I'm Lucía Forner Segarra, director, screenwriter, and producer of MARTA.

She said it more than once, too, wth. Why wouldn't he just walk out with her? Once they were outside the warehouse he would have had much better odds of escaping.
No, Carlos is not the villain.
@@trevorwilliams3501 of course he's not the villain, he's still the victim of multiple crimes, but he did make a very foolish decision that changed the villain's mind about sparing his life. After being warned repeatedly not to do the foolish thing by the villain.
To be fair that is usually part of horror movies, many characters do dumb things that allow them to be killed easily - other examples are investigating a strange noise, putting their weapon down and not picking it up again, running to hide upstairs instead of leaving the house in their car, etc...
I was trying to console the wife of a serial killer who committed suicide.
I said, ''Hey, at least he died doing what he loved.''

This is a wonderful film. The origin story of Marta, the serial killer, was well executed. The lighting, the location, the dialogue, and the actors... fantastic!

So the girl says she wants to be a serial killer, but then she doesn't want to be a serial killer, because she unties the guy, but then she still wants to be a serial killer. I'm supposed to be thrilled about this?

to be honest I saw that coming a mile away I knew he wasn't getting out of that knowing how Alter be having those grim endings I could foresee the script
