a box of 10 from Home Depot for about $2.50. I personally like this solution better. Looking forward to your next video!
Thank you for sharing this helpful information. I appreciate it very much.
@@MDpolo You're welcome.
I love the P07. It's been my carry for 2 years now. I have done a custom stippling job to severely increase the friction provided by the frame. I also raised the cut off point where the texture ends as I like that to be higher.
I'm preparing to send it off to get the slide milled for an optic and add 2 of the +2 baseplates because I've currently got 3 mags and want to keep 1 flush for CC
Sounds like a sweet set up. One of my favorite pistols. Thank you very much for watching!
Great Gun, Mine is tricked out just like I like it. I see you had a Gun range warrior up in your business! 😂 Carry On
😂 he’s a good friend of mine. We often shoot together. He does like to pop in when I am filming from time to time. I love what you did to your P07. Thank you for watching!
thanks for this video. ive been searching for what optic to have milled on the p07 and im glad to see that the 407c looks great on your pistol and found out that the dimensions are exactly the same as my 508t! thank you for that confirmation. great job on the very elegant choices of upgrades :) cheers on the new year!
The Swampfox Sentinel fits perfectly as well and I prefer it over the Holosun. For whatever that’s worth. Thank you very much and happy new year!
Thanks for the video. Def my next gun with similar upgrades. Love that gun!!!
So do I! Thank you for watching!
i had the slide for my p07 milled for the 507k & cerakoted in gray. i didn't have a rear sight dovetail milled into the slide. i use the notch on the rear of the red dot to co witness with the front sight. i installed the m carbo spring kit & polished the internals. right now it has a rubberized talon grip on it. i am wanting to get the frame professionally stippled. then it will be perfect for me. awesome review.
Sounds like a sweet set up! I would love to see a photo of it. Thank you very much for watching.
Have a P-07 Duty built in 2009. Only change I've made is the hammer spring. Great pistol.
Nice, well executed package.
Thank you very much. I appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Thats one sweet rig ya got yourself right there!
Thank you very much! I’m happy with it. I appreciate you taking the time to watch.
Great review!nice looking tool!
Thank you very much! Thanks for watching.
I love my P07 (I got the +2 base plates in the box) I swapped out the polymer guide rod and spring with the DPM triple spring progressive guide rod system to reduce Recoil, makes the pistol a little bit harder to rack the slide but works.
DPM sure makes nice products. Thank you very much for watching.
Firstly i like yo thank you for the nice video. My P07 is still the way i found it, though i am planning to add light. Cz p07 is performing perfectly fine. I love the power of it. It will never let you down, it doesn't malfunction at all. I can shoot 1000 rounds without any problem snd it feels good in my hands. I carry it concealed _24/7_ my EDC...
You are very welcome. This is a workhorse and I absolutely love it and I would never sell it. Thank you very much for watching.
Nice man Iove your video I own a p10c but I have been eyeing this one
Thank you very much for watching and for your kind words.
CZs are excellent tools. Steyr also 2 of my favorite lightning hammers..thanks for the vdeo...
You are welcome. Thank you for taking the time to watch. The Steyr M9 He’s one of my favorite polymer pistols.
I enjoyed this video. I will be doing yet ANOTHER video on the P07 but with a twist. Hope you're still enjoying it a year later.
One of my all-time favorites! Thank you very much for stopping by.
Thanks man. Looks great. Waiting to send mine to Cajun. They just did the E conversion on my 97 BD. Awesome! Would’ve liked to hear about the DA pull with the upgrade.
The DA went down to 8 lbs. Thank you very much for watching and taking the time to comment.
It’s a great pistol. I replaced the spring in it to lighten up the double action pull. I purchased them from mcarbo $20 bucks and it helped a lot. I also have the cz 22lr conversion kit and it works great. Good video.
I love it. Thank you very much for your kind words and for watching!
I also did the mcarbo spring kit but did not replace the sear spring. This is my favorite pistol and the one I would turn to if I had to fight for my life.
Sick
Finally got the CZ-P07 to the range. Fantastic pistol! Smooth and accurate!
