Awesome - love your story! I have been travelling/ living abroad for 52 years - never gets old. Actually it is addictive. I just booked my final continent - Antarctica - on January 30th - you inspire me to tell my story too. Great stuff! I got spoiled going to school in England for a year when I was 12 and then 6 years in Japan after I graduated university - spoiled me for life. Went back to Canada after that but could never be satisfied with work after having lived abroad - NO COMPARISON - so I started teaching people how to live and work abroad - best job I had ever had up to that point. Now I travel full time - will never work 9-5 again - EVER. Travel - take a year off - work to save to travel - you only have one life- don't waste it. SEE THE WORLD!! I have now been to 66 countries, 6 continents, 13 years abroad and going for 100 countries in 2022, COVID be damned. (Oh and I was stranded in Malaysia for 6 months at the beginning of the lockdown as I got stuck trying to renew my Vietnam visa on a weekend trip to KL - still have an apartment in Danang I haven't been back to in almost 2 years!!) - but guess what - it was totally fine - never got the virus. Now fully vaxxed I spent the summer travelling around Europe and am now travelling around Central America - hope I bump into Dan and if I do, drinks are on me.
Well said Brian... woooow Antarctica will be epic!!
We were hoping to spend the winters in Danang, but that hasn't worked out so far. We still are planning to get to Vietnam although we will wait till the time is right. Great to hear your story :)
What a story dude! Committed is right #mindset 👏 - Trevor
I was looking back at your 2011-2014 photos and thought, man.. I bet you wished you could have somehow recorded stuff younger.. I wish I was recording EVERYTHING for videos like this. Great story!!!
Thanks Jon. It's interesting looking back, it's like seeing myself develop and the technology develop at the same time :)
Story of my life, touching on 30, 79 countries in, and only a small handful of videos to show for it.
Awesome to hear your story man
Appreciate you bro 🙏
I've enjoyed your channel as a fellow traveller...who is old enough to be your grandfather! JoeTourist - travelling for over 50 years, and still thriving on new experiences.
This is amazing. I actually got emotional watching your video. I was just looking for videos, to better understand Guatemala!
That is where I am originally from but was adopted at less than a year old. I grew up and live in the states and have been dreaming to travel back to Guatemala and learn all about the city and hopefully locate some biological family.
I myself love traveling and have been fortunate enough to travel to Europe and Asia and even lived in the Dominican Republic for a year. I just finished school and I’m saving to go travel Guatemala. I was just looking into fearless journey, thanks so much for your videos and sharing. It makes my dream seem that much more possible
Thanks for the really nice comment, Kylieann... Sending you the best of luck with your journey 🙌
Hi Dan, Bravo Loved the video. Greetings from home in Montreal, where it is 5c cold and raining today !!
Thanks Jeremy! I haven't forgotten Montreal... But on 5 degree rainy days it's nice to be down south
Greetings from Virginia, congrats on your 10 years,God bless you
Greetings from Guatemala!
Wow amazing video Dan! What a cool recap of your past 10 years and how this technology has improved the way you travel and document and share your content!
Thanks Francisco! Glad you enjoyed it :)
I hope this video can inspire some people to chase your dreams and find a life that works for you. For me, it's been a 10 year journey to get here... and I'm incredibly grateful for each of you who help make this dream possible. 🌎❤

Congratulations on your videos Dan, what a fantastic life. I'm originally from Mexico City but have lived in Los Angeles since I was six. I will be seventy in July and have been fortunate to be able to travel to a lot of countries. You are truly a world citizen, you go everywhere, speak several languages. I speak English, Spanish and French enough to be understood in Paris. Since I was very young I always enjoyed meeting people from other cultures and parts of the world. Fortunately Los Angeles is super cosmopolitan. There's probably someone here from most places in the world. Keep up the great work. By the way, I was in Guatemala and was amazed at how beautiful it is. Thanks again for your videos. I only wish I was thirty or forty years younger to be able to do what you're doing. Muchas gracias. Tus videos de Colombia me gustaron mucho. Te recomiendo ir a Buenos Aires, es una ciudad bellizima. ¡Felicidades !
Very inspirational, it really is an endless grind, you need to love the process!
I'm 18-months into my CZcams journey... progress is slow for now... but that doesn't matter so much. At the end of the day, I love knowing that with each and every video... I have boiled down the highlights from each trips... that my future self, family, and close friends can enjoy.
Great progress!
Keep on keeping on!
5:28 I LOVE LOVE THAT PIC !!! Morocco. wonderful overview. great editing with great pics. solid narrative writing. you just keep getting better ! Tremendous growth. Thanks Dan. It really is a pleasure to follow you.
Thanks so much Jay. I really want to go back to Morocco so I can make videos about that incredible country
Congratulations Danny and thank you very much for sharing your experiences and videos with us. Ten years!!! We love Canada🇨🇦 and we know you love our Latin American lands too. Best Regards from Colombia🇨🇴
Thank you for sharing your story and contributing to a spark in someone's life. You're a beautiful human being.
It looks like this imposture syndrome adds kind of pureness to your videos. That's one of the reasons why it's so interesting to watch them. Your style is really great 👍
Sweet I remember my first time in Chiang Mai Th, in 2013. Nimmanheman road only had a couple places on it and Ristr8to was one of em. There was just a dirt road next to it. I loved it then when just the pioneer DNs were there. Was a great time to travel before the scamdemic. Hoping we get back to free travel some day in the world.
Incredible! Your journey is such an inspiration. Every time I watch I want to get up and go someplace new. Thanks Dan.
Love the story Dan. Can’t wait for you book! ✌️from Cocos Keeling Islands 🇨🇨
Nice to hear the story from the beginning, Dan. Thank you for being one of a minority of people that follow their passion, regardless of what you were "supposed" to do in life. We are all richer for it!!
I just found today that I wasn’t subscribed to your channel. I was one of your true followers I do t know what happened. I’m happy that you came out on my CZcams screen.
Hi Dan! It's great to see you continuing to live your dream. We've only been travelling and vlogging for just over a year, so your story is really inspirational. Cheers from Toronto :)
Super late to watch this video haha but happy to finally hear how you made it all happen! Inspiring dude!!!
Appreciate it!!
My first trip was in 2000. Before Facebook and digital cameras. I had a film camera, so I had no idea if any of my photos turned out good until I got them developed after I got home.
Great story, Dan ! Live the dream ! And, thanks for sharing.
Enjoyed hearing your story Dan!
Thank you Phil
Congrats Dan!! From Brazil,👏👏

