- Once the LED modules are removed from the door skins and fiber optic light pipe, just a matter of ordering the correct LEDs and getting help with the small soldering if needed.

Great M3 interior swap choice, have this on my 335i with extended Novello lower dash and center console palladium blue/ silver
Haha liked your intro! So a sub from Ansterdam!
Hey there are 10 existent subscribers
Progress! I can quit saying “both” now. Thanks mom and dad.
@13:35 Light pipe. Thanks for the vid. Needed help removing rear interior quarter panel for seat belt assistant repair.
No problem 👍
be easy on yourself brother. thanks for the video
Top work
Best. Intro. EVER. lol
haha, thanks. Honesty man... just makes sense.
Thanks
My friend just did this mod on his CZcamss channel! I’ll show myself the door…
How to adjust the brightness??
Pro tip. If you take that final pic you showed in the video and put that as the thumb you'll get alot of clicks
Thanks pro.
Hi - I've been looking into this recently after I noticed my drivers side one wasn't working...and now I can't unsee it! 😖
So, in my case my LED has given up and I'd just like to replace it with another OEM orange one. Would I need to still do pretty much everything you've done here and re-solder a new LED on the circuit board etc!?
no, get on realoem.com and look up the part number for the emitter itself and swap in the new one and you should be good.
Do you have the part number or the link for fpc euro (stock led)?
Realoem.com is awesome for part number lookups.
Are the new white LED's actually as bright as they look in the final photos? Or is the brightness around the same as the OEM amber leds?
This is my question too. The amber LED’s are so dim their almost useless. You can hardly see them on the front doors, on the rear doors their a lot brighter for some reason. Mines an E93, not sure if that makes a difference.
Sorry for the delay guys. If you selected different LEDs, you could get much brighter than stock, but the ones I got were rated at the same number of whatever the unit was measuring light output that the original ones were. I wish I had gotten brighter, double that, if you have a dark colored armrest beneath it.
Ambient lighting in the door & rear quarter panels of my E92 are very dim and weak... compared to other people's E92's.. Do you think replacing the LED connectors would fix the problem?
that implies power isn't going through the connectors at high enough levels to properly light up the LED in there but what you probably need is the brightest SMD swapped in you can or figuring out how to fire your own LED into the rod and not even utilize the stock system.
Awesome vid! Shout out from uk. Does anyone know how is that optic fibre tod called or part number?
I doubt I could track down the order receipt, however realoem.com is where I looked up the part
Despite i set the brightness to max, it doesn't look like your stock orange. Any thoughts to fix it? Thanks
Higher output SMDs I went with middle of the road ones that had roughly the same output as the stock ones but I forget the unit they used to measure the brightness.
How do you set the brightness level ?
Dope video! By any chance did you check to see if the actual LED fiber slides out from the door panel? I'm thinking about doing something similar but replacing the the LED fiber and light source then splicing the oem wires to power the new set up
Did you do it?
@alexis salvatierra It isn’t a fiber but a rod. A brittle one. You can remove it from the black plastic but that will almost the rod snaps somewhere and won’t properly carry light beyond the fracture so be careful.
You can remove the light guide from the black housing, it's just clipped in. I used a flathead screwdriver to get it out. However be careful it breaks easily
Great work. Very funny. Also thank you for not using the stupid montage music. Subscribed
Are those m3 door cards with the individual sound system?
I know I’m replying like four months later, but I don’t have notifications set up for these comments. Those are indeed M3 door cards, and the grills that came with them, however, just reused my speakers underneath which where I think one notch beneath that, but not the base.
