George: “If we knew we were going to be the Beatles, we would have tried harder.”
So true. They didn't even practiced their instruments. They justt had a gift and let it flow through them
@@seres-de-luz Paul has said the music of the cosmos just came to them, on some songs he said they had to work for.
Ulises Calvo of course they practiced, they played pretty much 24/7 in Hamburg
@@Michael-hc2vs Only Paul and George substantially improved on their instruments over the 1963 - 1970 period though. John and RIngo not so much.
@@pascalecnto68 True, but during the period of time they were in Hamburg (which was stated above) they played around 8 hours everyday for a period of 3 months (?) I believe. Performing is practice, but yes you are correct in saying they did not practice. I feel like when you are just composing music, if you can play everything you want to write (in some cases you do not even have to do this) then you really do not need to spend as much time grinding technique and other elements of practice. Not trying to say you are wrong, just wanted to state my opinion.

Yes you are.
Yes you do.
That was so hilarious.
Take it your called Ringo and play the drums or else it wouldn't work
Oh yeah
You have to have a couple of classic hit songs that will last to the end of the earth. Live past singers and bands that you influenced and made a name for themselves. Also have a certain age. Until then good luck brotha.
"After the things I've sat through, tonight!"
He deserves to get voted in just for that.
What was he referring too?
yeah what was he referring to??
Jayesh Ajitsaria Paul taps his watch implying ringos going long then ringo makes a joke about the long speeches about ringo that happens before his
Beatles sense of humor. Brilliant!
Shane Wright ...Said Sir Topham Hatt.
“My name is Ringo and I play drums” almost brought me to tears. He’d say that during the early recorded soundtracks/videos of The Beatles where they’d just fool around and have fun. Those boys were exceptional 🥺
He is just so cool 😎
I love how he tells the story like he’s telling his grandkids. So humble and chill.
Ringo actually did the voiceover for a few years on Thomas the Tank Engine in the UK. It was so lovely to listen to. I used to read the books to my son in Ringo's voice/accent (he was a lot more Liverpudlian on the voiceovers in the late 80's). So I guess he has that drawl, making it sound like a simple story he's telling

What a great guy , who wouldn't want to hang out with Ringo ... humble & funny
And high as F-
@@theboig6229 Unlikely. Ringo has been sober for 30 years. If his speech sounds a little slurred, that might be due to age. But the only thing that Ringo is high on these days is Peace and Love.
@Bjarke Stemann I love all of the Beatles' storytelling abilities!
It sucks, that John and George weren't there to cheer Ringo on, with Paul. They'd have been there, too!
@@waynej2608 they were "THERE" with and represented by their widows, Yoko and Olivia

Sir Ringo is the best part of a hard day's night film
And they’ll always be the best of the best. Who can say I was a Beatle besides those 4 guys? Nobody that’s a high horse
Rock royalty..
Love how he doesnt give a shit how hes taking up too much time.
YOU CANT TELL A BEATLE TO GET OFF STAGE. THEY LEAVE WHEN THEY WANT TO LEAVE.
He knows he'll only have this opportunity once and wants to make the most of it.
I wish that he'd have stayed longer.
And that's why Paul stood there the whole time
He should have said, " You made me wait this long to get here, now you are going to have to listen to me for a bit longer. "
Plus HIS was the LAST induction of the night, so there was NO ONE else after him and he had to hear even longer speeches than his, before him! It lasted from 7pm until after MIDNIGHT. I know because I attended the Rock Hall Live Simulcast at the Rock Hall which is only a few blocks from Public Auditorium where the Induction ceremony for 2015 was held in Cleveland. It was the same place where The BEATLES PLAYED on Sept. 15, 1964, I was at that concert. SO it was NICE to see the BACK on that SAME stage again!!
When I see McCartney and Ringo together nowadays with them being the only 2 Beatles left I feel like crying - not even ashamed to admit it! X 😎👌🎶✌️
yes mate, like i started my first band a beatles copy band age11 and with hands that didant open,i opened my left playing so bass much, and is still the only one that opens, and hay i have a 1963 hofner violin bass now, taught 2 that became music teachers,2 that won national championships,,and did gigs like supporting the rocky horror show uk tour 1983 and getting over 1k people singing ;-)
Yes Rob, I'm a big Beatle fan myself.as a person of color,to see only Paul and ringo up there,I just want to tear up emotionally.l hope these two outlive us all.god bless George and good bless John.
I always feel a sense of loss, because how the world lost John, it was just so horrific, an unimaginable way to loose someone, unthinkable. And George, to loose a battle with cancer, at such a young age 58, so sad he was too young. But they were the most beautiful band all time, I'm just grateful for the fact they inducted him while he's still alive.
Love you Ringo, oh and Paul, George and John 😁
Join the club.

