9:05 I can't tell if he's joking or not but if he isnt then HOW does he not notice that the guy is surrounded by screens or whatever they are and not in an actual thunderstorm.
Ikr 😭 yeah it’s one of those weird spas where they make it look like a storm I think
Watching it i think maybe his sunglasses tinted the screen so he couldnt see the tops of screens to differentiate it from background but even then its quite clearly not a thunderstorm lol
I'm really hoping he was, I know George isn't that smart when it comes to CGI and digital effects but man
No he really didn’t realise 😭 I rushed to the comments had to make sure I wasn’t just tripping
I hope he saw this comment 🤣🤣
megalophobia is the fear of large objects, meanwhile megalovania is the fear of a short skeleton dressed in blue
Ham sanswich
The fear of bad times.
ppl are so stupid
Amazing
🤣
George not realising that pool had screens of lighting is so funny
can’t believe people are scared of george
Big beefy george, standing at 6'10"
No
4”6 tall 🔥🔛🔝
Memeulophobia
@urkoma *1'72.11
The pool with lightning is like an indoor experience you pay for, its all simulated storm. I still stand firmly in the "hell no" to ever doing that category.
I would absolutely love that. I’m jealous tbh
Those shipping container carriers always boggle my mind. Like when you are out on the road and a truck rolls by, you think fuck that's big and give it a wide berth. Yet when you see them on a carrier, they are all stacked like lego bricks an look really small.
And now imagine there is a ship that can carry like 30 of those cargo ships while still floating around. Entire cities on water, I tell you.
As someone who is Megalophobic I can agree that we are scared of George
George literally fascinated me with these videos i literally can’t get over it. Mans is the best biritsh person to exist
Agreed as a British man he is the best of are kind
David attenborough
That goes to Christopher Lee.
4:48 it is provavly a giant redwood and has grown so large due to frequent forest fires in the region getting rid of competition also explaining the smaller surrounding trees as they are susseptable to forest fire ( redwoods arent as they have imbricated water deposits i beleive)
For the 40000 ton bomb from what I remember it was detonated near the aircraft carrier to test it's resistance and the carrier survived with minor damage
9:01 I feel like that's a room with screens. Corner looks like two screens meeting imo
George did you know there's a thing called the sand wall at every coast about 250 meteres out to sea, its essentially a sheer cliff underwater that you cant see. Imagine you're walking on the seabed with your head just high enough that you can breathe above the water, and you suddenly fall underwater and there is no ground nothing to stand on anywhere unkess you can swim back up. Very scary, experienced this before, would not advise
Ain’t that the drop off place in finding Nemo
sans undertale moment
i thought this too
The lightning isnt real george LMAO
George not seeing the lightning for the pool video was on a big screen is so funny to me
Even though i respect phobias and understand why people are scared of stuff i like big things, it’s just so surreal in a way
George is 9ft tall btw
True
The bite force of a great white shark is roughly 4000 psi, but a megolodon was estimated to have had a psi of over 40,000, as its jaw was 9 x 11 feet. I fully believe it could bite through a ship
Thought sp
No
they aren’t big enough
@@zenthous9568 depends on the size of the ship
@@Wolf36181 I’m talking the size of the ship in the video
I think you're really underestimating the hull of a warship. That stuff is meant to take some serious shots, some animal bite won't do shit.
If I recall correctly Hyperion is over 700-800 years old and is a coastal redwood. Redwoods already get tall but Hyperion is around 300ft tall and if you're curious, yes trees used to get taller. There are reports from earlier on history that they cut down firs and pine trees that were around 400ft tall. It's theorized it used to be somewhat of a phenomenon in prehistoric times too, that the deeper you whent into the forest the more fuck off tall the trees got like how you go out farther in the ocean the deeper it gets. It's some pretty awesome stuff.
Edit: Mixed up Meters and Feet because brain don’t brain so good
Just wanted to make you aware that you seem to have mixed up metres and feet. The Hyperion is 380,8 feet as of it's last meassuring in 2019, which comes out to about 116 metres. Still fuck off tall though and you're right about the other stuff :)
Edit: Typo. Oopsi.
