The British left by drawing arbitrary borders and dividing whole cultures that went with it. No one can claim ownership over clothes like sarees, lungis, etc coz it exists over multiple nations. Things that come/occur independently after 1951 are Indian, the rest it’s a given that we could be sharing common things with Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka etc.

No. You don’t. Punjab exists in 2 countries. It doesn’t negate one of the other. Same goes with Bengal and Bengali culture. There are a lot of Tamil people in Sri Lanka and a lot of Nepali people live in India. We don’t have a single unique identity. @@AK.AK.12That’s not how it works. India didn’t exist before our republic was established in 1951. It was a lot of local kingdoms managed by the British. The British left by drawing arbitrary borders and dividing whole cultures that went with it. No one can claim ownership over clothes like sarees, lungis, etc coz it exists over multiple nations. Things that come/occur independently after 1951 are Indian, the rest it’s a given that we could be sharing common things with Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka etc.
