It is essential to have smooth transportation in Kathmandu. However, Nepal is not limited to Kathmandu and I think we should start discussion on how we ease mobility in different parts of Nepal. Kathmandu can still do well without metro by promoting quality public bus services, and it can be cheaper. In contrast, many rural communities in Nepal could improve livelihoods given the access to transport. So, let's not always talk about kathmandu and please discuss on issues from across the country 🙏🙏
Amazing episode! This is my first time listening and you've really handled it well, with minimal interruptions for the expert, succinct questions relevant to people *our* age and an open-minded learning attitude. Plus, as a development hobbyist, I have a lot of respect for Dr Acharya's holistic developmental ideas.

A small feedback would be, making multiple part would have been better considering attention span of viewers: Metro in one video, Airport in 2nd video, foreign aid in 4th, and so on.

Excellent analysts. Do hope the powers that be have the wisdom to understand all this- not optimistic but need to be hopeful.
What Dr Acharya did not surprising raise was the need to shift the Capital city to somewhere appropriate. Let Kathmandu be an economic, cultural, and tourist city and take two decades or more to build a smart 21st Century Capital City.
Mr. Pradhan touched on it, perhaps the next podcast could be on shifting the capital somehere appropriate.

They don't even discuss about why KTM population/pollution etc.. rise every day, first we must kill the reason why this all happening . A heads up on next topic would be great , live questions from select viewers would just elevate the quality of content. Could we hope for English subtitles for some of us who aren’t as fluent in Nepali?
First, we should build ramro safa road and cycle lanes everywhere and restrict private vehicles. Kathmandu can be like Amsterdam. Bagmati and Bihnu mati can be transfer into deep river and used for water transportation. Metro is also best and government should start working.

Nothing is so simple in unplanned city like ktm. Govt is having a tough time to compensate the owners in narayan gopal chowk for ring road expansion leave alone the metro or monorail.

Pokhara ko airport maah 1 plane per 2 min flight garajne vision le banako hoina ni Dr Saab, it’s for direct flight connection with other major tourism city of neighboring country and around the world as Pokhara being one of the most popular tourist destinations of Nepal, Nijgand airport might be necessary in the future but now we should not be doing hurry for its construction recently at least for 2 decades, land connectivity, new cities development on nearby districts and province should be completed first.

We lack proper Traffic regulations, let's forget about public transportation. If the roads and the system of law isnt built as a base its useless talking about other modes of transport. We need enough lanes to start with and then strict lane rules for everyone's safety on the road.