Ringo reminds us of what it is like to be young. He seems forever young.
Yes, this was filmed in 2015, and here it is 2020 and he just turned 80 years old a few days ago. Ringo is ageless........
Ooohh yes he is Forever Young, and I admire that so much. Ringo is such an inspiration.

The Beatles are the greatest band that ever graced the planet earth. All four inducted as Beatles and ALL FOUR AS SOLO ARTISTS no band has or will ever achieve that feat.
Indeed man
And there's QUEEN.
@@BessieAlcira queen is great, but not as big and influential as the beatles.
I love Queen as much as the Beatles, but the members of Queen haven’t been inducted as individuals. To my knowledge, only the Beatles have been inducted as a group and as individuals
@@glh7728 they are as big as the Beatles just one step below them. Don't underestimate them.
I love how in the very beginning Paul kisses Ringo on the cheek, hugs him, and rubs the back of his head. You can tell those two men adore each other and are true friends. Super sweet.
and the was RIngo hugs him at that moment. I'm sure he wouldn't want anyone else inducting him.
Paul has never been great at expressing his emotions in public but in here he was obviously touched, and got a little teary eyed watching his brother being loved and celebrated by the world!
Ringo is an international treasure. He must be protected at all costs.

I love watching Ringo and McCartney in interviews. They've been in the spotlight for so long they both have a cool easiness and swagger in front of an audience.
And George. RIP
Ringo can talk as long as he wants, I love him.

I just love Ringo and his stories! And then his awesome humor..."Am I holding you?"😂
Ringo is from the future u can't deny that

“Ringo are you from the future?” Family guy
Ringo's drumming on She Said She Said & Rain, his cool riffs/patterns on Come Together & Ticket to Ride, fabulous. The Beatles changed my life when I first heard them in 1963, aged 13, I'm now 70 and those records still sound as fresh and vital, and he was part of that, part of the groove, keeping it loose and funky. Lets put it this way, he deserves to be in the Hall more than many of the previous inductees...Green Day anyone?
Trevor Mortimer Ticket to Ride’s drum pattern was written by Paul
Big Sky Blue where’d you read that?
I’m 15. Love rock n roll, love elvis, love the Beatles etc... amazing how the power of rock n roll and The Beatles’ genius still lives and prospers today.
I think you picked out all of Ringo's favourite drum parts from the Beatles.
@@aedan2063 It's well known.
He said he plays the drums with his emotions. You can always tell when Ringo is on drums, as he has a very unique style, just perfect for the Beatles. He was the heart of the Beatles, irreplaceable. He said in 1964, I remember it well, "I'd like to end up sort of unforgettable"....Mission: accomplished.
Hello dear,how are you doing?
Ringo, the funny one, hes a cool guy, and hes 80 years, today. Happy birthday Richard.
Finally Ringo Starr -- the heartbeat of The Beatles - gets his due. 'Love Ringo... he's just such a "real" guy. It's interesting to hear his take on the little-known stories of the early days of the greatest band in history. Thank you, Ringo... I know you won't be here forever - but I'm glad you're here now... and I'm even more glad that you were there -- in The Beatles -- back then...when history was made.

