Was very confused about how to tackle the question why mba and not CA , this helped greatly but again di , it'll be great if you can provide some insights as you yourself are a commerce graduate
Hey Kushal, can totally understand. I was in fact asked in an interview - why not CA. And I replied that I'm not interested in accounting. I was asked - but you got good marks in accounting. To which I replied - I managed to study it and score well but doesn't mean I enjoyed studying it. I don't see myself pursuing it full-time.

In brief, they want to test if you will be able to add value to the batch by your experience and knowledge. They also look at whether or not you feel comfortable learning from the batch. Hence, it's not only important to know stuff, it's also equally important to accept that you can't know everything and be ready to learn from those who know.

Hi di , actually i did engineering in cse , then got selected in PNB as officer , now as I have given my 1.5 years to pnb and realised the work stress and salary i thought If i have to work hard only , i should do MBA first and work hard for a good company and a good package . 2. Are the opportunities for fabm students inside iima at par with the pgp ones (regarding alumni base, fests, placements)?

I am doing my engineering currently at 5 sem (just over) applying for internship. As well as willing to give cat 22.
So literally getting confused between my cat prep, college academics and internships to pursue.
Hence end up doing nothing.
Please emphasize what should be focused now.
Can understand your situation. For now, make sure to pay attention to acads and CAT prep (basic). The academic marks will get counted till the time you appear for CAT exam, so the next sem will not be as important. In summer vacation you can pursue an internship. CAT prep should remain your priority throughout.

Ma'am, I was looking at the previous year's question paper, and I saw the VARC section only had reading comprehension and jumbled sentences, but for the syllabus I often see odd one out type questions, and other questions on verbal ability which are not present in the question paper of 2021 or even 2020. Could you tell me what this is about, and should I focus on the other portions of VARC or just RC and jumbled sentences since that's all that comes in exam??
Verbal consists of RC + Para Jumbles + odd one out + Para summary this has been the same and 2021 was mo different
If you get good at RCs Para summary and OOC to some extent gets covered automatically

I have a question. During placement in IIMs does your academic background matters I mean you will get selected on the basis of your background such as engineering, bsc or bcom background and the job profile and package get affected by your background??? Or your 2 year MBA performance is all that matters???
Hey Subham, after getting into the MBA program, the previous academic background becomes irrelevant. I am not saying all interviewers are alike, but most of them don't care about the previous academic background unless it's a part of the job requirement.

Same 😁... I m also a bsc student And have reason.
It's okay to have that reason but saying that in the interview will backfire. So, you can say you wish to get into non-technical jobs and if you've had an exposure to leading people in any way - in college societies, group discussions, internships etc. you can mention you like management as a field.
How to answer this question as an economics honours student ?
The answer remains similar. Just the inspiration from your past and your goal in the future gets changed basis your own interests.

Hostel expenses are included in the fee. There's a mess for which you can subscribe (monthly subscription or purchase meals). It's affordable. Other expenses may include groceries and outings (if any).

Mam I am an engineer.. I passed out in 2020 from BITS PILANI and have a good paying job (31 LPA). But I am not liking the job very much... Should I do MBA as I think it interests me... I gave CAT in 2019 n got a decent percentile (98.67 overall 99.94 in quants 97.6in DILR and 88 in verbal) with not too much prep... Any suggestions plz
I think based on ur salary MS will be best for you because u are already earning high enough there is not much upgrade for you

I am trying to get a data science job which interests me but they r offering salaries like 20 lpa (which is not good as I am already getting 31).So I can do MS in data science or MBA. for data science jobs in uk, us, aus, Canada and other english speaking countries.. But couldn't find one for last 6 months. I can't afford MS in these countries as they cost way too much (I already have to repay the housing loan )
