great video, my 05 connect failed its mot on a hole in the sill amongst other problems. Not knowing a great deal about vehicle repairs i was initially scared off with the thought of repair work on it. After watching this im confident i can give this a crack myself. Thankyou and very nice job of the repair

I thought this was going to be another CZcams bodge video but I was wrong. That work is some of the best I have seen on CZcams and real life, ( I have a degree in panel beating and welding ) you were spot on about the welding across the top of the sill, space it out and don’t let it get too hot, that is professional work. Also when you drilled the holes on the bottom and then welded them the correct term is “plug” weld due to you plugging a hole.
    Great work. Great video

First class job my friend. Remember forty years ago doing a cortina sill with oxy acet even though l back stepped it l ended up with an inward crease half way along ! Thank god for mig. Great pair of videos from a real craftsman.

Mate that’s top drawer. You near brizzle?
I’ve enrolled on an evening mig welding course. 10 weeks to learn the basics. Watched a LOT of welding, panel repairs lately and this one is brilliant. You’re not hiding anything, explaining well and seemingly enjoying it. I’ve subscribed to your channel off the back of these two, look forward to watching more.
I’ve a Mazda Bongo to weld up! Two rear arches, inner outer sills and front cross member 😩

Nice repair but, the top weld would have come out perfect if you had knocked the bottom edge of top side of the cutout sill in a little allway along, like joggling, then welded the new sill to that.
