This is still my favorite racing game. Has been since it first came out. Controls are so good. I did find it strange that Ralph was included instead of Vanellope (you know, the one who's _actually a racer_ in the movie) but it's still great.
@@S0meb0dy728 marketing purposes. Ralph is simply more recognizable than Vanellope from a marketing standpoint. On the bright side, ralph's all-star theme in the game is excellent. It's the same theme that plays in the movie when he wrecks the building.
This game has Ryo from Shenmue driving an arcade machine, the dwarf from Golden Ax riding a frigging dragon and a Dreamcast controller boat among some other odd vehicules. It really seemed like Sumo were eager to include as many weird stuff and references as posible into the game, and that kinda made it great.
Hatsune Miku actually was planned to be a playable character in Transformed, iirc, along with Toejam and Earl, but they never came to be, sadly. If Sumo Digital develops another Sega racing game, though, maybe they'll get their chance!
The Japanese version seems pretty cool. The dude from Daytona USA (Takenobu Mitsuyoshi) is the announcer, and the Blowfish are replaced with garbage Puyo from the Puyo Puyo games (or Mean Bean Machine, if you want).
Did you know, that sometimes I find something about Sonic in my subscriptions and I FORCE myself to make a joke about Sonic Forces as you can see right here.
S&ASRT is actually my favourite racing game. A bit buggy, but I think it's great. I never really got a chance to play with my friends because none of them own the game, so I was stuck with using online, which was fine for the most part.
I remember having an absolute blast playing the Xbox 360 version with my cousins, I can still remember that weird Mexico world. Edit: I mean the original all stars racing
I actually loved this game. In fact, I still own it on my PS3. At first, I hated the controls. Thought they were shitty. Use to think Transformed was a bad game, and believed the first one was far more entertaining. But after a while of playing, I started to get the hang of it, and loved the controls. I even managed to unlock all characters! Also, believe it or not, I never knew you could turn off the announcer's voice. I don't mind hearing him, too be honest. He's got a cool voice. Did you know that the announcer is the same guy who voiced SGT. Cortez from TimeSplitters? If you never heard of it, it's fine. There hasn't been a new TimeSplitters for more then a decade. It's a dead franchise. Rare to find people who played it. It was a first person shooter, I was amazed by everything it had. I bet if Cortez was in Transformed, most people would be like, "Who the heck is this man?" And I wouldn't blame them. Lastly, I don't know if it's just me, but I find these Sonic Racing games to be somewhat underrated. Some people never bothered getting them, because they said they were Mario Kart ripoffs. [SIGH] They never even *played* them! So why say ripoff? It's like saying "Gran Turismo isn't a real driving simulator", when you obviously never even touched any of the games. Or "PlayStation All-stars Battle Royal is a Smash Bros. ripoff", when you never played it. I hate it when people say that kind of shit... I see it every so often.
Lowkey one of the best kart racers tbh. Shame most people that cover the game suck ass at it. When you learn the proper way to play you get a level of speed that no other kart racer can give. You can hold drifts while doing flips in the air, risk boost constantly while in a plane which can also be stacked on drifts and the tracks are the most creative and fun for sure in the entire genre. Really underrated considering it does everything other kart racers do, but at a much better standard.
God, I really hope Sonic Team Racing turns out good. So far, unlike Forces, there's nothing in the previews that worry me. But then again, I said the same with Sonic Boom.
Notes: Ralph is clearly here because Sonic was in Wreck-It Ralph, so they were doing a cross-promotion of sorts. I also read that Bayo didn't make it in because of the ESRB rating or some such; what a shame they didn't even use the world's best Sega character.
Me and a couple of friends I used to have years ago had a lot of fun with this game even though I must admit I was terrible at it. I always liked to think that Sonic and all the other hedgehogs used cars just to make it fair and competitive for all the other racers lol :P
Favorite track: Skies of Arcadia: Rogues Landing Favorite Character: Vyse This game was heavily underrated, but it's still a good time to go back to every now and then. The online mode could have been done better, and some additional characters like Hatsune Miku or Bayonetta would have been nice... or Billy Hatcher since there IS a Billy Hatcher level in this game. I would say a character or track from the Phantasy Star series would have been amazing, but since when did Sega care about bringing the rest of the world (besides Japan) Phantasy Star?

rewatching this and i kinda hope Rad will cover the first Sonic and Sega All-stars Racing at some point, i wont say its better than this one but the all star power ups were absolutely miles better than the complete let downs Transformed had
I have this game on 3ds digitally and physically. I downloaded it for wii u on a 32 gig flash drive with watch dogs, resident evil 4, super mario galaxy 2, and kirby return to dreamland. If anyone steals them away from me, they will be stabbed with a kitchen knife.
Sonic and Sega all stars racing, The original on the Wii used the narrator well, I’m easily annoyed but I liked it, it was charming, because the lines weren’t just X is going All-Star! It would be Amigo Goes All Star, Carnival!, or Amigo Goes Maracas!
Personally I like the Sanctuary Falls track best, it's a cool level and the music is awesome, The track itself is based on Sky Sanctuary zone and it get's its music from the same level but mixed with Back in Time from the Regal Ruins track in Sonic R

There's no limit to how many rings you can collect, nor how fast you can go.

I used to play on my PS3 against ICE87 (#1 player worldwide, mostly used Amy, sometimes Ulala and Gum). Those were REALLY fun days...
They got the mercenaries I'm sold
