In today's video I am reviewing the new BAREPRO Skin-Perfecting Matte Liquid Foundation by @bareMinerals which is the reformulated version of my beloved BAREPRO Performance Wear Liquid Foundation. I wanted to give you an in depth review and comparison on these formulas, I'm going to give you all the details on the claims, the ingredients, the shade range, I'm applying both formulas (the old formula in b-roll style) and will do a 12HR wear test with the new formula and let you know all of my thoughts and opinions on it! I’m glad you had a better experience than me. I can’t find a perfect shade match like I had before with the old formulation. It had also broken up on me after just a few hours. I’m so sad it doesn’t work for me anymore. I miss the old formula 😢
Thank you for watching and sharing your experience with the new formula with me☺️ In terms of shade, as you saw, my shade cool beige isn‘t the same anymore either.😕 I can pull the new shade off in Summer but right now it‘s a tone too deep. I‘m sorry that it broke up on you, maybe try some different primers or setting powders/sprays, maybe that could help🤔 just an idea. But I agree the old formula was amazing💗

@@brittanyhawley8510 maybe it‘s the zinc oxide? They changed the spf from titanium dioxide to zinc oxide. I personally did not experience any of this.
@@soulshine479 maybe it‘s the spf, they changed it from titanium oxide to zinc oxide. Always shake the bottle well. Not everyone does well with zinc oxide
I found it to be very drying with a chalky cast on me. It makes my skin feel tight and powdery. The color recommended by their site wasn't good either. I am cool, and used to use the 10 Cool Beige. I used the matching chart on Macys and it recommended 30 Medium Cool. It is too yellow and too dark on me, maybe a summer shade. I am so sad to lose my favorite foundation!
Oh hi I‘m sorry that you had that experience. Maybe try a different primer underneath it and see if it still does that? Did you use setting powder? Because mine is not chalky or drying, it might be a bad batch. Not sure. As you were able to see from my swatches and from my experience with their shade matcher which matched me to Light Cool 2.5 it is a bit too deep but not yellow at all, I actually after this video bought the Light Cool 2 and I do a mixing situation, not ideal but works. Hope you can make it work somehow, take care🤗
Same here. It was my absolute favorite and the new version makes my pores so visible, and it looks so dry and pills. Have you found any tricks or a similar alternative to the old version?

Are you aware of any foundation similar to the old formula? I wanted to love this so badly. The old version was my holy grail! This one makes me look chalky and almost feels like putty. I have never had very visible pores, and they are so visible. It seems to set into any fine lines I have. I've tried shaking it up, different brushes/sponge, changing skincare and primers, and setting powder with no luck. I wish they would at least keep both versions so we had an option!
Oh dear I‘m so sorry that it didn‘t work out that well on you. I get the comment a lot on here that it looks chalky, I can only assume that it may have something to do that this foundation contains zinc oxide whereas the old formula contained titanium dioxide. If you give it an intense shake before using it would that maybe help? I feel like they changed it because titanium dioxide and the cyclopentasiloxane (silicone) they used came under scrutiny recently. I personally did not experience the chalkiness. I‘m not sure if it‘s my skin, my primer or the setting powder but it works so well on me. I guess it really depends on individual skin. I almost got everything together by bare minerals that I want for the full face review, I‘ll use it again soon on here. In terms of something that is similar… I can only think of the lisa eldridge seamless skin foundation but that one does not have an spf and comes with a high price tag. I used that mineral veil powder in the loose version for YEARS. I used the pink one though. The new pressed version doesn’t come in pink (that I could find) and it does leave a white ashy cast on me. I’m a medium cool olive though. I think if you have fair to light skin it doesn’t show but if you are medium or darker it does. The pink toned one is fantastic.

