- Getting started with our new Hot Wheels / diecast racing track build. I talk about key lessons learned building a diecast racing track, look at the track build progress so far and review the plans for the rest of the track.

That's right! Press ahead because you've got to have a plan to change it.
Looks good can't wait for the finished product. Ty for the hard work and ty for hosting. ❤
Thanks Jerry
Great! Looking forward to see the whole thing come together! 💪🙌
Best of luck with the build. I know myself the difficulty of not having the room size to build large. I look forward to the next update and the final layout and races on it. Cheers mate.
"Keep your roof to the Sun". Mahalo! 🤙🏽
Looking good and I know you will make it work in the space that you have.
Safety first on the stairs - I was thinking of suggesting a hinged cover of some sort as well.
Take your time to get it right to how you want it as it is you that is doing it - we will all just love to watch the racing.
Great update !
Thanks Paul. I'm feeling confident on this one. I'm probably going to use some thick OSB board to create a hinged platform, or just a cover I can remove. Will help stop all the heat coming in when I'm working in there too 🥵
All faith, mate! _Solutions Focused_
You've established a skill set on the production/editing side to squeeze a lot of entertainment into your show.
All my best 💯😎🏁
Thanks Chris!
badass
Looks great can not wait to see more thanks for sharing your journey in track building. I myself have a limited space. That is why i keep my track the same not really room to make it any bigger or different. Especially with my knowledge of building supports ect. Beat of luck to you!!
@@ricksdiecastracing thanks Rick, looking forward to sharing more. You're track is great with a unique theme. We can only work with the space we have, it's about what we do with it and how we bring it to life with the production 👽👾
Ive bought a fair bit of 3d printed track from thingiverse ,cults 3d and a few crash racer sets. Putting it together in sections but just cant get it together in continuous run. Have a 3 year old and 8 year old so difficult all round.Good luck with it all looks great.maybe one day ill get mine on utube as well.
@@RalphsRacing1 I used all crash racers on my Corkscrew Laguna track. Getting the track support right is a lot of trial and error, and does take a lot of space. I built mine in the attic. You will get there though! Good luck with the build.
Those downhill slopes look too steep for any of those turns. I like to experiment with the turns by adjusting the slopes to give the cars the right amount of gravity energy to get around the turns without flying off the tracks. In the end I would want all four racing cars to have a higher chance of crossing the finish line.
Thanks for your suggestion and for watching Keith. I am testing everything as I go with a selection of modified cars from the last tournament, stock cars and test cars people have sent in. So far nothing is coming off, but when I have more of the track built I will be experimenting with the height of that slope. I don't have much height to work with in this room and have to get the track down to the lower ceiling height on the first corner (from the high point of the room - roof is sloped), so the plan is to have a steep drop at the start to pick up the speed and then lower drops than usual elsewhere where I don't have much height left if that makes sense. Will be easy to lower it later if needed.
Nice job so far! Only question is how do you ensure that both lanes are equal and no lane has an advantage with seperated lanes? Do you count the turns inside and out and try to make them equal? Just wondering...
@@TalkingGIJoe thanks. I've made it equal with the turns to address that. I also always race with cars all taking at least one turn in each lane anyway
@@XRDiecastRacing ok thanks! That was my thought but since I have not built one yet... just looking to clarify before I start in with the layout!
You could make a hinged standing platform the covers the stairs when you are filming.
@@Vapor_Diecast_Racing yeah good idea, I was actually thinking something along those lines. I may do the same with the safety barrier
