I mean… it kinda does though..? Maybe not inherently by having sex but because they are shooting porn / having sex. Considering Pearl only gets violent because she’s so aroused by what she’s seeing but no one she propositions will doing anything with her, in turn making her want to kill them.. hell even at the end, Pearl calls Maxine a “deviant little whore” having seen what she’s done (making the porn) soooo they all kinda DO get targeted because of sex.. cuz something tells me they wouldn’t have been attacked had they not been having sex. Howard even complains they are “enticing” his wife. They definitely get killed because of sex. Hell, one could argue “those that have sex die” was always nonsense, and if anything this movie seemingly perpetuates it vs doesn’t.
fun fact: their deaths were foreshadowed throughout the movie! Wayne ~ when he says, “peoples eyes are gonna pop out of their damn skulls when the see this!” Bobby Lynne ~ The painting on the club is of her getting bitten by an alligator Jackson ~ when he says “I’ve had enough farmers tryna shoot me for a lifetime.” Howard ~ when wayne says, “you don’t wanna give the old condriac a heart attack.” to lorraine & she does when he is dragging her body back into the house. but i’m not sure where RJ’s & Lorraine’s are foreshadowed
X, Pearl, and Maxxxine.. in chronological order its, "Pearl x Maxine" They filmed Pearl while filming X, btw, and Pearl is very slow to start, its mainly just about who Pearl is as a character. Mia Goth does phenomenally well with both characters though, cant wait to see Maxxxine
X Is Such A Incredible Movie And All The Characters Are So Likeable And They To Help And Mia Goth Killed The Role Of Maxine And On Top Of That She Played The Old Lady To And She Plays Young Pearl In Pearl Which I Can't Wait For That Reaction, I Still Love X To This Day And Was Such A Breath Of Fresh air In The Horror Genre. Keep Up The Great Work ❤️
This movie just gets better each time you watch it, especially after watching the prequel 'Pearl' . Love all the death foreshadows of the characters you notice more on a second watch

Jenna's scream in this movie is one of the greatest in horror history. You can just HEAR the horror in it.
My fav film this is!!! This film doesn’t punish the sex workers for being sex workers or having sex unlike other horror films. Such an amazing film.