What the diod do u buy?Caracteristics?stats?
sorry, I didn't get the notification and just saw it tonight. www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/osram-opto-semiconductor/lw-a6sg-v2ba-jkpl/?qs=3W28jC%252bmlM0PDjTJPmMQmA%3D%3D&countrycode=US¤cycode=USD
Do you have a link with orginal color but brighter
I don't, but recommend getting on an electronic supply site and you can get exactly what you want out of the SMD you choose.
hey brother, i wanted to do this mod, but unfortunately the leds from the link arn't avaliable anymore... do you have a second one maybe? or do you know where i can find them? thanks
dang! let me at least find the name of the site I got mine from, and I'd just go there and search for SMD. -- This should get you pretty close: www.mouser.com/c/optoelectronics/led-lighting/led-emitters/
@@bwhobackk hey i hope you are still reading the comments. i changed all of that and suddenly the rear light guide ( the plastic straw where the light goes through ) broke on the rear side. how do i replace this? i took the light out but the new one is kinda bend and its impossible to put it back in place without breaking it. do you have tipps or anything for me? it would help me so much.
you deserve more subs so +1 from me (y)
cheers and thank you!
where can you buy them?
Sorry for the delay I don’t have notifications set up in such a way that I see these. I was able to get mine through FCP Euro, or Turner motorsport I think.
Hello, could you please help me. my light stripe broke on the rear left. i took the broken one out and wanted to replace it with a new one. how do i get the new one in? the stripe on the rear is bend from ex work and doenst get it without getting broken. can you please help me?
I only had to do one of my four that broke and it has been ages so I don't remember it clearly. I do remember thinking it's damn near impossible and that it looked like one had to feed the new optical tube through the long slit from the bottom, then pulling it through while it was perpendicular to the black plastic piece, then once enough has been pulled through, you kinds swivel it into place: part that interfaces with the LED comes down, and the tail comes up.-- I recommend working very very slowly and looking it all over to make sure you understand the shapes involved. If the optic pipe quits moving freely, find out why instead of forcing it.
Lube both pieces and if in doubt, be OK with mangling or damaging the black part since it's mostly not visible when reinstalled. The only other thing I can think of is looking up the actual workshop repair manual for our cars in hopes some procedure is in there. -- Good luck!
@@bwhobackk thank you so much i ordered a new one i hope it goes well the rear ones are really bad to replace but the front row is so easy
@@ysmke-4234 best of luck, e92 brother.
@@bwhobackk im e93 but its the same thing. I did it. It was really hard but the way u told me was impossible. I needed to take the molding a little bit off where the light stripe goes in. When i pulled it a bit apart from the door trim i was able to play with the stripe to finally move it into the hole and get it out from the other side and plug it into the connector. The molding was kinda glued from behind i needed to screw it open a little. Thank you so mich for your effort and help after so many years i still was able to count on you. Good luck❤️
Hello i am from germany , Whats the Name of this typ of led‘s. Do you know it? Thank you
hello! Sorry for the delay. I need to configure my notifications to show me more comments. Here is the part I ordered but there is latitude for variation: www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/osram-opto-semiconductor/lw-a6sg-v2ba-jkpl/?qs=3W28jC%252bmlM0PDjTJPmMQmA%3D%3D&countrycode=US¤cycode=USD
You can get different colors, brightnesses, etc. I got the brightest one I could find at the time that was in the white temperature I wanted but I would go even brighter if I could do it again. So long as the SMD/LED is the same size as the one you're replacing, should work fine.
hey hast du die bestellt ?
@@danielwinter2478 , if you're talking to me then yes I did order them here: www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/ams-OSRAM/LW-A6SG-V2BA-JKPL?qs=3W28jC%252BmlM0PDjTJPmMQmA%3D%3D&countrycode=US¤cycode=USD
I would get even brighter ones if I did the project over again.
@@bwhobackkcan you send a link of brighte rones because i am looking for them…and maybe if you have them in blue that would be better for me
🤣🤣🤣👌
Really worth the headache?
To me it has been. Nobody else I know has this and I like that I did it. Also helps kinda modernize the look of the interior and make it feel more spacious at night... especially if you have tint and it's relentlessly dark inside the cabin.
@@bwhobackk To each his own!
