  • 3 Africamps in 6 days ! What an experience. Since all these camps are structurally the same we decided show you guys what differentiates each one. We found that the locations , landscape and activities where the best part as each location offers something different making a special experience. We started off with Klein Karoo Africamps , their first camp to be built , situated just outside Oudtshoorn overlooking the swartberg mountains in the distance. We started our day early with a meerkat game drive , spotting these furry fellows with some warm coffee is stunning. A communal pool area is great for cooling down on hot Karoo days! Oudtshoorn is known for their ostrich farming - we went on a tour to see baby ostritch and learnt about the products produced from their eggs and feathers. We even tasted ostrich meat in our braai basket delivered from Africamps. Before leaving we visited Cango caves, a truly eye opening experience. Our next stop was Kam’Bati Africamps just outside Swellendam. Situated around the canola farms this place is yellow heaven in season. We were treated to a braai basket which we enjoyed on the large deck. The next morning we had some rainy conditions but woke to our delicious breakfast basket waiting on the deck , so we decided to light an indoor fire making the entire tent warm and cosy. We made sure to light the wood fired hot tub to ensure a warm relaxing end to the day. Just before we left we decided to make use of some of the activities on premises such as the putt putt course to loosen up our legs before the next camp. A 2 hour drive landed us in Stanford Hills Africamps , among the grape vineyards. We went to the wine tasting and tried Stanford hills wine that is produced and manufactured on premises. You are able to wander the vineyards by foot or the pleasure of a horse back tour around the farm and up the mountain to scenic view points. These camps are set high up on the foot of the mountains which is a great for sunsets in the wood fired hot tub! We received the Africamps breakfast and braai basket which is filled with local produce which differ from each camp giving you a sense of farming in the area.
