    Same method that I’ve figured out after years of trying to find the best method for these tiny seeds. You are saving the newbies a lot of aggravation ! Lol

    I have some of the seed I got from you last year getting started on the window sill. We're still getting morning frost. So anxious to see them mature! *Happy dance*
    So appreciate you, Heidi! 🤗

    Amaranth.
    Hoo boy.
    Mr Rosehaven came up with using a spin (as opposed to the back-and-forth) flour sifter for threshing. Works pretty good.

    Heidi, I learned from Mary's Nest, she shared with us in her video about herbs.🏡 The chamomile🌸 flower can produce hay fever like symptoms. I picked the whole field to enjoy the drawing process for a tea and found that it triggered a Hay fever symptoms in myself. I am hear to learn, thanks

    Great video! I harvested echinacea last year after watching your videos. I am so happy to say that after planting them in a solo cup I have viable seeds! I have half a paper grocery bag full of seed heads that I gathered from the campground! I am thinking about selling them! What do you think?

    I have been wanting some yarrow for a while now and goll danget! Today I found one lonely oittle yarrow plant growing out of a crack in the curb by my work. I know it's yarrow and am so happy. Only thing is, I'm not sure if the flowers are mature enough to let them dry and have seed. How do you know?

    • @RainCountryHomestead
      @RainCountryHomestead  Před 11 měsíci

      I usually wait until the flowers turn dark before I harvest them for seed., bring them in and allow them to finish drying

    Have a question, I started Apple for vinegar per ur fermenting video. It is growing mold big time. Each day I scoop it off and then stir it. Am I doing something wrong?

    • @RainCountryHomestead
      @RainCountryHomestead  Před 3 lety

      I take it you are not stirring daily? You must have been watching one of my very first vinegar videos back before I made it a point to stir daily for the first couple of weeks. Here is a more recent one you might find helpful: czcams.com/video/depySASTPrw/video.html

    • @susankarnes2100
      @susankarnes2100 Před 3 lety

      I've been stirring everyday. This am I added more sugar as it didn't seem to be fermenting like the rest of my ferments. ❤

    • @RainCountryHomestead
      @RainCountryHomestead  Před 3 lety +1

      @@susankarnes2100 If it is very warm where you are, you may need to stir twice a day. If it did not get to a point where it was very fizzy, it is possible you may have started with too much sugar to begin with so adding more sugar would slow it down. How long have you had it going?

    When I try to dehydrate my dandelion flowers for soap or jelly making later... they explode into seed poof balls. Why do yours look so pretty and yellow in your jars? What am I doing wrong?

    • @RainCountryHomestead
      @RainCountryHomestead  Před 3 lety

      Temperature is half of it. Too hot can cause them to turn to puff balls. 105°-110° is ideal for the flowers. I recently dried some next to our wood stove with no issue
