First line you showed is the vent to atmosphere line. Do not plug or pinch this line. It allows fuel to enter the carb, it does pour fuel if the engine is tilted too far, but that is not its intended purpose. Also, never plug any of the supplied hoses, if any of the hoses have fuel dripping, it is a float related issue and must be addressed or you will fill your combustion chamber and/or crankcase with raw fuel. Thanks for the info, I was wondering where those tubes went to, now I know, I run 91 octane clear non ethanol gas in mine and it runs perfect except when I ride to work in the rain the belt slips a little, I've only had this engine for 3 days and I love it, I am done with the 2 stroke engines and getting these engines for all of my bikes and thanks again for your videos!!!I'm in Cave junction Oregon.

Thank you so much, this is the only video I could find referencing the carb on this engine. I found a bike with this engine on it for 25$ missing all the tubes and I couldn't figure out which tube go's where.

I just got stranded with mine, starved for fuel and raw gas running out the overflow.
I pulled the carb, ran wire through the idle jet on top.
Pulled the bowl and checked that it cut off flow when inverted(Blow into the inlet nipple with a length of fuel tubing), it should allow air to flow when held upright but cut off airflow when carb is inverted, this tests the float valve. All seemed well, I reassembled and it fired right up, no more overflow gas. Reminder to carry pertinent sockets to do all this on the road if necessary.
10mm socket and 10mm wrench, screwdriver, pliers, ratchet wrench etc.

Choke ON turn to wards the starter cord

@mickeydi123 On some versions there is a switch your may just have 2 wires to connect to you wires from your throttle

I upgraded my two stroke to one of these several years ago. Have had NOTHING but problems. Mainly with the carb clogging up. Especially first thing in spring.
Last year, I took the carb apart first partially, blasted it with carb cleaner, re assembled, and nothing. Took it completely apart, SOAKED it in carb cleaner, put it all back, nothing.
Picked up a new (better) spark plug, and bought a brand new carb. Same kind. Got it going but by end of summer it was harder and harder to get started.
Spring again, and here we go yet again. Pull pull pull and NOTHING NOTING NOTHING. It's not even trying.
So... got it all apart, about to start cleaning again, MIGHT even replace it with another kind (still doing some research on that.)
What I can say, maybe as a warning to everyone. The jets on this thing are darn near microscopic. I watched one video where the guy bought a micro set of drill bits, found one that just fit, then went up one size and widened the jets just a tiny bit. I kinda wanted to try this on the original carb I took off but never did. So anyone ever do that? Does it work?
I'm thinking it might be worth it to put in that non ethanol gas instead of plain old gas station gas. Maybe that will help????
I swear, I put several THOUSAND miles on my old 2 stroke and never had as many problems.
I won't even go into the transmission issues I had. (That was because the guy I bought mine from was a moron. Had to replace pretty much everything in his kit except the motor itself.

Thanks for the video. Have you been far enough inside either this engine or a GXH to tell if there's room for an additional magneto coil or two for better bike lighting? Current practice seems to be to steal a bit from the ignition magneto coil via the kill switch - but that only goes so far before you have no spark.

Where the hell can you find screws and bolts for this engine? I need one of the M5 bolts for my carburetor and an M5 nut that fastens the flywheel onto the engine block.

What is the yellow button still on the throttle side for?
You can go to great speeds but only for one or two mins at a time any longer and you are taking a great risk upgrading to sealed bearing is the only way to go. The sealed bearings are expensive and hard to find but if you want to live a long life with out a permanent head injury
I have the same engine its topping out at like 15 miles per hour, speeds up so dam fast feels like it wants to go faster but gets all shakey. So i gotta constantly gass it then let off. And sugestions?

I installed a new after market air filter earlier this week. When choke is off it sputters at first on low end until I really get into. Do I just need to adjust the carb screw so there is more fuel added to the mix?
Aside from the initial attachment to the engine, do the ends of the Flowed Bowl Drain Hose and Overflow Drain Hose attach anywhere else or do the ends hang down freely allowing excess to drip ?

hi terry this looks like the engine t that comes with my motorized esky. it has maybe been used a total of 1-2 hours and pull start pulled out. Had it replaced from a lawnmower shop no dramas. then maybe 3 months later started first go and pull start came out again. so went back to same lawnmower repair shop and left for a day only to be told it is irreparable? I'm sydney Australia here mate.

Check your spark plug and wire for spark. The problem is there.

+crzyswayze Hi this can mean a few different things, first thing is you may have your engine oil over full, take your dip stick out and on the stick you will see xxxx's the oil should only be half the way up those xxxx's.Next if you have tipped your engine over to one side that can cause oil to come out your filter.Clean your filter and make sure your oil level is not too high.Terry

Yes i left gas in my carb over the winter and now it won't run right....whip me :) there is a little red rust in the bottom of the bowl. when i clean the carb, what can i do to treat that rust so it won't cause anymore problems? thanks man
There is not really much you can do about the rust, but here is what you should have done there is a drain that can be opened with a flat screw driver then shut off your fuel the open the drain and leave it open, now your carb will remain dry and not much chance of rust.
One other thing you can do is use a product called prolong fuel stabilizer this will keep your fuel from going bad.

Yeah thanks Terry for your reply the damndest thing and it happens every once in awhile it's what you call a major brain fart man I was using the ground on solenoid and put it on the block which was causing it obviously not to spark. I figured this out after I bought a new magneto flywheel new solenoid which I really needed and the spark plug which is cool to have an extra. This stuff usually happens to me when I got 20 things going on at once and this is most of that every day of my life. So its all good now it's the learning experience in the 41 to concentrate and focus into it and slow down

Ok there is something you need to understand your stock bicycle was not built to go over 20 MPH for a sustained time perioud. If you do your bicycle bearings will over heat and wear out realy fast, so fast that you can have a catastrophic failure while you are riding at speeds greater than 20 MPH.

hey man im reading in my manual for the huasheng 4 stroke 49cc engine and it says there is an engine on off swicth. I have yet to find one so im guessing the manual is incorrect. would you please confirm this so i don't screw up my engine.
It also says their is a speed selecter... manual wasnt translated propperly or something..

My choke lever was broken off during shipping,I can barely turn it with my fingers, but I just leave it off for now because it will still start in 25 degree weather after about 10 pulls, also boygoesfast on eBay has the choke lever for $7.59 but I don't know how to put it on?
i just drilled out Honda throttle lever loosened the self locking nut on it then added a grounding mount at the hardware store and attached a return spring to motor mount and ran the honda unaltered and DID NOT VIOLATE THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY. Your approach violates the Honda 3 year Warranty.

Well if you have this engine you are stuck with what you have, at one time you could get a 4G replacement but they are not being sold in North America at this time. Try to search for a 4G T Belt Drive 5:1 ratio for tapered shaft.

Ok this is tripping me out...I have a Huasheng 49cc 4 stroke ..Had it for couple years and it ran great.. On night it just died.. Got home checked it all out found no spark.. Checked plug got no resistance through electrode ,new it was shot out got a new one..Still no work..Checked coil was ok resistance was not really good so just bought a new one.. got the other day installed STILL NO SPARK.. I know the concept of this operation, the flywheel mags strong as hell, made sure ground was where it suppose to be.. and their is no kill switch so that is not problem. What else could it beeee?

Ordered my engine from bikeberry and the stock carb doesnt seem to have an idle mixture screw. It is just a flush pin that has no way of adjusting it. The engine itself feels like it's slipping/revs higher than the speed it puts out and will not idle with the choke off so i'm sure this is the problem. Just cant seem to find a way to adjust the idle. Any help?
