Never knew what Agamas were until recently but feel so familiar despite having no formal training. This is beautiful part of being Hindu, even I am discovering the gifts of life enhancing habits that my elders passed on and listening was and is my main skill. Reading and writing came after and even then isn't as precise as my listening ability. Sounds vibrate truth.

How when People forget Dharma and run to Shiridi Baba, Sai Baba, this baba that baba, go to temple as fashion parade, break coconut and go around the temple, in Temple, the main deities are ignored and public go to baba pictures and as Dakshina is more to Baba, pujari who lives on Dakshina sit most often at Baba place
It is difficult now, because we are now a secular nation, minorities won't let that happen

I grew up in Islamic household as young, and I been Hindu for 6 yr. Now. I have never knew Hinduism has such a precise practice. I been searching knowledge of this in Hindu for long time. Why is this knowledge so difficult to obtain and learn?? I cannot find any Agamas with English translation anywhere.

Saffiyeh Jaffer ,madam tantra ,agamas are not to be revealed openly..it is a masked process..you have to find a tantric guru(beware of the fake sex maniac gurus)..and then study it..agama/tantric hinduism are a bit different from the vedic Hinduism..tantric Hinduism is more Dravidian in nature...am also in the quest of knowledge regarding basic tantra /agama knowledge...Tibetan Buddhism is also a branch of this tantric Hinduism..

On the one hand, Siva is one Entity manifest everywhere. On the other hand, the very word siva translates to "that which is not". Is it not attributed to Siva as saying to Apasmara ... "I am, and I am not. what is not, is also me."? ... fascinated by this concept, even the likes of Einstien are said to have commented Siva to be the equivalent of dark matter as we know it Today. Whether true or otherwise, it would be up to those who bore witness to confirm or deny.
Who to believe? Who not? A real mentor is said to only create jignasa in the mind of the pupil. Learning then is the pupil's own responsibility. Knowledge is individually acquired, and is not a commodity that can be traded, be it by lectures or writing books.
Isn't Siva the one Entity whose worship knows no rules, no particular form or ritual? What of all the anecdotes of Him accepting whatever offered, as long as it was given by a heart pure and no expectation of receiving anything in return. One who is utterly devoid of likes or dislikes. Perhaps the only One of whom it is said .... sura asura namaskritam.
Personally it would be considered deliverance when I too could say in truth, like Him, I have no expectation ofpraise, nor fear of reprisal .. how many lifetimes it would take me for that state of being is known only to Siva. On that Day none of this would matter, when there is ananda of sannidhya, as well as sannidhya of ananda ...
Yet, it was fascinating to listen to the level of detail presented, even though less justification and more content might have been be desirable. To a non-believer no amount of justification would be sufficient to change their mind, and to the rest it is just waste of Time.

Good introduction but not really much content. Or may be I my self have read too many books like vigyan bhairav tantra, astavakra gita, bhagwad gita, few upanishads, mahakal samhita, mantra mahodadhi, patanjal yoga pradeep, gheranda samhita etc.
Is there any reliable book available on SHIV AGAMAS ? some one please tell me...
