    Hi Adam! I don't know who to ask this question, and I've scoured through reddit for an answer to it. I'm an accounting bachelors, I hate it. I have always been interested in marketing, but a master degree in it seems quite useless to me. I thought that business intelligence might be a valuable way to get into marketing, my ultimate goal being to become a marketing manager. I think that BI would be a great starting feild, with a good ''out of college'' pay. I was wondering about your opinion of this, and whether you think that a creative person could do well in BI. (also, I, terrified of the job actually being primarily coding...which I'm not really interested in).

    • @LearnBI
      @LearnBI  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi Mrs Tacky. I am both a nerd and a creative and I found BI to have a good mix of skills to satisfy both sides. I love visualizing data and also figuring out the best ways to connect to and join data sources. Trust me, there’s a lot more to BI than writing code. I’m not saying that you won’t need to, you will. But not as much as you might think and not to any really high level. Hope this helps!

Maybe build up a portfolio of personal projects using public data to demonstrate your skills.

    • @LearnBI
      @LearnBI  Před 2 lety +3

      For Business Intelligence you don't need to know Python because most BI projects don't call for the kinds of analysis that Python is built for. In BI you'll be mostly aggregating and visualising business data using SQL and BI tools that were built for BI. If you want to become a data scientist then you'll definitely need to study Python but that's a different channel 😁
