    Great tips except when talking about Burton EST system and bindings. I have had much better luck using non EST bindings with the channel system. The fact the EST bindings mount outside the feet instead of below on the feet actually make them come loose quickly due to the distance between mounting points causing more torsion and stress. I tossed my Burton EST bindings for traditional bindings with a disk that supports them and they work so much better. For instance you can mount any union binding on an EST channel board and have much better luck and not have to retighten them every single day. I use my Union Force bindings on my Burton Free Thinker and it works soooooooo much better than my Burton Cartel EST bindings. Other than that great vid. Just making sure people know they DO NOT have to get EST bindings, in fact, EST bindings are terrible.

      What do u mean by binding stiffness?

    • @cnoevo99
      @cnoevo99 Před 2 lety +7

      @@beamer_boi2995 the material the binding is made from impacts how stiff the binding is meaning how much it flex’s. A soft binding means you can move around and it doesn’t transfer every movement to the board and hence is not as responsive but more forgiving if your off balance a bit.

    Great video, just for reference you don’t have to buy “Burton channel Bindings” for a channel board whatever brand it is.
    Almost every binding these days will go on it. And burton bindings go on 4 hole pattern boards also. But they do also have a specific binding for the channel (EST).
    I have burton bindings That I use on ride or capita boards and I also have Rome bindings I ride on my burton board.

    Hey Nev! I'm an experienced rider about to have my first non-rental board (buying one xD). I'm all about carving, park and butters. You think the Burton Process camber is a good choice? Thx!!

    The best explanation ever I had.. I'm intermediate. I bought a rocker camber beginner and I learn to much in just only one season, I can run at blue runs after 2 months, next season I'll buy a full camber because I like curves, carving.. I'm looking for Ride Shadowban or Burton Custom (camber) profile.. I'm not considering fly banana style..

    About bindings: Union bindings could be easy mounted on Burton boards because of discs....

    I am linking turns now and getting into carving so not brand new but still just entering intermediate. When I got o buy my first board and stop renting, should I look into a camber rather than a rocker?

    Fantastic video. Although i do feel bad for this dude.He didnt even get a chance to snowboard. The season had ended before my guy finished explaining the molecular structure of each individual snowboard.

    I'm pretty sure I went to school with Tim (United Kingdom). I haven't seen him since my school days (like, 16 years ago). He looks super familiar and sounds the same. Was a year or two younger than me. No idea what his surname is though. Crazy 'small world' moment here to find him on a video whilst I'm searching out snowboarding advice haha. I am 99% sure it's the exact same guy.
    Awesome and educational video btw, this has helped me in making my own decision for my snowboard purchase.