When he said it as brilliantly as "I'm Ringo and I play drums!" That was the most powerful thing in its simplicity! That's just how the Beatles were. Very efficient, no wasted energy. They were extremely successful because of their work ethic as much as anything else they did.
So true! Also it shows how iconic he is/they are, just two key words and everyone knows who this legend is. No need for words.
I feel The Beatles rarely said or did anything to impress anyone outside the group, especially when joking around and being cheeky, so they didn't appear as insincere or fake. It's lovely to remember just how close they were, and how they were a private club which allowed us all to enjoy their gifts as musicians as well as very entertaining speakers.
Let the man talk! This might be the only acceptance speech I’d listen to for hours.
Paul wasn't serious. He was just joking around with Ringo.
He's in his mid 70s here and he looks in 40s/50s, this guy makes no sense!
He make all the sense posible. He is Forever Young.
Ringo should book a tour where he just rambles on and imparts his knowledge and recollections. He is a great story-teller.
✌God bless you George✌
✌God bless you John✌
I’m sure very few people in the entire world would approach ringo Starr and tap their watch lol. Two legends just appreciating the praise that at this point is undeniably deserved. Few humans have the impact world wide that they did
Only Paul could have done that. Nobody else alive could
It is so wonderful that Paul and Ringo still play together....
after watching the "get back" docu from disney+ ...my respect to him tripled! he is so lazer focused in his role as the drummer
As the wee lad lay in his hospital bed a fairy was flying by. "Why so sad, little guy?" " I'm in pain and been ill for so long, I've missed school and I'm really unhappy." "Never mind," said the fairy. "One day you'll be famous and become one of the best drummers in the world .Every one will know your name. Oh, and they'll call you Sir Richard Starkey." "Yeah, right, I don't think so," said the boy. And with that the fairy flew on, smiling a little smile.
Ringo mentions how close they were as mates. Honors John and George. Paul kisses his cheek. Peace and love: deep in their hearts.
I could listen to Ringo for a month and not get bored...true legend...
It’s beautiful seeing Paul and Yoko admiring their good ‘ol chum, Ringo.
I could listen to any of the four, all day. "Photograph", always brings a tear to my eye. What a beautiful piece of writing. There's not a single person who can tell you it does nothing for them emotionally. It's an every person's song. If there was a list of songs I'd want to listen to leaving this life, it'd be on there. Just a beautiful man with a huge heart and unfettered talent.
Ringo performed Photograph at The Concert for George --it brought me to tears.
It's honestly curious how watching anything related to Paul and Ringo tears me up. Bless these guys man ❤
The Beatles never seemed to take THEMSELVES too seriously. That has always been one of their biggest charms to me (oh, and a boatload of talent, too).
I love the many shots of Dave Grohl adoring Ringo. Two most iconic drummers in the world
Really famous people almost never grow out of the decade they were famous, Magic Johnson the 80s, Steven Tyler the 70s, Dave Grohl the 90s, just as examples, Magic still has that love and energy of the 80s, Dave Grohl still explains things like a giddy punk rocker from the 90s, so when Ringo hits you with the double peace sign, it feels like the peace and love from the 60s. Great Induction by Paul and wonderful acceptance by the best drummer ever!
Its like Listening to a “Thomas the Train “ narrative.
I think you mean ‘Tank Engine’

best speech ever...it's got REAL stories we NEED to hear.
RIngo has a wonderful sense of humor.
Ringo has always had a wit that never ends , his talent and good humour makes him the type of drummer every bands needs
The 4 of them together were just magic.
And in Get Back, we have seen him own up to his fart. What a legend.

Hello dear,how are you doing?
Wealth and fame hasn't eaten away at Ringos soul...it's his 80th birthday today...still looking younger every day! Happy Birthday Ringo!
I'm glad he carried on talking... one of the most interesting prize induction speeches I've ever heard; Ringo sharing his early experience(s) of rock 'n' roll. I was sorry Paul didn't give Ringo more credit for coming up with incredibly perfect accompaniment for so many Beatles tracks. But Paul's brilliant himself, so... anyway, rock on, Ringo
You don’t interrupt Ringo. Ringo interrupts you
Ringo doesn't let anybody or any circumstances affect his chill demeanor. He's going to take the amount of time he is going to take, period.
Even now, as the Beatles are 80, 79, 78 and 77, they are still out in front, still several levels above, still untouchable and still the absolute best. God bless ‘em, every one. You will never beat a Beatle.
It is interesting watching Paul as he pays close attention to Ringo while he talks.
With one hand in pocket just so Richard doesn't say anything awkward
The BEAT of THE BEATLES!
Ringo has the perfect balance of not being to overbearing and playing just the right way for each song he plays in. Beatles song Tomorrow Never Knows is one of my favorite Ringo rhythms.
Tomorrow never knows! Ringo rarely spoke up, but when he did, the others listened. His opinion was well taken
I saw Ringo Starr at Washington DC on July 4th 1983 he filled in for the beach boys drummer. WILD.
Everyone is awed by Paul. To Ringo he’s just a mate. Ringo fills a room.
Ringo, you are a treasure! Been a fan forever! Thank you forever for just simply being real!

It's amazing to see Ringo Starr then at 75 years old enjoying his time like he don't aged much at all. He really was the coolest Beatle! 🥁🎤
Talk about a dude at peace with himself. To me, Ringo always seems to be kinda stoned cause he's always so smooth and matter of factly about everything. I'm 65 and because of this man, I have been drumming for 54 years. God bless the greatest band that has ever lived: THE FUCKING BEATLES!!! Yeah, man, the fucking Beatles!!!

Ringo was out there sitting with his buddy Joe Walsh, that was the coolest table in the place.
i am so glad they didnt try to pull anything and actually rush him off the stage, i am still pissed off about when Frank Sinatra was rushed off stage at the 94 grammys. some people get all the time they need PERIOD!
