I live just 24 miles from Branson Missouri, it’s really fun, but by the looks of it, Gatlinburg puts it to shame!! That last ski lift and light show was something else!! Absolutely beautiful!!
I’ve been to both places and they both have their pros and cons. Gatlinburg is more of a shopping destination and Branson is more of a show destination.
I used to go Gatlinburg with my family every year for my birthday before Covid. Seeing it is so nice

We went to Astra Lumina. It was amazing. We got a membership to Anakeesta. Will be going back the end of Jan for a week just to chill. We only live about 3 hrs away in Chattanooga.

At 25:50 you mentioned the house below the skylift, and I remember my last time there, one of the houses below was covered with coins that people had thrown down on it. We were wondering if the owners get out and sweep their roof to make some extra income.
They should put a big wishing well inside of a bigger bullseye in their yard.

My wife read an article today that Ober Gatlinburg has been sold to a Sevier Co. resident. Heard it was the owner of the Ole Smokey Distillery. It will be rebranded as Ober Mountain.

Honestly. Gatlinburg reminds me of an ocean boardwalk in the mountains and for that reason I'm not a huge fan. However, Anakista is winning me over. Love that light show!
Years ago it was beautiful and unique. Tourism has sadly ruined it. It’s overbuilt, over cheesy, and just a crowded mess.

Yay, I am so glad you checked out the Monterey Aquarium, that place is amazing. We were in the month of April, and there were tons of sea lions on the rocks along with those otters. The weather is nice in April there. If I were you, I would go east and get out California with all the rain , floods and next mudslides go to Vegas

I think Gatlinburg should keep a lot of the Originals 😢 That’s what makes Gatlinburg what it is Change isn’t always a Good Thing you are taking away the Old Gatlinburg everyone fell in love with.
I think they need to slow down replacing old with new and use other areas around to build new in Gatlinburg and stop destroying the original Strip make another strip of new.

Tn Cider Company is owned by Ole Smoky Moonshine. The owner also just bought as one of the investors that purchased Ober Gatlinburg and they just renamed it Ober Mountain and are giving it a big facelift soon.
