I see that boostedboiz Tee as well. Love how you do all of this in depth and personal videos for the audience. Absolutely awesome
Thanks! It's fun making the videos. LOL, I'm sure I'll be buying another with the giveaway going on. Same for Cleetus' channle and 1320.
That’s complex man! Keep up the grind brother!
Thanks! It sure is not that I'm diving into wiring everything.
Good video Matt, I love how you did the wiring diagram. A good tip is to share the crank signal with the stock ecu and ft550. Without crank signal to the stock ecu the electronic power steering may not work. You cannot share signals for water temp and air temp to both ecu's but the crank signal is one of the signals that you can share.
Great point! The power steering has definitely been a concern and I have no idea whether it's RPM signal from the ECU that activates it or what. I'm sure I may have to dig into that more if it's not the RPM or crank signal.
Great work on that wiring diagram. Extremely helpful. Would be really cool if more ECU sellers made something like that. They layers to view each system are big headache savers. An ECU company could even make something like that as a PDF with a clickable sections page at the beginning.
I'm decent at 3D modeling and 3D printing so if you want help with something I'm down to try. Can be a lot of trial and error but there are ways to add wiggle room to a design if it's not quite perfect haha.
I agree. Should be something they have built into their software.
That would be awesome and could help you with some $$$ for time and expenses. LOL, always can build some wiggle room into the mounting tabs. I'll get with you and see what we can come up with. I'm okay at 3D stuff, but always have to put a lot time into refreshing myself on it as it's not something I play around with everyday.
@@cmattdabrat I've been practicing more and more so hopefully I could whip something up. 😂 You're right having a wiring diagram that complete in the software would be amazing for visual checks. Hope it's going well!
I cant wait to see this cruze on fuel tech 🤘👏💪
Me too! Soon. Hopefully I'll have it wrapped up this coming week.
Hey brotha. Love how you broke it down & made a nice wiring diagram setup. Your on another level of awesomeness & intelligence man. Much respect love to you. ✊️my bro
I really appreciate it!
Some of us at the Cruze forums are missing you bud.
I drop in here and there. Forums have slowed down in general, unfortunately.
Friend, you are closer to returning to the 1/4 Mile well.
Looking forward to it!
I'd pull the stock cluster gauge out and have the FT550 screen in there, since you can get all of the necessities being show on the little screen
...And because racecar bro!
Good point. Would make for a clean look.
Awesome vid Matt ! can you upload the wiring diagram ? thank you soo much !
I like this setup! video was great content and quality wise!!
Thanks!
Hi from the uk Ive been rebuilding these vvt"s for many years and love your channel i also run an insignia group (the british version of the buick regal) and people ask me how to improve performance on these engines so i just send them your channel link with luck lol. I know most people would look at what your doing and question why but it becomes a challenge and i totally get that. Good work and great channel. Rip that quarter mile 😉
That's awesome! They seem like a great platform. Iron block, aluminum 4 valve hemi head. VVT. Bucket on valve design. Pretty simple engines. It'll be fun to see what it can take and make horsepower wise. Thanks for sharing!
I think leave the stock dashboard in and cover up the tec side of the dash
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to toss the FT in there and see how it lines up.
I like the idea of keeping the stock cluster if the ft550 would work it. But thats just me. When i was younger the idea of a digital dash seemed cool. Now that im older i tend to like a stock gauge setup. O do 3d printing, but any kond of complex modeling is beyond me. My fdm.printer it down so i have been using my resin printer for everything. Way higher quality, just not as big of a print volume.
Haha yeah I love factory digital dashes like from the 80s style wise, but I'm a big fan of analog clusters too. Depending on the car, the factory gauges are just so cool. I think I'd probably try to add the FT on instead of totally replacing at least to start.
I think I might have a video up on the channel I posted long ago of my mechanical gauge going on the '71 beetle I had on a cold day. lol. I feel ya on the nostalgia on analog style gauges. Even these gauges are fairly digital, but with a mechanical feel.
@@cmattdabrat I'm also a little biased. kind of fond of the stock cruze gauges. I stare at them 1.5 hours a day driving to and from work and for factory gauges they are pretty well done. Just enough digital to analog ratio.
Isn't the fuel tech pretty tiny. It would just cover up the tach side of the dash? Leave the cluster in since the speed and fuel have nothing to do with the engine ECU? Would be nice to keep the info screen active for trip meter, oil life and tire pressure faults. Yeah I looked at how big the main screen is in your hand and if u put it over the tach it won't really block the middle info screen or speed it's a pretty small unit.
It is, but I'm sure it'll cover up a good portion of the factory gauges. Guess I should have just mocked it up, but had the FuelTech sitting in my office. I will be sending the speed and fuel level signal to the FuelTech as well. Guess tonight I'll bring it home from the office while the rest of the stuff is coming in and start mocking things up to see.
Omg wiring my favorite part. Oh no thanks 😂😂 I'm out. Having a heart attack already 😅😅
LOL, it's not that bad. Part of the reason I made this video.
@cmattdabrat you are doing great job personally in my life I wired 2 engine in cars I can do it but it's not fun and boring. If it's necessary in your case you should do it . 😀 I'm joking
You a genuis 😮
I appreciate it.
@@cmattdabrat we appreciate you buddy
