0898 - The birth of expensive premium rate calls.
Yes, I miss the "answers on a postcard" era of communication from TV programmes. 3:42 I am certain that Phil Walker got a bit more than 15 minutes of fame as his name sounds familiar - perhaps I am thinking of someone else with a similar name? He probably had more success from another TV series perhaps?
Shame we couldn't see the acts...
ik zelf ben van regio kortrijk en haal ze meestal uit de plaatslijke kringloop winkel :-)
Hi would it be alright to use a little bit of this footage for a Marti Caine tribute episode I am currently creating? Thanks
Hello, do you have a recording of the performance of 'One in a Million'? would be amazing if you do my friend is one of the band and sadly her husband recorded over the performance by an accident and her grown up children have never seen it...hope you can help...thank-you...Sue :-)
New Faces and the London Palladium - could have been 1978 instead of 1988!
I can’t find my appearance
Grey and purple graphics, awful synthesized saxaphone?
That'll be the late 80s then
Right. Well if you think state of tv is better now than back then, sorry but you need to re-evaluate. It had more heart integrity and decency than any measure compared to the blandness of todays ITV. For all your description you are comparing the technology of back then to the technology of today and even based on those 80's graphics and sound, still overstating how bad it was. The ITV companies that were indeed the backbone of ITV such as TVS LWT Thames Central etc. their idents still hold up even today appearance wise and between them they made and produced some great output. It is a shame the trend of today by some seems to be - bash everything and anything that was decades ago just for pure sake of it.
