- I took a train from Jakarta to Surabaya, Indonesia, and decided to splurge a bit and book the Luxury Sleeper seat!
The Trip was 8 hours long, and my ticket came with a complimentary breakfast and luxury snack box. Fancy stuff! I snuck some snacks aboard as well, just for good measure.

Me and my homies went to Indonesia, friendly people, cheap price on almost everything. Bali, Komodo Island and Raja Ampat. Those 3 were the most memorable places when I went there for a holiday vacation a couple years ago.

@@liewfn9333 Me and my homies went there in 2018, if I remember it correctly; the tour package from Bali to Komodo Dragon Isle was around $1300-1500 (for 6 people), so it was around $250 per person. And it was roughly the same for Raja Ampat. I think that's really cheap. Now let's compare it to my vacation to Maldives (right before COVID) it was around $3000 ish PER PERSON.
Bali offers a huge range of accommodation starting at just $20 a night or more. Not only is accommodation cheaper but the food and activities are also very budget friendly.
Was the Maldives worth visiting? Yes, it was worth it. It was a stunning and unique destination, which also offers incredible services. But the cost does not reflect the quality compared to my vacation to Bali / Komodo Isle / Raja Ampat.

Just a heads up, the place you put your shoes is actually a trash bin so now you know, I was actually surprised seeing it because it's already a sticker indicator that it's a trash bin. Great video btw😆
I like how you're so nice, friendly, and respectful to the locals and everything you experienced in a foreign country, unlike some foreigners who complained a lot about something just because they're not used to it. @@RedHanded1969 Bener, terlalu menutupi juga salah, gue barusan nonton CZcamsr Korea yang masih lugu polos malah kena palak bapak2 tua random, bilangnya mau bantu jadi tour guide, gada bilang dia minta uang di awal, pas udah selesai baru ngomong, malah per orang dipaksa ngasih 150rebu, harusnya kek gini jadi pembelajaran, bukannya ditutupin terus, mau sedenial kayak apa, faktanya negara kita emg msh byk scam & ini bahaya bagi turis yang awalnya mengira negara kita baik2 aja, bayangin lu dateng ke negara orang trus duit lu hangus gitu aja, padahal mungkin budgetmu nggak begitu banyak. Jadi kalo objektif kan turis2 juga bisa berhati2. Ya seperti yang kubilang tadi, salah satu kejelekan Indonesia tuh denial.

Ternyata kereta api di indonesia di ajungin 👍 dr turis mancanegara...mantap KAI yg menyedian kereta tidur buat penumpang...walaupun harganya mahal...kenyaman dan keistinewaan membuat turis mancanegara senang dlm perjalanan dannkepuasannya .. so ....mantap ...75 cipulir 6

that luxury snack box is a missed opportunity to showcase local delicacies. instead of just a choco bun, cordial juice & plain agar-agar, they could've provided premium local cakes and snacks. maybe something special from Gambir or Surabaya, made by locals, using local produce. that's a good way to market their specialty food and could boost their economy too. to be honest they look like stuff you could get at any convenience store. your canned drinks was more luxurious than the boxed juice.
Yeah. I agree. Funny thing is. At Gambir station, there's plenty of shops selling local snacks like lemper, risol, etc. For example on the 2nd floor right next to escalator there's legendary small shop (Been around for decades as far as I remember Gambir), also selling various gorengan.
They could have just collaborate together.
a little advice from me Mr. Tater, just by being able to speak Indonesian, you can travel to all the islands in Indonesia, because we in Indonesia have more than 700 different languages on every island or even in every province in Indonesia, because every ethnic group in Indonesia often uses their own regional language. but they will understand Indonesian because it is our unifying language. thank you Mr. Tater enjoy your trip while in Indonesia 👍🏻
the problem is, it's not something you could do in a day or two, but what you can do is basic travel language, such as numbers and commonly used words

hello tater, I am an indonesian that lives in jakarta and gambir station is actually close to my home! my family always used that train station. you also used one of the best trainlines. ( i think that's what it's called ) also its pronounced surabaya.