I love to hear your story Dan.
I'm one of the many who first caught up with your channel when you were in Mexico City. In fact, we were living in Mexico City at the same time. (As of now I still live there.)
So keep it going! Yours is my favorite travel channel on youtube.
(BTW, ten years ago while I was living in Guadalajara, I taught English classes at Intel.)
Love it!!! Been trying to figure out how to become a digital nomad myself. You inspired me to keep figuring it out!! Great work Dan!!
Y definitivamente ya traes tu talento y es admirable todooo lo que has viajado y con lo poco que he visto he aprendido mucho ❤️ Gracias por compartir tu experiencia 🤯📹💗
That was a good one Dan! ♥
I like your honesty.
Great video, Dan! Love the positivity. I understand the impostor syndrome. I think most people feel this when embarking on new endeavors. Just keep being genuinely you and that is enough!
Appreciate it Nick 🙂
Thanks for sharing! You’ve inspired another 🇨🇦
Happy to hear it Anna :)

Dan,
Continue to chase your dreams.
Your story is amazing.
Thanks for sharing.
And if you can interview Jason Billam.
Thanks so much, I T
Wow-great. It’s refreshing to hear how much thought, effort, perseverance and creativity you’ve put into your work/New Travel. Though you didn’t mention it specifically, but COVID put a wrench in everything - you recovered and “kept the faith. Congrats!
You are right, Patrick... Though it didn't just throw a wrench, it threw a bomb that tried to blow up me and all other travel creators lol 💣💥 But still, when life gives you an opportunity to make a life through travel... Have to stay strong through the good times and the bad.
Everything you do is good. Do I have to keep reminding you? LOL!
Thank you Dan from the New Travel!
:)
Love from India ❤
Appreciate you, Tony 🙌
I backpacked there thirty three years ago! It had just emerged from its civil war. Definitely no tech back then!
Very interesting video, it's good to learn more about your travel background! Our paths may have crossed at the O'Sullivan pub if you were in Grands Boulevards haha. Cheers from Winnipeg :)
oh one question though, did you end up stopping your blog? if so, at what stage?
Haha that's so funny! I was actually at the Châtelet location. The Grands Boulevards one was much bigger... I only visited there once ;)
I stopped actively updating my blog in 2016. And I deleted it in late 2019. Perhaps a mistake, looking back, as I wish I could still direct people to some of my old writing. In any case I'm working on a book that will hopefully express my views on travel better than the blog ever could :)
I would like to know who really read blog posts "regularly" as entertainment. And if those newsletters still work. Can you use your editing software offline?
That's a good point. Part of the struggle I had in my travel blog days, was that I never had a core community of people regularly coming back. It would be different people coming to different posts, to help plan a trip they are taking. But then once the trip is over they are gone. CZcams, I find, has made it easier to build and grow a community.
Yep video editing works anywhere as long as you have the footage :)
I like your video guys liked 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Dies of awkwardness 🤣🤣🤣 lol
Nonetheless, wish you all the best for your continued travels
Disfruta mucho Guatemala wey
Omg those converse shoes are bad for your back and full body support
When are you going to visit Costa Rica?
That's a good question. It's not too far away. Any spots in C.R. you think I really have to visit?
Did you finish your book? You had returned to Mexico supposedly get inspired. I have been to Guatemala and honestly nothing really to be impressed about.
Good question that I don't have a good answer for. The book took a major shift in direction, and so most of what I've written is no longer being used. Still a work in progress :)
#GUATEMALA IS CALIDAD
I'm sorry 🥺 En este video me entero que es tu novia🥰. Es muy lindo viajar con tu pareja y te apoye en tus sueños. Muchas felicidades y que sean muchos más. Ahora soy tu fan 🤗🥇💕
Are you still in Guatemala ?
I'm in Mexico right now. Videos have fallen behind real life though so I have a few Guatemala videos still coming :)
OUR lady of Guadeloupe please pray for George Mathew whose birthday is on your feast day. Give him courage and strength to face whatever happens in life and protect him under your strong wings.
