I mean horses genuinely are able to just, steer themselves pretty reliably most of the time, so it's not unreasonable that it'd require less constant focus than driving a car.
If I remember correctly, there was a man in Mississippi or Tennessee that was pulled over for a DUI after riding his horse home from the bar. He used basically that defense in court and had the ticket tossed and the DUI stricken from his record.

If you are living in a household together anyway, then social distancing inside that household is pointless because either none of you have it or both. And as long as you limit contact with others from outside and mind the hygiene rules, the virus won't magically teleport into your lungs.
Trust me, as someone who has worked in a microbioloy lab, you learn quickly to wash hands and disinfect tools after every contact with something potentially contaminated, not to touch your face or food with un-disinfected hands (apart from the not eating in a lab rule that is there for a reason), and in general don't stick your head under the cleanbench's shield.

Pole sitting is the first thing I thought of when he said that hessian sack line on funemployed. Back in the early 80s some hippie friend of my dad did a pole sitting attempt. Don't remember if he beat the then-current record or not. Less than 2 months total sounds about right though.

Also in Australia, near me, a man was fined $250 for using his mobile while driving a horse and cart. It was all anyone could talk about for weeks, we all thought it was pretty ridiculous 🤭 (the fine was withdrawn by police in the end)

To be fair, if you want to separate the legislative and executive powers, you’re gonna end up with the fact that cops are tasked with enforcing laws that even they might think are stupid or wrong. You don’t want cops to be corrupt and only enforce laws when they feel like it... But then again for other reasons laws are deliberately written to be excessively broad and punitive, and never updated, so...
TL;DR it sounds like there’s a lot more to a situation like that than “dur hur cops always stupid” :/

My grandpa is hard of hearing. Growing up I hated closed captioning and then in highschool I moved in with them. 3 years later I couldnt watch a SINGLE show without CC. You learn and “hear” so much more with subtitles! I can hear perfectly and I learned to love subtitles 😹
Most european horses ARE bred in spain. They are raised essentially wild, then taught, in spanish.

there's plenty of laws that just...nobody bothered to repeal them because no one is going to enforce them. It may be apocryphal, but supposely in the US, motorized vehicles must be preceded by a walking man with a flag (or a lantern at night) to warn pedestrians in the road of the approaching hazard, and so as not to startle horses and livestock.
