    my friends called me up to ask what we're doing tomorrow and only then did i realise it's 31 dec tomorrow. ive been studying sm, days have started to blur together. this video is my first step to what i hope will be a year where i can balance all aspects of self-improvement like the gym, eating healthy, and social relationships 😩

    1: 20 minutes every school day, review questions I found tough
    2: Take 13 minutes every day to learn coding
    3: Plank for 1.5 minutes a day

      @@LeahRowan 13 minutes a day stacks up to 90 a week. 13 minutes sounds less daunting then 15 minutes, but it's more than 10. It makes it easier for me to accomplish!!🌟

    Your videos have helped a lot Amy. I'm a junior in high school and 2024 will be the year I apply to colleges, so I need to work especially hard.
    I'm going for the top score on the ACT, practicing my instrument and sport, making my teachers like me for LORs, and applying to a selective research internship. 2024 will be my year!

    1 Productivity: Don't use my phone the first hour of the day
    Why? -> this will help me starting the day with less overwhelming thoughts, slower morning and a chance to start working early on my book ( writing my book makes my Brain happier)
    2: Skill : learning Korean! Just for fun because learning language is fun and makes my brain work in a good way
    3- exercise: workout for at least 5 minutes a day that could be warm up, walking while watching a video or listening to audiobooks.
    Bouns habit: film as much as possible of my days to document my journey with this challenge.

    Cooking - every holiday I learn and practise that dish
    Exercise - stretching cuz I want those vertical splits that ppl do (I can already do them normally on the floor so that's my new goal!!)

    My chosen habits for the 3-week challenge!
    1. Review homework and notes for my math and biology classes periodically (20 mins.)
    2. learn how to crochet at least 5 clothing items, I actually would wear
    3. Posture exercises
    In the past, I always wanted to set myself goals for the next year, but I got so overwhelmed by all the habits and skills I wanted to develop that I just gave up without even starting! Thanks to the three categories, I actually was able to choose 3 from the many goals I passively set for myself to actively focus on.

      Update Week 1:
      So, long story short, I succeeded in 2 of my goals (posture exercises and homework review! Honestly the ones that I didn't I would actually do but I was really motivated by this video!) and didn't quite get the other one done.
      I think my problem this week was that I forgot about my goals some days since I started the challenge in winter break and had other activities fully distract me from wanting to crochet.
      Posture exercises were pretty simple to keep track of because I did them directly after getting out of bed and before going to bed.
      My goal of reviewing my notes was kind of hindered by the fact that I didn't have enough notes to review because it was in the middle of winter break but I did write down what I remembered about the topics we had just before fall break and compare it with my notes and that was just enough to fill out 2 sessions and I filled another 2 by kind of learning the topics that we were going to talk about after winter break. (And we did!!! School started again today so I was able to participate really well in math class and biology class!!)
      For crocheting, I started to make some fun granny squares that I plan to sew together to form a simple crop top, I have been having fun with it and I genuinely just forgot I was doing this challenge for a full 3 days because I started reading Bram Stokers Dracula and doing research on it so crocheting just got pushed into the background of it all.
      Anyway, I think this was a really good start to the new year. The fact that I went into it with some clear goals really helped me with using my time wisely and not spiralling because another year has gone by.
      Next Monday I will post another update!

    Im gonna follow this challenge for 3 weeks
    habits that im gonna follow-
    ~stop using phone 1hr before brushing teeth
    ~review my notes 20min before bed
    ~sleep 8hours
    ~improve my posture
    skills that im gonna learn
    ~learn a language
    ~learn how to do makeup
    ~exercise 40 mins everday
    (going to start this challenge from 1st january till 21 january)

    Hey Amy! How are you? New subscriber here! I already commented on one of your other videos but I really appreciate these videos that you are making. I want to start up a lot of things this year like starting my own youtube channel and entering competitions but it is hard for me to be consistent and not procrastinate.     Thanks for the vid! I’ll try my best to complete this challenge! My three habits will be:
    - Don’t scroll on social media for more than 5-15 minutes at a time
    - *Effectively* continue to practice art
    - Walk on a walking pad for at least 30 minutes a day
    I’ll try to update this comment as I do the challenge. Also good luck to anyone else who is taking on the challenge!
    Update week 1:
    I’ve been doing very good for the most part! My productivity and skill goals I succeeded at for the week. My exercise goal I halfway completed but I will try to complete all of them in the next week!

    1) Do as much work as possible at school
    2) Continue learning Python (I took a Python class at camp over the summer but due to "complications" with the teacher, we didn't learn as much as we could've)
    3) Plank for 1.5 minutes (Soccer mostly helps with legs, I need something for the rest of my body lol)

    1. study atleast 4 subjects,each for one hour everyday
    2.exercise atleast 15min
    3. Brush your hair and take care of yourself
    4 Revise for atleast 20 min everyday

    my 2023 was neither bad nor good. All the tasks I have been wanting to do were either partially completed or I quit on them because they seemed too hard. I hope with this 2024 guide I will once again bring myself up to the mark and make 2024 a good year

    1. establish routines rather than resolutions (replace bad habits with good habits)
    2. shift your identity and provide reasons as to why you're doing what you're doing
    3. the best way to learn is comprehensible action/interaction (you can intellectually 'understand' how to play the ukulele but until you actually pick one up and start strumming you won't really improve. this is why most of school is a waste of time because theoretical knowledge without practical application of that knowledge is ineffectual (body and mind must act as one). the reason you're learning a language is to communicate, so the best way to learn a language is to communicate with someone who is bilingual and can help you acquire the new skill incrementally via actual practice of the skill. the reason you're learning an instrument is to play music, so you must combine the intellectual knowledge of what to play with the act of practicing the desired skill. etc. etc. so on and so forth)

