I am so grateful for your information. Thank you! I used to play this with my sons something like 20 years ago. I'm going to give it a try today and follow your instructions. I hope it works. I will be installing it on a Lenovo Legion gaming laptop. I don't think it will work with my racing cockpit equipped with a G29 racing wheel, but hope it works with an Xbox controller. If anyone out there has been able to achieve this, please, let me know. That would be awesome.

I followed everything in the video and the game runs perfectly, except for one tiny tiny issue. Whenever I try to play using a controller connected by Bluetooth, the game will immediately default to whatever HIDI2C is. This happens whenever I leave the options menu, and the analoge portions of the controller (Joysticks, Triggers) won't work in a race. If I plug the controller in, then it works perfectly. The only thing I did differently from your guide was add older saves from another version of NFSPU once everything was already working. This is a very minor issue, and I am only commenting incase anyone has run into anything similar.

Hi Atanis. Yes I did run across the virus warning through Windows defender on that optional patch. I disabled Windows defender and was then able to successfully download the zip file. My question is whether or not I will need to keep Windows defender disabled when I am going to be using that file? Thank you again!

The combined patch link says it's reached maximum download and cannot access. Is there another link by any chance? I got all the way to load a race but soon as the load bar starts, it crashes to windows. I cannot get to the actual race.
You also have a widescreen patch available, and it works perfectly, the only thing that is stretched out is the splash screen and the menus, other than that, the gameplay itself is perfect
How did you install that patch? Patch broke the launch of the race and didn't make the resolution 1920x1080 for me
@@user-gv9dg4ni5g just followed the instructions on the readme file. My laptop goes only to 1366x768, so I can't really say about 1080p.
@@hf7188 i found solution. In aspect ratio instead "Aspect correction" must be "Entire screen (Default)"
But I have another problem. After finishing a mission I can't get out of it. After pressing the space bar, I view the replay. And no other way I can go to the menu to start a new mission.

Hello Atanas. I will be installing NFS Porsche Unleashed and your patch is very soon. I'm wondering whether or not I will be able to use an Xbox controller to control the game. My true preference would be to use my Logitech G29 steering wheel, pedals, and shifter setup, but I am not holding out much hopes since that system does not work with quite a few other racing games. A dream could come true for me would be able to use my G29 racing wheel and pedals. That's how I used to play a game with my sons over 20 years ago. I would appreciate your comments and advice. You are awesome and I are to be amended for the work you do for the racing community.
Sadly, does not work at all. Crashes after the intro movies and first splash screen. I tried different things, but it's always the same.
I'm not sure if you caught the issue i was having but my corsair watercooler would cause the game to crash. I had to unplug the sensor from the USB plug
can i use the same patch to access downloadable cars only? l

i installed it on windows 7 but the game doesn't start when i press play
the game appears to run fine except that it will not store my progress. Hitting space bar to proceed after a successful driver run does nothing. game keeps going back to first driver challenge. Thoughts? Looks like my driver profiles are saved in savedata folder. Just not being loaded apparently? Thanks for any suggestions.
The savedata folder probably is set to read-only mode, find it and right click it and then un-tick read-only mode if it's enabled, and set the folder permissions so that all users can have full access to it.
I have windows 11. I wonder if these fixes will work on 11 as well? What controller do you use? I have this game on a older computer and it runs like a champ and i use the old Microsoft sidewinder for a controller which works great.
I'm not sure. I haven't had the opportunity to try this with windows 11 yet. I use mouse/keyboard.

Got any patch that adds the music back into the game? I'm using a windows emulator on my phone and I downloaded the game from a website called old games I think it's called? It runs good well, yes but there's no music
Hello, My guess is the version you found doesnt have the music to save space. You'll need to find a different version.

I get to the 99% loading bar like you at 1:43, then setup.exe just closes. Any idea?
In the beginning part of the video I show how to check if there's something blocking the installer, i'd pull that up and see if there's something else closing the installer.

I have to close asus_framework.exe via wait chain four times, then the setup window opens and stays at 0%. When I shut down the exe two more times, it jumps to 99% and there's nothing in the wait chain. Then the setup.exe closes after about 40 seconds.
You have a short clip of driving in the alps track of this game but it's modded or map loaded into another game , is that a work in progress ? I have always wanted a remastered version of this game but with same locations like in original , can you tell me how you did that ?
The Alps track was for Assetto Corsa. it's kind of on hold for the moment since Assetto Corsa 2 is coming out in a year or two but the goal is to eventually rebuild these classic assets to modern games..
@Triple88a that's awesome , really good work with that map though , would love to play all these tracks in assetto corsa , this game was way ahead of it's time , despite the textures being poor at the time , they did some fine work with mapping the locations , best of luck with your project
When I start a race my game is very lagged... any tips to help? I have a good pc and done every step....
For some reason, the game run better on my "worst second monitor" and If help anyone here, on Need Fors Speed: Porsche Unleashed Patch here the config:
OpenGl 3 generic PnP Monitor and on configure exclusive mode check screen resolution by desktop aspect ratio preserve original color depth 32 bpp refresh rate 75hz (because this is the refresh ratio frrom the monitor) vert. synchronazation on gamma correction 1.0 and depth buffer 32bpp and in more option the same from the OP/Video.
I'll try later if I just use one and my main monitor.

My game crashes after splash screen, I tried everything possible. With all the tutorials on youtube. What should I do?
On mine i have a corsair water cooler.. keeping the USB sensors plugged in caused the game to crash because of the drivers for those sensors. I am guessing you have a similar issue.
SAME ISSUE... Tried everything online and spent 15+ hours trying to get this to work. What really sucks is i actually did get it to work PERFECTLY with Veroks nfs_pu_patch_1.06 using the config.exe but then the next day it started crashing whenever i entered a race (no matter the track)
Just tried this guide with a fresh install and it just crashes at the first loading screen.
BRO i will DONATE if someone can help me get this working. I was able to play with my logitech g27 and it was fantastic, what a tease.
I should add that im playing on a 49in samsung super ultrawide

Hey there, unfortunately that's part of classic gaming. It's very finicky. I've never tried on NFSPU but running the game as windowed mode might allow you to "tab out"

Very nice tutorial! I followed your every single step. I installed the first Patch and Everything worked perfectly fine. Game ran Smootly ! Sfter I applied the 2nd patch The game crashed after the loading Spash window. I uninstall everything, I deleted even the keys from the registry and everything... I presume. make a fresh reinstal, added the pirst pach following every step.. But the game is keep crashing after the Loading Spasj window. My advice, If the game run smoothly after you install the first Patch... just stop there.. However... Any advice to make the game run again? Thank you so much !
Try uninstalling the patches installed in the 2nd patch.

Mine did as well.. I had to unplug the usb on my corsair water cooler. I suspect it's something similar to yours as well.
@@Triple88a Yea... I don't have a water cooler, and I have no idea why a USB slot would be blocking something on the harddrive from booting neither
@@addrenry784 the issue is the input is read as a hid device. the game doesnt do well with unknown hid devices.
so how do i trouble-shoot which input(s) block the game without disabling things i need :/ @@Triple88a
@@Triple88aso how would i go about troubleshooting this problem - i can't just disable USB slots permanently - they're plugged in for a reason i need them for other stuff. i need at least mouse+keyboard to play it, both of which are USB slot users - how do i temporarily stop the USB slot - is it simply removing stuff from the usb hub or do i need to do something to the hub itself?

I have some serious lag in the controller menu. If I switch to graphics its fixed.