It sure is! I’m glad you’re enjoying it. Thank you for watching!

CZ-P07 Gen2 Cajun gun works Defensive spring kit, w/extended firing pin, CZ-USA Customs front red fiber optic sight, Blacked out serrated rear sight, plus solid steel firing roll pin. Last complete trigger polish job .My every day carry with the plus 2 base plate.
That sounds like a sweet package. Thank you for watching and for sharing.
Love my p07
+Master Shredder I love mine as well. Thank you for watching!
Nice one
Thank you.
P07 with Dawson Precision sights I love it it's my every second of every day gun. I also 97b and love it also and hopefully they come out with a 10 mm slide conversion.
I was looking at a 97B at the store day before yesterday. Almost got it... A 10 mm would be fantastic! Thank you very much for watching.
That would be pretty damn awesome if they came out with a 10 mm conversion or just a 10 mm version of this gun, I’d be all over that!
Me too!
I Just purchased this gun last week. I got the tactical version, so it came with threaded barrel, supressor height sights and the works. I really love it. I won't be having mine milled for optics, but I did put a surefire up front for illumination. Been carrying it all week and I love it so far!
Congratulations. That’s a sweet set up. I looked at the tactical version, but decided on the regular version since I’m not gonna shoot it suppressed. Thank you very much for watching and taking the time to comment.
@@MDpolo I love it. And it even gets round the clock duty because at night I pull it out of my holster, pair it up with a suppressor, and use it as my nightstand gun.
Fantastic!
Considering (only considering) parting with my SP2022 to get either a P07 or P09. I’d probably get it through Cajun Gun Works with their complete rework.
Do you think the 07 with upgraded base plates is a smarter move than the 09? I suppose it’s a battle between barrel length, balance and overall capacity; A P09 with a +5 baseplate is crazy, but possible.
With the P07 I’m assuming it’s more appropriate for carry, but I don’t really see myself doing that. I’m thinking home defense or long-distance ground trips.
Thoughts and input appreciated. Great pistol you have there. If you’re familiar with the SP2022, share your thoughts as well. It’s a sweetheart of a gun, and might make the above idea a terrible one altogether.
I loved mine straight out of the box although I did put a McCarbo trigger kit in it....Absolutely love it
I’ve gotten so many comments about the McCarbo trigger kits. It almost makes me want to purchase a second P07 just to try it out. Thank you for watching.
It was worth the effort for sure.
DPM recoil spring and rod, CGW internal spring and trigger kit, Talon rubber decal grips and lots of ammo. One of my favorite light weight pistols, second only to my Sphinx SDP Compact.
Love the Sphinx. Thank you very much for watching!
@@MDpolo my pleasure, thanks for the great video.
You are welcome!
May want to check your captured guide rod and spring. Mine came from the factory loose. Began to protrude from the front of the slide like yours seems to be?? Couldn’t tell for sure on your video. Sweet pistol👍. Sorry. I should have read through your comments. I see you had the same issue as I did.
Yes. All fixed. The screw at the end was loose. Thank you for watching.
Great vid. I own one in the OD Green. Yours is a real beaut! I’m waiting until 1,000 rounds before I make any trigger decisions. I love the tough pull on the double action, good safety feature for appendix, but u do need some time getting used to the double/single action if only shooting striker fired pistolas…. OMG do ammo prices suck!!
It is wise to wait 1000 rounds before making a trigger decision. I did it right away because I wanted to try it and for the channel. Ammo prices are ridiculous still. Although finding ammo is no longer a problem, we are still paying almost $38 for a box of 50 rounds of range ammo. Ridiculous. Thank you very much for watching.
I have one also in od green, and I ordered the trigger kit from m carbo, u can really feel the difference, trigger is a lot lighter specially the da pull. I saw a couple of you tube videos saying that the Cajun works trigger kit was not worth buying, since it costs like 200 + dollars. M. Carbo worked for me!
