- Our popup camper has suffered extensive damage and we're not sure it's worth repairing. There are so many things that have gone wrong and it is time to decide whether to do the repairs. We love camping, so we will need to figure something out!

GOAL UPDATE:

I've camped my entire life. I won't say my age, but I'm a seasoned camper! 😂 First off, we use a little Buddy heater instead of our propane furnace. It heats very well on a 1 lb cylinder. Secondly, we have a working sink (no toilet/shower) and we choose not to use our water tank because it's more weight carrying it down the road. If you get to a campsite with strong chlorinated water, it's not pleasant to use anyway. You can put an in-line filter if you really want to use the sink. I just put a small tub in there and I'm good to go. Also, if you don't use the water, you don't have to winterize your camper every year. That's a huge plus for us! Just for reference, we have a 2004 pop-up that we love!! Safe travels!!!
Same here. We have never used the water tanks..too much weight and more work to clean the tanks...no thanks. No toilet but, I take my "bucket toilet" in at night and it's just a garbage bag with kitty litter...just for night time and early morning. We are fine with using the facilities. No hot water on the camper but, sometimes I bring our portable tankless water heater that we purchased and we set it up for outside for the "washing station". We made a nice stand for it and it sure comes in handy for longer stays. We also have a small ceramic heater that works well for chilly nights. We took the battery and propane tank off..just plug in everywhere we go for us. We run the heater and microwave on a separate power cord. We have a 2007 StarCraft pop up that we love. I have enjoyed making it clean, comfortable, cozy and cute. It has never been stored outside and it shows.

I have enjoyed watching your videos and I highly recommend selling your pop up to someone who can do the repairs it needs. Constant repairs/work takes the fun out of camping. Hopefully, your next project will work out better for your family. It was a great experience. Wishing you the best!

I would just buy a bolt lock and put it on the door with a padlock.

Yay!! Thanks for watching! Let me know if you think we should repair the camper or just cut our losses. I love our popup camper, but I feel like it's going to be too expensive to repair.
If it wasn't for the canvas I would say sell it and get something newer

Yes, that's the conclusion I'm coming to, too. Makes me sad, but it's probably for the best!
@@hannahslist15 I has a couple in my life time and the canvas always rotted cost to much to fix . The other stuff could be fixed or rigged together. All depends on what you can afford. Wish you guys the best wherever way you go .
