    I’m currently in my first IVF cycle I’m 38 years old I had 11 eggs taken out. 9 were mature. 4 embryos were made. 3 embryos made it to day 5. Only 2 embryos came out chromosomal normal after PGT-A Testing and June 5th is my transfer day.

    I did ivf last month. I got 13 eggs and after 1 day the doctor announced that 6 embryos had been created. I was very happy but on days 6 I received notification that there were no embryos. I was shocked and cried a lot. I want to have children but I have no money left

    Wouldn’t PGT-A already cover PGT-SR since it is already looking for the correct genetic coding and arrangement? Or would you have to do both tests on the embryos if one parent does come back with the SR Gene?

      @@drlorashahine thank you! can't wait to see it! i've seen so many names of medications being thrown around. it would be so helpful to hear about all of them before going for consultation so i can understand exactly what's being suggested and what results it's likely to produce because i've heard different clinics suggest different approaches and have no idea how to compare them. i think lots of people will find that information useful i haven't seen anyone go through them all together in a video and all the drug names i'm unfamiliar with make it sound so complicated and mysterious. it's so much easier to digest information when someone is explaining it clearly than seeing it written down! ❤

    Very well explained, thank you so much! My husband and I lost our son in the Nicu 2 days after being born. His autopsy showed neonatal homochromatosis due to GALD so we got genetic screening done on us and turned out we both carry the gene of NH. We are planning on doing IVF with pgta testing hoping we can have a successful birth.

    Hi. I have a robertsonian balanced translocation 13, 14 and i am 32 years old.
    I had no issues with conception, from the first try i got pregnant. Unfortunately it ended up with down syndrome and me and my husband decided to go for abortion. My question is should i try naturally again, or should i go IVF with PGT? What are the chances of having a healthy baby if i choose to go the natural way?

    Which genetic testing should you advise us, if one of us has a balanced reciprocal translocation? My fertility center decide to do Pgt-A. But I am not sure, maybe we need Pgt-SR. By the way there is no genetic disease in our family.

    This is so interesting it’s blowing my mind 🤯🤯 reproduction is amazing. Would a balanced translocation if you dont have a miscarriage pass down genetically to the child? And if you find it can you correct that embryo? Or you just don’t put that one in and wait for one that doesn’t have it?

    • @drlorashahine
      @drlorashahine  Před rokem +1

      Parents can pass balanced translocations on to children - remember it increases risk of miscarriage but doesn’t mean all pregnancies affected❤️

    • @drlorashahine
      @drlorashahine  Před 10 měsíci +7

      Some people with eggs do not identify as women and some people with sperm do not identify as men. I do say men and women for time to time but trying to be inclusive, respectful.