Well gee, not much of detailed shooting impressions. And that dry fire trigger, reset and single action distance to the wall - for a hot rod trigger was less effective than any of my stock Sig Sauer p226, p239, p224 and even my P6 standard Short Reset Triggers. I just added a CZ P-09 with suppressor barrel, tall night sights 2 - 21 Rd magazines to my fleet.
Its the most accurate bullseye pistol stock out of the box I've shot in 60 years of shooting . Phenomenal. I'll be selling my P99 AS FE and P227 .45 to make room in the sock drawer🤣. Thank you CZ.
Back watching this video cause I just ordered my first CZ and it’s the P07. How ever I did order a P01 last late October but they currently on back order still and on the waiting list so I went with the P07.
Very good choice! I love the P07. Thank you very much for stopping by.
Carry one for work, company firearm, love it so much, so bought myself one, waiting for license. My wife shot with it once, now she also wants one. Really great weapon and what I really love is that the PO9 mags will work on the PO7.
What kind of holster you using I cant find one for my p07?
@@maximus-hl9jw yeah I'm looking for owb holster as I dont have a ccw license. Its impossible to find one for this pistol.
They are awesome. Thank you very much for watching!
When I carry this pistol I carry it outside the waistband and always in a 1791 Gunleather holster. Thank you very much for watching!
@Edward Duran see my comment below. 1791 Gunleather holster.
I have a CZ P-07 9mm it has the +2 mag extension and threaded barrel I have added a talon grip and the slide I'd getting milled for a holosun green dot sight and an olight valkyrie turbo light
Sounds like a sweet set up! Thank you so much for stopping by.
I've only added the inforce aplc to mine and switched to the manual safety, but I plan to add some stippling and a red dot as well. Eventually I wanna replace it with my xds for appendix carry so will probably switch back to the decocker
So your reason for switching to a manual safety was for appendix carry?
@@MDpolo currently my IDPA/nightstand gun so I switched to the manual safety as many have stated the trigger is better with the safety. When I start carrying it appendix I will switch back to the decocker though for the added safety of the double action
Is the difference between the safety and the decocker that noticeable?
@@MDpolo I don't know. Never shot it with the decocker lol
My po7 is the same as the day I got it.
I installed the decocker and an M-Carbo spring kit. Would like to mill for the Halosun
ZR Tactical Solutions did the work on my P07. He does a fantastic work. Thank you very much for watching!
My pops loves his. He just got a rami cz 75
The RAMI is a very nice pistol. Thank you very much for watching.
My pistol of choice as well. I added a mcarbo kit on it as well and it shoots like a dream. I actually have the same olight mini light on it to
Sounds like a good set up. I’ve heard many people talk about the Mcarbo kit. I’m thinking about getting a second P07 just to try that kid out. Thank you for watching!
@@MDpolo its well worth it my friend., you wont be disappointed. I even installed it myself being a beginner at the time.
@@MDpolo curious if you ever got that mcarbo kit? and do you know why they have stippling on the front of the trigger guard?
I have not experimented with it. 1776 or Bust really likes their products. The stippling in front of the trigger guard as for the people that shoot with the index finger of their support hand wrapped around the trigger guard for recoil leverage.
I didn't know zr tactical does stippling. I have used them for night sight installs on a couple of occasions.
@Bernard Caillouet He can do pretty much anything you need to a handgun, rifle or shotgun. Thank you very much for stopping by.
Noce pistol
Thank you very much.
If you had to reorder the front sight, which one would you get without having to file it down to cowitness? I have a similar set up on my P07, rear iron sight in front of the optic.
Let me try to get a hold of my gunsmith and see if he remembers.
Could you please tell me where you got your slide cut for your Optics
+Nate Hahn ZR Tactical out of Noblesville Indiana. He does all my gun work. Fantastic shop.
Hello, how did you install the HOLOSUN HS407C in the CZ P07, since it does not bring red dot ?
I had a ZR Tactical Solutions in Noblesville Indiana cut the slide to accept the optic.
Yo a fellow hoosier, how much did the slide cut and trigger install cost from zrts?
Hello fellow Hoosier. $140 I believe. Not sure if his prices have change. Very short turnaround and great work.
