    Turturro and Walken are the two actors that I’ve always believed instantly make any movie better when they’re a part of it. Having them together in Severance is a dream come true for me.

      He's not underrated at all, he's been a Hollywood A-Lister for like 30 years. The big lebowski is one of the most famous cult movies ever made and he's a huge feature. And transformers are actually one of the biggest franchises ever.. So he's actually the opposite of underrated. ...

      I get what you're saying. I absolutely loved the whole casting of The Batman because there were no faces I was tired of seeing. A lot of great actors who haven't got the recognition they deserve. Farrell, Pattinson and Dano are phenomenal actors and I loved to see them get into a huge franchise like this and really be the main stars. Nolan had actors like Oldman, Neeson, Freeman and Caine who are obviously incredible but they were already huge names at the time of The Dark Knight.

      I get what you are saying. I realise he's a great actor but I didn't know he was that good because the first time I ever saw him was in an Adam Sandler film. I'm glad he got the Falcone role because he nailed it.

    He played Ambrose Monk, Detective Adrián Monk's older brother. I thought his portrayal was incredibly sensitive and profound. If you weren't a Monk fan you may have missed it, but it's a real testament to the caliber of this actor.

      A mob boss character in a superhero -movie could've been over the top, but he played it like he was doing a Godfather movie. The actors, director and screenwriters did a great job with this film.

    Rounders was a great movie with very memorable performances. Turturro had a small role, but as usual, he absolutely nailed his role as a seasoned Poker Grinder.

      I guess that I understand. It's a small role with limited emotional range. But, I could make a strong argument that Knish is the second most important character in the movie.

    Turturro is one of those rare actors who can play any role flawlessly. I can’t think of a single movie he’s in that I did not like. I pray that he continues to share his amazing talent with the rest of us.

    John is more than just an actor. He's an intellectual who knows how to read people and applies what he sees in that person in a character he creates that is believable. One of the finest artists ever in motion pictures.

    John Turturro’s portrayal of Herbert Stempel in “Quiz Show” is one of the best performances ever put on film. He was as equally brilliant as the attorney Jack Stone in the HBO series “The Night Of.” He always give you everything he’s got in every role.

    I have always had Mr Turturro at the top of my favorite actor list. I am a fairly old man but I am grateful that CZcams has opened these possibilities; watching actors explain their thoughts. I am grateful to my grandsons for opening my eyes to this type of experience.

    Now that I’ve recently watched the godfather trilogy, he was lowkey giving Don Corleone vibes in The Batman.. I really like John Turturro man. To be honest, I hadn’t seen him in a movie since transformers back in ‘07, so I got a lot of nostalgia seeing him star alongside Pattinson, kravitz, etc.

    First time I saw Turturro was in To Live and Die in L.A. His part was a lower level criminal, but his presence and uniqueness were very powerful. I knew right then that he was a Great actor. Has a lot of real range. Incredible actor. Very confident.

He is recognizable, yes, by face, (and that amazing hair!) you can pick him out in a crowd, but that is not what the poster meant, imo. I'm guessing Turturro likes it that way, he leads a quiet life in Brooklyn, with his social worker wife--not looking for the glitz and glamour. I respect him for that.

      Agree. I ran into him in L.A. five years ago, I recognized him instantly becuase I like movies, but I think nobody else did so I asked for a picture and he said yes! And when I told my family and friends I ran into John Turturro they said, who? It was until I showed them the picture, that they recognized him. However, they couldn't remember in what movie they'd seen him! They only knew who he was but couldn't name a movie!

    I always wish these were longer. He's got about 20 more that I'd love to hear him talk about. Even obscure ones like "Brain Donors", I'd be thrilled to hear the story of. You should at least double the length of these and do twice as many films.

    Julian in The Color of Money is another great character of Turturro's. He seems to have a way of makin' a common type persona very animated and interesting. When he shifts his eyes with mouth slightly open as a response to the zeal of an individual, classic! Turturro can simply gesture and relay over the emotion. Dude is awesome

    This was such a terrific and thoughtful look back by Turturro, who I think is still so often underrated. He's given so many incredible performances, but his subtle, wistful performance and character in THE NIGHT OF has stayed with me forever, and that final moments of that movie still make me tear up just thinking about them. Brilliant actor.

    Saw him twice in NY; once on the subway ("Loved you in Barton Fink!" Just before I got off, leaving him to say a baffled "Thanks." ). And once in Little Italy with my dad. Dad give him an Alaska hat with a moose on it. He enjoyed that.

    Not enough people watched The Night Of, unfortunately. He's great in it, first time I saw Riz and he's also great in it and Michael K Williams is great in everything he's done so...awesome under appreciated series.

      Season 2? That was released as an 8 part miniseries. It was never supposed to have more than 1 season. Just a heads up that you can stop waiting 😅😂

    I still remember realizing how exceptionally talented he is when I saw Barton Fink in the cinema when it came out. He just blew me away (and many others, winning best actor at Cannes that year). He's absolutely captivating - magnetic - and just draws you into the character he plays. One of the most underrated actors out there.

    First saw him in Unstrung Heroes and got hooked ever since. He's one of the very best around. Love him to bits and always enjoy his acting and every movies I've seen him in. I hope he keeps acting. Thanks John!!!!

    For those who don't know the writers of The Night Of, whom John mentions in this, one of them wrote for The Wire and The Color of Money, the other wrote for The Irishman, Schindler's List, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Gangs of NY, Searching for Bobby Fischer, and Awakenings (really underrated De Niro film I had to watch in a Psych class). So they were indeed as talented and great as John says they were, even just going by their credentials.

    Just saw 'The Batman'. Did NOT know you were going to be in it. Was such a great treat; I love when you fly in under the radar like that. Instantly doubles my subjective emotional investment when you do. What can I say? I'm a fan.

    Turturro is amazing. I loved him as Knish in Rounders and in Fading Gigolo which I first saw only recently. His more nuanced roles like those are the ones I enjoy the most but he's a lot of fun when he cranks it up too. Always a plus to find in a cast.

    Brother were Art Thou one of my faves, loved The Big Lebowski, loved the Quiz Show, He was great in Transformers, have yet to see Barton Fink, The Night of and The Batman. John was definitely one of the reasons those movies are great.

    I agree with him, I hate watching a movie and you can't hear what they are saying so you turn the tv up to 50 and then the next scene the music blows the speakers out.
