Thanks for the review. I just picked up a pair, and I can't figure out how to attach the barn doors and the snoots 😬 what am I missing?

Nice video. I wonder how you set the light for this video. Is it bounced light?

They are awesome lights. The only more efficient production lights available at the moment are HMI, kino, and new high powered LED lights by Arri, etc. These lights are very expensive right now and out of reach for smaller production houses. Fluorescents and LED panels just aren't powerful enough (or affordable in the case of LED panels) to be suitable for much of film production although they've been successfully adopted by videographers and TV. Some day though. What are your thoughts?

are tungsten lights going by the boards? Seems like all the tv and indie ppl are using LEDs

I was just at Warner Brothers the other day and the Big Bang Theory set was lit with 100% Mole Richardson tungsten lights. Mostly fresnels but some soft zip lights. There was a sea of flags and nets all over the place to shape the light. These lights are indestructible.

Moles are awesome and they last forever.

The only problem I think is that people are moving away from tungsten and toward more cooler and efficient lightings.

You should check out our fresnels! You get all the studio-grade quality and specs you would want in a fresnel without spending so much money!

What is ridiculous? Too expensive, is that what you are saying? Well, it is heavy chunks of metal and glass lenses, made to last. Meaning they don't nbeed to be crafted new in huge quantities, so while an insane amount if them have been manufactured over the years, they are not exactly conveniently mass produced in China like the stuff you buy at Walmart of Home Depot. Quality is expensive, quality in limited series is very expensive, deal with it.

Telling poor people to get over how expensive things are. What a pro.

Film equipment is known to be marked up, but this is ridiculous!