I have a CzPO1 with a trigger job. Would like to get a PO7 and do the same setup minus the stippling. But can find them anywhere.
I’ve seen P07‘s for sale on a local gun web classifieds, armslist, etc. Also, I feel have gone through gunbroker.com. Good luck finding one. Thank you for watching.
@@MDpolo So I found a P07 and bought it. Should be here Tuesday. And I am planning on sending it to the same place to do the millwork. Is there a certain cut that you asked for when it comes to a RMR did you have to tell them which one you will be using in order for them to do that cut correctly.
Also here’s a website where I get my trigger stuff from. It made a huge difference on my P01 and plan to do the same for my PO7. www.mcarbo.com/?OFF%20-%20Merry%20Christmas%20Brotherhood%21%20%20Sale%20Ends%20Sunday%20at%20Midnight%28EST%29%21&All%20M%2ACARBO%20Customers&_ke=eyJrbF9lbWFpbCI6ICJ0cmViby4wMTI1QGdtYWlsLmNvbSIsICJrbF9jb21wYW55X2lkIjogIkpTWUE5OSJ9
Call ZR Tactical and please Mention to him that I referred you. I got zero money from him or compensation but it’s good for him to know. Just tell him which optic you plan on using and whether you want the rear sight in front or behind the optic. That’s your choice and he’ll know exactly what to do and how deep to cut it. Don’t worry about that.
Where did you get your slide cut for micro
ZR Tactical Solutions in Noblesville Indiana. He does all my mods.
Nice setup...
Please share a video with the red dot on too
Thank you for watching!
MDpolo when and where did you get the +2 base plate for your mags? I have had them on back order for over 2 months from CZ with no delivery in sight, what gives?
I’ve had it for about two years. I’m not surprised they are in back order. I got it from ZR tactical solutions in Noblesville Indiana. Give him a call, he might have some. Thank you for watching!
I found one right away also in August but I cannot remember the website
Hey there, I contacted CZ company and they said they didn’t have a po7 model that took a red dot. What red dot and mounting plate are you using? I’ve always like the Po7, but never got one because I like to put red dots on my handguns.
As I mentioned in the video, I had my P07 milled for the red dot. Thank you very much for watching!
Nice gun, the trigger reset seem close to factory
I don’t remember what the factory felt like. Perhaps you’re right, but now it is so smooth and crisp. Just a pleasure to shoot. Thank you for watching.
What did slide milling for the 407c cost?
It was done locally and I think it was $140.
Two po7s, one being upgraded as we speak!
That’s awesome. Congratulations! Thank you very much for watching.
Hey my CZ is the same set up. Do you now know which front sight to get with that rear sight? I've been looking around and its hard to find data on it.
I can’t remember the measurements. All the work was done by ZR Tactical Solutions at Noblesville Indiana. If you contact him, perhaps you can share that info with you. Thank you very much for stopping by.
What red dot and who milled it for ya?!? I'm about to get me one and so what it like that.
Holosun 407c and it was killed by ZR Tactical Solutions. I have a video on it. Thank you for watching.
I have to ask do u carry this gun with the attachments if so what holster do you use im ordering the same sight n light
I do not carry it with a light. When I carry this pistol, has always been outside the waistband and always in a 1791, Gunleather holster. They make fantastic leather holsters. Thank you very much for watching.
I had a PO9 with the high sights, suppressor ready, extended mag with same light, got a kydex holster made by Ping Pong Tactical, they are a holster franchise I believe so look for one in your area.
Thank you very much for the info!
Where did you send your p07 to get the slide cut and how long did it take to come back, I have a p07 and want the same thing done
90% of the work that I do on all my guns is done at ZR Tactical Solutions in Noblesville Indiana. He does very accurate and high-quality work. It took two days. But I’m local so I didn’t have to factor in shipping time. I don’t get any compensation from him but please let him know that I sent you if you end up using his services. It’s always good for them to know. Many thanks!
@@MDpolo will do thank you sir
What made you decide to mount the rear sight in front of the optic?
So we can mount the optic as far back as possible. Thank you for watching.