@@malinrnningen9357 Oh shit thanks man! I’ll edit my comment
@@LeviAckerman-cl6iy "brain don't brain so good" lol
Also no worries man.
The pool with lightning wasn't actually outside, if you look at the edges they're just playing lightning videos on screens bordering the water
At 8:53 I think its just a sensory experience simulator thing
It's quite funny the way he doesn't get a lot of very straightforward things
3:51 given most of what we've found of megalodons have been jaws and teeth and we've scaled it based of that, imagine if it was like a really big thresher shark and not a massive great white
Bad news, George: they're building one of those giant spheres in London too.
Hope not, that should be illegal
Cool
that bridge is downright horrifying. a long seemingly unending expanse of road spanning over millions of litres of water and no escape if something happens
Well yeah when you put it like that its horrifying XD
“Yeah I’d survive that “
Gorge memeulos
why tf did i read that as megalovania 💀
starting to feel like George might not have megalophobia
george you should do a video looking at stupid things elon musk has said and how his worshippers have responded, twitter ofc is a goldmine for that
george freaking out ab ppl being in a pool but its an indoors one that makes u feel like ur in a storm😭
bro put the description from the last vid again and thought we wouldnt notice
Would be fun to see you do a video on thalassophobia (the fear of the ocean) next
Hyperion is a giant redwood located in Canada (I think) and there’s not many left in the world because humans have pretty much destroyed them all
7:49 I love how George reacts to the giant calamari
1:08 good to know george was bested by some curtains
How did he not notice the lightning one is on a screen in an indoor spa lmao
george not realising the lightning was fake xd
The dragon billboard was fake too. The big cruise ship was a 3D render too, although the real thing looks exactly the same.
1:58 it is real, it is called Christ of the Abyss and its located really far under sea level
3:07 : Looks like Tofu Dreg to me
4:23 Majoras Mask
9:00 It´s indoors you can see that the thunderstorm is on a screen. Have to say that´s a really cool concept for a pool.
George should look at the ocean phobia next video
the road collapsing was probably a sink hole
bro missed the best your mom joke in the first 10 seconds
The rainstorm in a pool thing is TV screens ahha
I've been to that NZ airport. It's in Wellington and it was actually SO cool to see it in real life
As someone with megalophobia the reality of it is getting anxiety attacks at the movie theater and nothing really else.
I think the pool lightning was on screens around the pool, like an indoor experience thing
the lightning one looks like its a room
George would be one of the things in this video seeing as hes a staggering 5’6
With the lightening pool that's actually a therapy room with fake lightning, thunder sounds and rain if you look carefully at the corners it's actually just a projector ⛈️⛈️⛈️
hey george, the fear of being unable to escape is called agoraphobia! things such as traveling on public transport or being in an elevator, and also the things you mentioned like being on a boat or in a plane, it can cause people to not want to leave their homes for fear of not being able to escape a situation
Bros can’t even escape their own homes, how tf are they functioning?
7:37 - This would actually fall under the subcategory "Takes Deep Breathe" Megalohydrothalassophobia... Yes that is a real word, being The Fear of Large Things Underwater, gotta love the jokester that made the name for the fear of large things a large word (although that's also a separate phobia).
Ahhh love the vids broski
George when they were in the pool during the lightning storm it was just a screen with fake rain pouring down
That tree (Hyperion) is a Giant Sequoia - they're known for being...well, Giant!
I recall hearing about them on QI years ago, pretty cool, I guess
leslie clark fits the description for megalophobia
6:14 In another Megalophobia video almost 2 years ago he saw that exact picture and said ''That's not scary, I knew there were tornadoes that big''
10:18 I remember seeing one of those before but a little smaller in texas and it only projected a eye i remember seeing it as a kid and it was amazing
The guys swimming during the lightning strikes.. it's a spa. So they weren't really trying to win the Darwin award
6:25 As a person with thalassophobia I couldn't agree more. Idk how people could be deep sea divers or work at oil rigs, that shit is scary. 7:40 See what i mean?
