The most learned people in the world about every engine and mechanic detail out there. Should recognise the significance and specialty of this engine. I’ve looked at a lot of engines and there’s hardly one that got almost everything right as much as this one did. It’s an honest engine designed to last through anything for nothing and then some
100% correct. The best of the legendary straight sixes. (Some may argue the 1HDFTE but I prefer the simplicity of the 1HDFT.)
One day my Land Cruiser will have this engine.
My dream is to drop one of these in my 80 series when (IF?) my 1FZ-FE wears out. Arguably the best diesel engine Toyota ever produced.

The 1HDFT is the evolution of the 1HZ.
@@muhumuzaianmbabazi9754 1hz are very tough and reliable, but the 2h is by far the most reliable and toughest Toyota motor. although if you want abit more go go still while being reliable, the 1hdt or 1hdft are 2 of the best in my opinion. In saying that you'll easily make more power out of a 1hdft.
Good luck! the 1FZ-FE are designed to last 1 million kms before requiring a full rebuild.

The 1HDFT is the next generation of the 1HD engine. It is better, a lot better. It's not just the extra valves, there are a lot more improvements.

@@igorv4631 Oh now you have put me on the spot.
The return oil ways are bigger in the head are larger to aid cooling and oil flow.
They also fixed the problem with the main bearings. (It wasn't really a problem it was the oil, in Japan they used a different oil)
The 1HDFT has no bearings issues.
The Piston diameter and clearance is different on the 1HDFT it is the same as the 1HDFTE enngine.
Oil capacity is more.
There are lots of small improvements that I can't recall right now but it was a big improvement. The 1HDFT is basically a none electrical 1HDFTE.
Max torque is up too from 357 to 365nm

@@igorv4631 The 1HDFT AND 1 HDFTE are very similar apart from the latter being electronically controlled.
All the updates I mentioned above apply to the FTE also.
They tweaked a lot in the 1HDFT to get the power up but the FTE has even more with 430nm at 1800rpm.
