God, this made me tear up. I'm 56, an old school Eels fan and a parent and feel that time closing in, or slipping away, grateful for what I've had but yet it's still sad to lose people and know there's an end in sight. Beautiful, meaningful work.🙏
Mhm can’t believe I’ve been listening to them for fifteen years, already. Can’t believe little guy is about to be three. Everything just becomes more bittersweet as life goes on so the eels is music that just ages better and better.
Time again comes knocking on your noggin to remind you of your time left in this world. Reaching 40 felt old then 50 didn't seem too bad.. then the last 6 years have been on seemingly turbo mode it scares me.. It's TIME to choose WISELY about what you're going to do with your life..
Well, that's a trip from the Sargasso Sea and back. It's the grandson wearing the parallel worlds T-shirt with his grandfather on it that really made me well up. No one can touch E for that extraordinary poignancy that he can infuse his songs with.
Thanks to all of you for your comments that help me understand and appreciate this band better. They seem to be the most under appreciated unknown band ever but been giving us great music for decades.
Beautiful. I remember when I was going to school, every morning I would flip the clock from 8am to 4pm in my mind and tell myself, see, I'm home already, that would always help me get through the day. I hated school. Always wishing my time and life away when things were difficult but, I don't like to look at the clock now, time moves ever so quickly, we must savour every moment as much as possible, time makes us who we are and what we've learnt. Thank you Mr Everett for reminding me that time and life are precious 💕
My tears and snot bubbles give it a 10/10. Your music and story changed/changes my life for the better. Don't know if you'll ever read this, but it's true. Nothing but love to you and yours, E. 💚
I can't quit listening to this song. It has joined my Lamentation of Passed Time Playlist with songs like Wasted Days by Mellencamp and Springsteen, I Willow Follow You There by Sean Rowe, Right on Time by The Ballroom Thieves, Sweet Unknown by Ceramic Underground, Yesterday When I Was Young by Roy Clark and others. Any addition by others is welcome.
I've seen a lot of shows, probably pushing at least 500 - 1,000 different individual concerts since my creation in the 70s, but only the Eels has led me to both travel across the world (to Austrailia) just to see them even though their home base is relatively near where I live and I've had the pleasure to partake in a few tribute cover albums to them, one even featuring a few of its former band members on a few songs as well. I've never done either for any other band or artist, even as a lifelong musician with a solid dedication to all music entails. The Eels will always hold a special place deep in my soul and their music an important soundtrack to my and many other's lives. It's crazy to think it's been 4 decades of music. Thanks for your time and talent Eels. Be well.
Perfect TIME to release, my daughter had just got out of the hospital to the newest song and it hit her so deep 1:47 Singing Eels to pass time in the hospital as a healing coping method. Then leaving the hospital and coming out to this beauty! She’s already made her own happy slideshow to this song ❤️🩹Thank you for always being there through everyone’s pain, happiness AND healing through out time…….. you are an amazing man Mr. E!!
He's saying that his time as Mr. E, each day is coming to some kind of end. But he will remain, through his son. As parents, we understand that our children are our continuation, an extension of us through time.
Your music is always such a treat for me, no matter where I’ve been in life. Thank you for always creating such beautiful work to share. As I age I realize how hard it is to keep on creating. So much appreciation to the artists that make life sweeter with their resonance
meravigliosa canzone = wonderful song. attendo con ansia il prossimo album, spero sia pacato e in linea con questo brano = I await the next album with anxiety and trepidation, I hope it will be calm and in line with this song
Most of eels' contemporaries who had a major label deal during the alt rock boom of the 1990's has gone by the wayside, but you continue to make thought provoking art and go wherever your muse takes you...Thanks E!!
Really makes your eyes well up. I’ll now spend my time researching who his dad was. Thanks for all the info! What an amazing thing this thing called life we live. It’s so sad so many of it waste it wasting away just waiting for the end while others inspire and create and thrive. I live somewhere in betwixt.
Simply an Amazing song and video full of heart and emotion that makes the point that Time is not just something we experience it is also something we are.
Time eels all wounds
Time wounds all eels
Wounded eels all in my time
He used that pun too, and eeled his feelings, I forget which song

The similar boat here and your words expressed just how I feel.
At 61, I totally concur.

Yeah I know right? I didn’t catch that the first 20 times I watched this!
Thanks to all of you for your comments that help me understand and appreciate this band better. They seem to be the most under appreciated unknown band ever but been giving us great music for decades.
Hhghyhyhhhhhhhhh-
Don't think I ever heard a bad Eels song.
And you wont
Beautiful song and video. It’s lovely to see pictures of Mark and his son after all the losses he’s been through.
Beautiful.

Man, this hits right where it matters. Just outstanding.
Such a legend! When I first heard E I was hooked! He's the epitome of perseverance.
Awesome!
It's awesome that the eels have a new album. I started listening to them again last year.
New EELS makes me happy.
The raw emotion is just what I needed, thanks E and all of the eels members for comforting me when I felt like an outcast
I cried!!!! I started listening back in the Hospital Food days.
After reading his book, this song hits different
Book? cool....
@@karinholloway8891 'Things the grandchildren should know', a great autobiography
Beautiful. Thanks for being alive E
This new video from EELS gets me right in the feels. (snif). Extra applause for including the toy piano shot from "A Man Called E."
Thank you for singing about the way I feel, E. You always do this.