Same :"(
7:26 the billboard uses the fact the screen curves round the corner of the building to creat depth
I had this as a kid. Only with huge wide open spaces with very high up ceilings. I would get so nervous and dizzy that I'd have to lay down on the ground! It was so strange
7:45 your gonna not like this
A unknown species of giant squid once ripped the bottom off a US navy ship
A big one too
The fact that we have explored more of space than the earth’s oceans is actually making the ocean more terrifying 😮
7:50 Not sure if this is the same species as the one I’m abt to reference- but its likely that the squid wasn’t alone
Fairly sure that giant squids travel in groups of up to 150.
Most of this can just be described as “That’s just really cool”
100% have this especially with big boats or huge quarry dump trucks
watching this made me realise that i have megalophobia
quality video as always big man
For anyone who didn't know, each blade on a wind turbine is about 50 metres long.
I’m have megalophobia whenever I look down
me knowing i have megalophobia, still choosing to watch this video
No way i looked up videos of megalophobia yesterday
George, the lightning was simulated
41 going swimming in the middle of a storm makes complete sense mister memeulous and to that video you're watching is them being inside of a controlled environment those are TV screens with fake rain and wind affects going on around them because people wanted to have fun and stay safe and that's really the only way to do so
the Hyperion tree is an attack on titan reference fr
George is the megaest phobia
I'm not convinced the lighting storm is actually outside. I thought I could see walls ending before the flashing started and hid it. Could be wrong tho!
Its a screen.
There wasn't actually a lighting storm in the pool, it was some sort of simulated immersive experience
Not too sure if you have, but definitely do a video on liminal spaces. I think it’s a mix of creepy/cool and nostalgic.
that noewegian cruise line ship rlly tryna recreate 1912
I dont think that wad a real lightning storm george😭
The pool with lightning is a spa in Milan called Termemilano, its surrounded by screens and rains from the ceiling.
I don't have megalophobia. I'm just scared about the guy being that close to an Evergreen ship. Those guys tend to crash their vehicles a bit too often
8:26 luh calm fit forest mode
The spa with a thunderstorm is indoors with massive screens and sprinklers, it's in a hotel in Italy called qc termemilano or something.
Do a Phalassaphobia video george!
4:44 its a coast sequoia, like a taller slimmer version of a redwood tree, they live for 1000s of years so its likely just the last one that has survived there
"what do you fear most?"
"big"
8:36 this looks quite inviting to be honest. Games and people.
I have a recent fear of giants robots, like the Iron Giant.
I can't explain why, I just started having nightmares about them walking out of the woods and trying to look through the windows of my house to find me.
I'm a fully grown adult and yet I've had this dream about fnaf animatronics, as embarrassing as that is to admit. Kinda funny though how random it is and how it only started a couple years ago even though I watched the movie as a kid lol
I love how half of this is just george saying he can firm natural disasters and demolition
I’ve always said that about squid, they’re terrifying
Btw the one at 2:45 is the ship that blocked the Suez Canal for ages a while back
Soon Stratford will have it's own creepy sphere
4:42 Pretty sure that the other taller trees like Hyperion did exist but were cut down (I mean to be fair thats a lot of wood and a lot of money to be made from one tree) except for a few (including Hyperion) which are protected and the rest are either new trees or a different species (not sure)
that giant squid is probably near-death; they usually live in the deep ocean and will only come up to the surface when it is at the end of its life. I doubt that one poses much harm. But they can get a lot bigger than 8 feet...
megalodons aren't that big brother, they're much smaller. also just in case any of you think they are still alive, they aren't, they're extinct.
Hate to break it to you George, but I think the guy swimming in a lightning storm is just a simulation art thing. Like large screens and a system above for rain
that lightning one was a video screen at 9:00
9:27 - I love hammock camping, but I'd nope right outta that one!
