- Welcome to Episode 1 of Duo to Adam!
In this series, I will show you how I speedrun progression as a Duo with my duo partner @KotaKitsune on a freshly wiped server.
The goal of if run is going to be to speedrun to the shards with some "experimental" strats here and there, while also using weapons and abilities I'm not as comfortable with (on occassion).
The series starts off with a bang with a 44 minute Quincey kill, setting us up for a fast trip to the Iron Mine.

This is gonna be another great series
That was an awesome start. Keep it up.
Good one Timmy and Kota. Way to go with the progression.
Love the new series!
Not a perfect start but goes to show that you can quickly recover as long as you know what your goals are
We ended up joining the server about 9 hours into the wipe. Way later than we typically try for, but our strats really put in the WORK to get us up to speed insanely fast, and a 45 minute Quincey kill is just about my personal best!
Farmers'Market house will usually have some copper coins.
hype, managed to get here early! =D
I keep watching this series and the solo one. I've been trying to copy what you do. I've just not that good at PVP yet. lol
Hey I'm not the greatest either. I usually try to play pretty low-profile when possible, since I'm usually solo on squad servers.
Great start, although i think for efficiency i think you both should have sort of like a list of what goals are for prioritized for the duo to avoid constantly telling the other what to do
The issue is that every run is different. You can have a general idea of what to do, but there's no way for us to predict drops, especially when it comes to what drops each of us are getting.
There's so much emergent gameplay that we have to communicate to see what each other is doing, then try to figure out the best approach then.
When you're solo, everything is very clear because you're the one with all the info. In a duo, you get twice the info, and half of it is off-screen
Watching this through and hear you're struggling with copper coins early, did you know you can get a guaranteed 12 from the tutorial area?
Wait what?
There is a sneaky hidden "giant rat" in the tutorial area that ALWAYS drops 12 copper coins and has creature blood. Do you have somewhere I can post a clip of it's location like a discord or something?
@@swaiys2234 You can send it to terribletimmy on discord
@@swaiys2234 please send it to fellfromglory as well
i'm surprised this is the first time someone mentioned this
Niceeee this was a brilliant start to the duo run Timmy and Kota! also how did you get the chests with the flame line??? it looks really cool
It's a halloween skin from last years Halloween event. It looks super cool
@@terribletimmy2 damnnnn it does!!! cheers buddy!!! cant wait to watch the next episodes of this amazing run!!
@@anair1489 I love using the alternate skins to help organize things. You'll notice I usually alternate between the default and Halloween in the beginning to keep everything straight.
@@KotaKitsune i didnt notice it but i'll rewatch the episodes again and pay more close attention XD but keeping things organised even from the start is surely helpful as well!
Haven’t seen any v rising gameplay so let’s see how this is. Edit: very bad idea, I had no clue what was going on or what they were talking about but the actual gameplay was amazing!
Hope you enjoy bud!
kota with the level 7 quincy at the end lol
Heh, I felt like I'd left the oven on when I realized I hadn't even grabbed my Blood Rose Ring out of the workbench!
pretty good video get some pvp here and there and its perfect
Will have some more here and there, but we are generally going so fast we outrun everyone else
So Timmy, what was Kota doing the whole time after killing Lidia & Alpha Wolf? What was his job?
Does Kota have the video(s) with his POV?
His primary job at that point is to secure a Merc cop weapon, or at the very least the mats for one. In this situation, I wanted to try to get a boost and risk some garlic for a shot at enough copper ingots to for an instant copper weapon, but I also made a mistake here.
I based with just a little bit too much time left, when I could've actually gone to Copper Mine and hit some breakables and checked chests for a chance at enough copper ingots to actually make the weapon. 6 ingots is not difficult to come by in an uncontested copper mine.
I also forgot to smelt the copper (sigh), which was a bit of a time waste.
Overall, the goal in this setup is to have a base down, and either have 1 copper weapon or ALMOST a copper weapon by the time I head to bear, then the Duo gets the recipe and mats for the merc cop weapon. I then head to quincey, and if he DID have the weapon done, he would drop me the weapon at quincey for me to immediately go farm iron. If not, we rush to complete that asap and then go get iron.
@@terribletimmy2 Thank you SO MUCH for answering! I suppose that after he does that, he then is in charge of building the castle with floorings and such. But what exactly are his next steps/goals afterwards? (I have seen up until EP3, but without his POV it is hard to know)
Also, was Spear really the best choice for the weapon? Wouldnt Axes be better overall?
Spear is better for PvP that early, though axes are good. They help with cotton clearing, but overall I'd rather have a spear just in case.
Also, you would want to look for with your duo is one person secures flooring and gets the castle going, then they should look ahead at the biggest hindering farms and start there.
Wool thread and reinforced planks are big. Pristine leather mats, recipes, more iron for later, scourgestone runs at dunley monastery, getting glass for sludge containers, etc
@@terribletimmy2 have you done this gameplay in Brutal?
Is this a pve server?
PvP
They wanted to make the game less streamlined by allowing sulphur crafting right away. I personally like it, you still head there to farm- and t1 isn't very fun.
Imo or t1 was already crazy fast, but this makes the chances of confrontation even smaller, and let's speed runners out pace non-speedrunners even more than before. It also means t1 is almost entirely pointless while you're actually in t1, meaning people going quickly will have more reasons to come back ,meaning they'll meet low levels, which incites more high lvl vs low level confrontation
@@terribletimmy2 At the same time, it doesn't take a whole lot to speedrun this game now. Assuming someone followed your chart, and that they knew all the labels etc, they'd have a decent chance. Skill should be rewarded.
@@FallenFromGlory I think the largest barrier preventing players from launching into end-game now is most of the Gloomrot content. There's TONS of new materials to gather now that really work to gatekeep players from more challenging content until they put in the work to smelt and refine everything.
@@KotaKitsune It's really not THAT bad if you're being efficient. But yeah, it's a bit grindy. My solution is to let others farm for me by just kos: ing (when I'm tryharding).