I think it’s just the original loose version of the mineral veil. It has a light peachy/pink tint but blends in without showing as opposed to the pressed version that leaves a white caste. Maybe it’s the pressing that does it and it requires much more blending or maybe I’m picking too much up on my brush because I apply too much pressure when using the pressed version. I’m not sure. I just like the loose version better 😀
Thank you! I would love to try that version at some point. I think they also have a tinted version of the pressed one. I guess it‘s just the white colour of the powder that could leave a white cast depending on the colour of your base. I have used loose powders in the past that were very white described as translucent that left a white cast, however, I did not experience it with this one. Thank you for sharing this with me😊
The original version is my all-time favorite foundation too. I love the coverage, how it blends so well, and especially, like you said, the shade match. I also use cool beige 10, and it is the perfect shade for me. I was so nervous when I saw that they changed the formula, but reading about it, it does sound like a good change. I'm so glad I came across your video. I amy usually a light-medium cool. It also recommended the same shade for me, light 25 cool but seeing the swatches side by side, I'm nervous about getting that shade now. Did you get the light 21 cool shade that you said you should have actually gotten? I am curious to see how that one looks. I feel like your skin might be just a touch lighter than mine. Even light cool shades are usually a little too light for me, so the very light description also worries me. If you have or get the 21 shade, could you do swatches of all 3 compared with each other? Hi Brittany, thank you so much for subscribing, I truly appreciate it! I actually ended up picking the shade 21 light cool up which is slightly lighter than the original cool beige shade, so what I do for now is that I mix both of the 21 and 25 together and it works out brilliantly for me. I am planning to do a full face of bare minerals review very soon, I have 3-4 more videos planned before that but I will definitely swatch them all together on my arm. I really hope you are going to end up enjoying this new formula, please keep me updated on how it will work out for you :) take care
I hate that they changed it. The matte foundation makes my skin so oily, and the other one is horrid, it separates within 5 minutes.
Which matte (the skin tint?) and which other one do you mean?
In case that you are talking about the barepro the one in this video: are you using a primer and a setting powder? How are you applying the product? What‘s your skintype? I‘m asking since I do not experience any of this and I‘m wondering if something could help to make it work for you
Me too. I wish they would bring the old one back! It makes me look so chalky too. I'm looking to try to find any tips to help with it but nothing so far..
@@PammyCosmetix My skin is pretty good, not dry or oily. I sometimes get a little oil on my nose, but that’s from the nose pads on my glasses. Yes, I was speaking of the barepro 24hr matte, it’s nothing like the original 24 hour barepro (which I loved). The new barepro matte cresses under my eyes within 5 minutes, and I have never had this problem before, I don’t even have wrinkles there yet. I do use a primer, but with or without it, it hasn’t helped. I might need to try the primer you mentioned though. When I said “the other one” in my original post I was referring to the pure serum, it’s horrific.
@@brittanyhawley8510 it’s making my face feel slimy. If I touch my face with a cloth or my fingers, it just comes off without rubbing. I never had this problem with the original one. I also miss that they don’t have the shade the perfectly matches my skin tone anymore too.

Would you say this formula is more or less matte than the original formulation of BarePro?

Hi Rachel, thank you so much for your comment and for watching. I was nervous too but I really enjoy this new formula😊 I would say it‘s maybe 10% more matte, still it looks like skin! Although it‘s completely reformulated I think it‘s an improvement, I wore it yesterday an entire night out to the club and it looked so good when I got back home, I really trust the performance but again that‘s only my experience😊 take care!

Oh I‘m sorry it doesn‘t work for you.😟 I honestly prefer it, it performs amazing on me as you might be able to see in my wear test, it‘s not chalky on me at all (this does contain zinc oxide though, give it a good shake before using it) and gives me more coverage with less product. Maybe try it with a dampened sponge on a different primer? Are you setting yours with powder? Hope you can make it work somehow but I do understand that not everything can work out the same for everyone.
I hate the new version so much!! The old version was my most loved foundation, im devasted they have changed it to this new dreadful one... what a terrible desicion!