    2. Learn the languages i've desperately wanted to (max 2 ; prolly mandarin & korean).

    Wow this video was so motivating and really reminded me how much I wanted to go on a journey of self-improvement before I became so distracted and busy, and thanks so much Amy for your really practical + approachable suggestions here are your tips I’ll implement for this 3 week challenge (and I hope to continue these throughout the whole year!)
    1. Review material from my 1-2 hardest classes for 20 min a day
    2. 1.5 min plank everyday (split into 3 30-second planks)
    3. Learn a new language with consistency by studying 15 min daily
    4. Posture exercises

    My goals will be to sleep 8h at 10pm, to learn spanish because i want to have good grades ( I learn spanish in school) and maybe coding (not so sure but for weeks it was on my mind) and doing ballet. Those are my goals and i wish everyone to accomplish them💕

    Thanks to your video! My list looks like this:
    1. Get 8 hours of sleep.
    2. Learn to code.
    3. Posture exercises.
    I think that the fact that you are making this so dinamic and you are doing all of this to connect our grand A-team! It's really going to help us actually stick to our habits. So helpful, like always, Amy. And thank you for this video. I love, how you are so realistic about implanting these habits, and you enphasize that we start small, many people tend to go overboard, and it just fails like that, but when you start like this, there's a higher chance of it actually working! Like they say, what comes around easy, goes away easy, or something like that. Take care! 😅😊

      You should read 'The Obstacle Is The Way' (Ryan Holiday) & 'Atomic Habits' (James Clear). The Obstacle Is The Way by Ryan Holiday is a MUST READ! Let me know if you decide to read it!
      You have started to understand Amy's style of content well now, haha! Well done!
      And yes, we should focus on 1 thing at a time in a certain frame of time. Keep the mind fully focused on it. There's a freedom to focusing and mastering one task at a time!

    -Skill: Since I am 12th grade student have crucial exams till May 2024 I took meditating for 5-6 min daily as my skill to improve concentration
    -Exercise: 15 leg raises and 25 cross lunges daily in the morning

    P.S: I will probably upgrade my skill to learn hip-hop and heels dance from June

    1. Do at least 20 questions for any subjects each day
    2. 1.5 min plank per day and get at least 8500 steps per day
    3. Write a checklist of at least one new knowledge I learned each day
    4. Start journaling/ write a short story each day before bed
    Hope this helps with my diploma for secondary education and gets me into a better me 😌🤓

    Hmmm...
    I _quite _*_like_* this!
    I think I'mma go with
    1. Adjusting my phone's night-time mode (yeah, I _already_ have one, but _even _*_now_* it's nearly three AM and I'm ignoring it to finish up some things 🙄) from 12:30-8:30 to 11:45-7:45.
    2. I would ever so often generate music and art in my head. It's not like I don't plan on using such skills in the future so I'll attempt to hone it in my lesserly busy time.
    3. I picked up Shadow-boxing late last year, and I really see myself branching out and using it later and for more portions of my workouts. Kind of part of a larger improvement scheme. Like a Batman deal, but _obviously scaled _*_way_* down because of that thing you and _many, _*_many_* others have told me about scaling it down...
    My main New Year's Resolution is to get all A's, and considering my failures of this last year, we've got *a **_lot_* of progress ahead, but... I think I'm finally ready to work with others to set things _right._

    This is such an amazing video! Honestly, i would always try to fill a whole list of the things i would do and never get them done because it always felt like a lot of work! And now ive come to realise how important it is to have a small list of things and actually do them because thats whats going to make a difference.
    And also, the worksheet looks super good and easy to use!

    -Consistently review notes
    -consistently learn German
    -learn python

    ii) Start a new language (Korean)

    Habit 1. Review past homework and classes periodically for 20 minutes daily
    Habit 2. Coding for 20 minutes daily
    Habit 3. Daily Posture circuit + 5-10 minutes of core
    (20 Goblet squat with moderate to heavy dumbbell
    20 Good mornings x heaviest dumbbell (hinge, don’t bend over)
    20 Supermans up fast down slow
    3 sets of 1 min plank
    30 push ups)

    couple of hours to the new year, and i have just found your channel!
    the goals i am setting are:
    1. wake up at 6.30 am every single day (my friend and i are also doing an accountability challenge on this where if either of us wakes up late, we give the other a certain amount of money)
    2. learn to cook a new dish every 2 months
    3. do a 7 min workout at least 3 times a week (except for period weeks because ik i won't be able to 😭)

      week 1 update:
      goal 1: i woke up on time/early every single day except today, but my friend and i are excusing each other since we had gone out yesterday and were absolutely wiped out.
      goal 2: i haven't actually learnt anything yet, and i also realised that this was more of a long term goal, so i changed it to eating healthy (minimum junk food). again, i achieved it on all days except for the last two.
      goal 3: achieved completely!

      a little late week 2 update:
      goal 1: i woke up on time every day except for sunday. i was just lazy this time tbh :/
      goal 2: i've eaten healthy every day last week, except for a pizza on saturday which was part of a club celebration so it's fine imo.
      goal 3: i went on a walk like once or twice that's it.

    Hi guyss so here r my goals (which I will be updating AFTER i study 💪)
    Habit 1. Im working to prepare for my tj exam, so my goal is to do that before allowing myself to relax
    Habit 2. Im trying learn korean to better communicate with my grandmother so I wanna do that for abt 30 min a day
    Habit 3. I dont rlly have a specific workout plan so i'll probably just try the lesserafim workout lol
