      LOL! She watched me for about a month straight and would say, you're going to get this car running today and would pray for me to receive the knowledge to get it going.
      Seems like it! Running much cleaner and pulling quite nice. Next video I'll do some street pulls, in Mexico, but she's starting to spin the tires, even with 5 degrees pulled out to keep things safe until I get it to the dyno to see how much timing it'll like.

    Hi Matt, the gear wire you had is meant to go the gearbox. Some gearboxes (mine for example) has a first gear selector switch on it. Not sure yours has.
    Its to limit the boost in 1st so you dont destroy your dif. Ive got the switch, but havent it wired up as my dif & gearbox are pretty much indestructable.
    If you have the switch, i recommend wiring it in, as you have the (what we call over here) the chocolate box!
    Great vid tho, exciting times!!

    • @cmattdabrat
      @cmattdabrat  Před 7 měsíci

      You're right about that! With this model cruze and transmission, it doesn't have gear detection. I just thought it was funny they made the decision that it's a standard part of their wiring harnesses. The pin out of the FuelTech, once I entered what my needs were, some of the pins were taken up by the Gear detection wiring. Not a big issue and I'm sure at some point once I can afford a sequential transmission I'll make use of it.

    • @cmattdabrat
      @cmattdabrat  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Thanks! I'm happy I went with FuelTech. There's a couple small gripes that other ECU's have, but loving it thus far. Me too! I'll do some test and tune stuff at the 1/8 here locally, but in order to not break anything, I'm going to seek out a 1/4 test and tune soon to really let her rip as I can dump in all the boost up top. Things break off the line with too much boost lol

  • @jayasankabandara4792
    @jayasankabandara4792 Před 7 měsíci

    Thanks man! By showing the process of attaching a stand-alone aftermarket ECU to a modern day car, like the Cruze, you showed us the unlimited capabilities of swapping engines to this car! I wander if everything based on the BCM works somewhat similar to how came from factory (like power windows, interior lights, airbags etc.). I mean, just think about it Cruze fans! "What if" we could swap something beefy to this thing with an aftermarket ECU?

    • @cmattdabrat
      @cmattdabrat  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Everything functions the same! With the exception of the auto run lights seeing as I removed the stock instrument panel. Blinkers, horn, radio, windows... BCM is handling it all. Really just took control of the engine and the fuel pump. Solved all the issues I was running to with power cut.
