How about the winch? I mean that is a winch bolted on the front end right? And before anyone mentions that it wasn't working, or had no line in it, I ask WHY THE HELL NOT?

In that type of ground you need a smaller tire (not as wide) and chains all the way around. And like someone else commented that logs make a good road. That's what I do all the time. Have a bad spot just fill it with pulpwood and go on.
A lot of comments about driving. But no comments about equipment. @Juris Peškovs, could you please tell us more technical information? Frame, motor, transmission, handling etc? All is made by yourself or was constructed on the base of something? How long does it take to make this machine? As homemade it looks very impresive.
Why haven't you installed rollers on this machine? I don’t think there would have been a stuck with the rollers. In Finland, we have rollers in all forest machines, both in harvesters and driving machines.
Always comfortable to know, that everybody who’s commenting was there, knew the ground, the machine and in consequence, of course, the best and therefore only way to get it out of that tight spot! But yes, differential locks seem like something, that could have made it easier to get out.
Добрый день. Подскажите с чего сделана рама(интересует размер профильной трубы?). Думаю сделать с 240*120*8мм....Подскажите хватит ли толщины стенки 8мм? Спасибо. Удачи в начинаниях!
it can be used several ways. even to pull yourself out of a spot like he is stuck in in this video. if he think of it and find a tree ore rock to tie the wire too. hehe But usually a timber winch is used pulling logs if the terrain is to steap-- rocky like it is many plases in norway at least.. in the 80s i worked for a farmer which didnt have a forwarder, just a 4 wheel drive tractor and a 3 wire 20 ton winsj,, where you could run the 3 winches seperatly, making you able to even set up say a dragline.. but usually we just put say 3 trees on each wire, with a chain on each tree and dragd 9 trees a time down to the lumber road where we cut the trees to length and loaded them on the trailer with the front loader. here is an example of a tractor with 2 wire winsj: encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQQkyQs_jaVojCVob4o8BZaAlmHJcMHwNULKh0-Wrb1jekJIDrD9w&s and here i guess 1 wire... i guess it depend on how big trees you cut-tractorsize and what terrain you drag the logs over how big winsj-many wires you need.. encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcT_WCYGig799Mz-77dB2dfoG1Z1oys7bZx_LXjXD27tk7j1KC_jrA&s
Sorry, I should have written why is he not using the winch instead? It seems like a well build machine, to bad only 3 wheels are turning when it gets wet. These tyres seems great. But these big tyres often dont have enough ply rating for tough forest.

A horse, a horse! A kingdom for a horse!
Wheel chains and all wheel drive is the answer from a retired forwarder driver.
Жаль блокировок нету, а машина высший класс.
Is that a winch I see on the front of the forwarder, with a wire rope and a tree stump out in front looks like it would help.
