That juvenile jungle is gorgeous ☺️
Thank you!!
My biggest regret is one you mentioned. I listened to a ball python breeder that said stay away from carpets, they’re nippy and bite all the time. Now 7 carpets deep(mix of Inland, Bredli, Diamond), I can say they’re absolutely not nippy at all, and polar opposite to his statement. Hands down carpets are my favorite snakes and everything you said is so spot on! Love this vid man! 🙌
Thank you very much for that testimonial! It’s so true and you are not the first one to mention a similar experience and introduction to them!! I appreciate you sharing that!
Got a Papuan from RIley a few months back. Awesome animal! Not bitey at all. Snatches up food when offered. Handles very well. Absolutely no problems.
Thank you so much for the update and wonderful testimonial!!! I appreciate you very much! So glad to hear all is well!!
Best snake species on the planet!!
Amen!! Couldn’t agree more!
100%!
Thanks Jeremy!
Thank you!!!! I am a new carpet python keeper and I named my baby stormy… she is a striky baby and she lives up to her name but I definitely socialize her and work with and she’s getting less striky 😂😂😂😂 I just absolutely love her though I can’t wait for her to be an adult ❤❤❤
You’re very welcome, but honestly thank you! I appreciate your comment and support. Congrats on your new carpet python!! She will definitely get more used to you with age and time no doubt!
Mine was super bad at first too but only took a few weeks of work and she’s a puppy dog now :D doesn’t even S pose at me anymore
Your channel is one of the main reasons I’d consider a carpet Python. Beautiful snakes!
I have an offspring from Riley. A zebra jungle carpet, he’s amazing to work with, trusting and knowledgeable, always available for questions and problems if I ever have any.
@@Itsit35578that’s a great testimonial!
Side note… it helps he’s the manager of my local reptile shop. He talked me into buying after getting to know him, and the shop. He was awesome to work with when I was getting my tegu setup.
Thank you Steven!!
I appreciate you! Happy to help y’all out with whatever I can!!
I'm looking to get an arboreal python or boa it seems that the bcis are very manageable and some don't get too big I really love the way the carpet pythons look but I also understand that they can be a little more aggressive.
They’re definitely not aggressive. They do have a feeding response as do most pythons and boas however.
Awesome vid.. totally agree on all fronts... Here in Australia the weather can be from one extreme to another day to day.. especially here in Western Australia.... very dry and hot most of the year..
Love my Morelia Imbricata... a delight to care for and handle practical everyday.
Cheers for sharing Riley
🐍🤘
Thank you for that! I appreciate ya! I’m also super jealous you get to work with imbricata!?!
I had a hatchling hold out on food since June. Tried everything, or so I thought. Finally got him going on a fuzzy scented with parakeet feathers. Just had to find the right bird lol
Isn’t it crazy how particular one can be and the bizarre scents or items they need to get going at times?! Way to tough it out💪
luckily, or unluckily, I have two pet parakeets that are in a cage in the kitchen a good 50 feet away from my reptile room, needless to say, my jungle jaguar is always hungry from the scent haha
Awesome video! Thank you
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome video and beautiful snakes!!!
Thank you very much!! I appreciate ya!
Very cool video like always
Thank you very much!!
Man i got a 3x2x3 pvc encloser thats empty and needs a jungle carp black and yellow color to fill it.
I have some Zebra Jungles available on my website!
Great video, Riley! Keep killing it 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!! You as well my friend!! 💪💪
I think you nailed it. Hopefully the newer generation sees them as the best choice for a wonderful pet which can be housed in a beautiful enclosure. If only this was hotlinked to Clint's bad review of carpet pythons. I agree with each point and would add one: They are the best looking snake out there. Look at those proportions!
PS Riley that Papuan is drop dead gorgeous! Make more of these
We gotta find a way to get this video to Clint and work on a collab!
I have no plans to stop producing tons and tons of beautiful Papuans!
@@Rileys-Reptileswe texted about this before. Totally think that that has to happen. I hope you can do it. Maybe even the good doctor J. could swing on by as he lives in Utah where Clint is.
That would be cool if I could make something happen!
Glad you showcased a Bredlii in this video. I've heard they are not true Carpet Pythons which is confusing. I've had my Bredlii male from a juvenile to now right at 2 years. Great feeder and I started including quail chicks into his diet of rats to mix things up. I tried to feed him on tongs and he would approach them but not strike. So I left three in his terrarium and he then figured out he could eat them and took them down in a few minutes.
They’re super cool snakes! Most people refer to carpets specifically as the Morelia spilota complex but common names aren’t that important. They’re Morelia and look just like the rest and live in the same continent. Close e ouch!
Enough**
@@Rileys-Reptiles Do you work with diamond pythons too? Not sure that I've seen those on your channel yet.
Not yet. They’re on my short list of species to add down the road
I recently got a jungle and I’m a bit lost as to how the feeding schedule should be. I really don’t want to over feed but I’m also always worried that maybe I’m not giving my growing baby enough. He’s currently 62 grams. I’d appreciate any advice about prey size and feeding frequency. Love your content!
I feed every two weeks a meal that will leave a good belly lump in them. Babies and juveniles start on fuzzies and hoppers and ascend bigger as they grow. They can take good sized meals. Just give em two weeks in between to digest and get hungry again