He said it right in the video
What was the initial cost of the p07 and final cost after all upgrades?
I don’t remember off the top of my head to be completely honest with you. However, I have another video where I compare the P07 to the Phoenix Fusion And if I recall correctly, in that video I give the breakdown of the cost of the P07 build. Thank you very much for watching!
I have a CZ PO9 Tactical which already includes suppressor ready with high sights and extended mag, I wanted to get it milled for a optic and my gun smith said it could not be done with it being hammer fired and CZ low profile inside the rails slide, WTF? Obviously if it works on your P07 it would work on my PO9
It absolutely would work for your P09. I’m sorry, but find a gunsmith that knows what he’s talking about. You can also ship your pistol to ZR Tactical and he’ll do it pretty quickly and reasonably. Thank you for watching.

Was wondering the same thing myself.
@Franco Stacy I use ZR Tactical in Noblesville Indiana. He is a true craftsman. Give him a call, tell him what you’re thinking about and he’ll give you a quote. Please don’t hold me to this because I don’t know if his pricing has changed, but I believe it’s about $150 more or less but his work is fantastic. Also his turnaround time is quite short compared to what I’ve heard in the industry. If you call him, please tell him that I sent you. I don’t get any money from him or any sort of compensation, but it’s always good that he knows where a referral came from. Please let me know if you decide to do it and how you like it. Do you have an optic in mind for it? You have to decide what optic you’re going to mount because the slide will be cut for that optic. I would not have any hesitation to do it nor would I worry about it. I’ve had him cut several of my pistols and they all work perfectly thank you very much for watching!
@Spongeworthy please see the comment above. Thank you very much for watching!
Hey dude egw plate or deuck defense. Look it up replaces rear sight
Has anyone tried springer precision for a dovetail red mount? I’m looking into them
I have but I’m not a fan. It might be a good option if you don’t want to mill your slide. However, I find that in place of the red dot just too high above the slide for my liking. It might work for you. Thank you for watching.
@@MDpolo thanks for the reply! I really don’t wanna mill it out but only because of price point and I have never sent my firearm anywhere through the mail I’m gonna check locally. Thank you!!!

@@MDpolo okay thanks! I’ll check them out, I appreciate it!

Optics in front or back of the sight? Which is better?
Entirely your choice. The theory behind mounting them in front of the optic is that it allows you to bring the red dot further back on the slide and closer to your eye. Does it make that big of a difference? I don’t think so. Personal preference. Thank you very much for watching.

I do not carry this pistol with the light attached. I put the light on when I’m at home. For that I just put it in a Bulldog soft holster. I believe that’s the name, I’ll have to look for it. It’s like a Sticky Holster but it has Velcro so you can expand it or make it smaller depending on the pistol or the attachments you have.
@@MDpolo thanks so much for the information. I have a couple of holsters that l use for appendix carry with my P07 my Hawg which is very comfortable and secure on my belt with the Uniclip Ultra II. I also have a Green Mountain Tactical which uses belt loops so it doesn’t quite get as tight on the belt as the Hawg but with it once it is on you have a little more room for adjustability while wearing it.
I’m always interested to learn what holsters people use. My go to holsters for inside the waistband are Harry’s Holsters and Phalanx Concealment. For outside the waistband I only use 1791 Gunleather. I have wanted a PO7 for years but so far haven't bought one. If Trump is reelected I will buy it finally. Sort of my reward to myself. Thank you for an excellent video. Think I will send it to Cajun Gunworks too. That stippling looks great and I live in Indiana. You said TZ Tactical in Noblesville? Thanks again.
I bought my p07 earlier this year, after many years of being in love! Haven't began to build it yet, but plan on doing a similar set up to this. Its well worth the price, and the best entry level non-Glock in my opinion.
Why the hell would you only buy your dream gun based on a politician’s election chances! Go out there and get that puppy because you’ve desired it for years and you’re not getting any younger!
I haven't bought a PO7 because of Sig 365s Smith and Wesson Shields and numerous other guns that seemed more practical at the time. Truth is I don't need a PO7 as much as I think I need others.
