Pre-pooing is suuuuper clutch! And depending on the shampoo I use it serves as an extra layer to prevent my hair from feeling dry if I don't use a moisturizing shampoo initially....my hair also loves camomile oil for moisture & kokum butter as a sealant❤
@tinawilliams6510 when you put a product like aloe Vera or conditioner or sometimes oils like coconut oil and allow it to sit on the hair, with a plastic cap and allow it to penitrate your hair shaft then you wash it normally. You can usually detailed better and add moisture to your hair before any shampoo is added to remove some of the natural oils. It helps a lot.
Ok here are the reasons: 1. Some of us (Me)are allergic and sensitised to raw oils and butters on our scalp. 2. Some of us ( me in the past) use too much of the oils, butters and grease so it blocks our follicles and our strands from receiving moisture. 3, Some of us (not me) use conditioner with no surfactants to wash our hair once a month, which will not remove a month's worth of oil, butters, grease or silicone or styling products. you only need a small amount of sealant on the ends....a fingertip amount?...and you should use a surfactant shampoo every 5-10 days.
Honestly I lack knowledge for natural hair care because I grew up getting a press then moving to relaxers. I struggle with selecting the products that work for my hair type 4b/4c? Then I used hair oils for years after going natural. Now I have learned that it was not really moisturizing my hair. I think the problem was not enough water being added to my hair to moisturize my entire scalp and hair. Now I am testing products like aloe Vera, rose water, castor oil, tea tree oil, almond oil, argon oil, moisturizing creams. 🧐
You went on the same hair journey as me and have the same hair type. Everything you named works for me. We need daily rinsing and adding oils back on For me shea butter (yellow kind) and aloe Vera juice are game changing for my hair and when you get a water or shower filter for your hair your hair will be softer and mosuterized longer
I love how your focus is always about hair care. I now do an acid rinse after I condition my hair and that changed so much for me. I feel like I'm taking better care of my hair than I ever have, but not working nearly as hard as in the past. Let me go on ahead and get these cards, but when are you starting your hair care line???
So my problem is I need to know how to seal/protect without oils and butters. I have seborrheic dermatitis. My scalp cant handle any oils or butters without being inflamed (itchy, large flakes etc)
As often as you need to keep it hydrated. You can usually feel and see when you start to lose moisture. If it's in protective styles, it may retain moisture longer.
I do all of these things, and yet I have had to chop off all my 13yrs growth as my hair just went off the radar with dryness and was moving like tumbleweeds on my head.
Did you moisturise your hair daily? Did you shampoo and deep condition weekly? Did you get your professional straight trims every 6-16 weeks? Are you on any medication or experiencing any hormonal changes? After age 35, our hair requires even more care than before and I know many women with postpartum so bad that their hair never returned to normal.
@@marleyhill34 I did all the things. I experienced most of the things. It was just too far gone, so it got gone weeks ago now. Learning my new shortness.
I experienced COVID that lasted around 12 days. I thought I was ok until I started to lose more hair than usual. Following some research, I am realizing it’s from the stress my body went through during that time and also the shampoo that I was using. So I began doing meditation, yoga daily and changed my shampoo and conditioner to littleextraa cooconion anti hair fall kit. And now I don't face any hairfall. Thank you for this video! I'm feeling so much more at peace.
U were little so ur age played a huge factor as well. There's a difference in haircare, growth etc.. for a 5/10/15 yr old vs a 40/50 yr old, age matters.
Think about age and your diet totally different no stress most of our hairstyles were low maintenance some ppl are going back to grease but you have to figure out what works for you
Blue Magic is a great sealant to lock in moisture plus it conditions the hair and makes it soft. I also pre poo and do a deep conditioner once a month. Leave in conditioner is also good. Keep growing that beautiful hair, I know it's thick🎉🎉🎉
@CurlyChemistry: I'm seeing more and more hair products with hyaluronic acid. Is this ingredient safe and/or good for ethnic hair types? I believe mine is 3C, and I'm vegan, which often makes finding products with popular ingredients challenging. I just stumbled across this short, while searching the same subject that I posed to you. 'Kind of in a hurry, right now, but I'll check your page out later, and I hope I can find out your hair and skin routine. Healthy is convincing!
You can use what works best for your hair. In her video, she mentions using an oil to prepoo your hair the night before washing it; wash your hair as usual, add your conditioner n rinse it out; deep condition or use a mask treatment or hot oil treatment, rinse it out; seal your moisture in either using the LOC method or LCO method or LLOG method or this PMP method in her video . I personally use the LOC method on my hair and the LLOG method on my grandson’s hair. It really works well! In another video she made (see her youtube page) she use the Leave In moisturizer mix with blue magic as a sealant at least twice a week n a protective style. That’s what I do also.
Thank you for sharing this information. Can you recommend styling tools and materials to use while sleeping? I would hate for someone to use this method only to not retain the moisture because they lost it while sleeping or styling.
My daughter’s hair is just like yours and is literally so dry. Curls gone from how dry it is. What do I do? She’s just 8. My hair is straight so idk what to do
Try s scurl instead of pink moisturizer or look for moisturizers that have water as the first ingredient. The first few ingredients are the main ingredients..Seal with a butter like shea butter! My hair hates coconut oil I mixed several oils but I may switch to the creams and butters…Hope this helps😊
Sometimes when I put oil on my hair after I’ve moisturized, the oil just sits on my hair and isn’t absorbed. How can I get the oils to absorb into my hair?
It all about moisture and protein, and deep conditioning consistently. you can do diy like egg, conditioner and honey, you can add things like banana, avacado, amla and moringa powder to make it more potent. Use a tea rinse for any hair shedding. Get a good leave in conditioner that works for your hair and Use oils to seal in moisture after. Be really gentle with your hair detangle from bottom to the top. Use warmer water to open the cuticle when you first go in and after your done cold water to shut the cuticle and that keeps tht moisture in.
If your hair absorbs water quickly but also dries out quickly, then you are high porosity. This means that your cuticles are lifted, which allows water to slide in and out of your hair easily. To combat this, use medium to thick creams and butters to coat the cuticles to provide moisture. If it takes a while for water to fully soak your hair and a long time to dry, then you have low porosity hair. This just means that your cuticles lay flat, and you have no problem retaining moisture after a good and thorough wash day. It is best to stick with lighter oils and creams or sprays to retain moisture.
To me its preparing your hair before you wash it that can be like using a hot oil treatment or mask before shampooing. It brings back moisture and makes it easier to detangle
No we're not because she simply here to give some solid advice but the headband prevents us from seeing if it is just a wig and she has a protective style in underneath, no one told you that was her actual hair including her.😅
It's something that i came to appreciate doing BEFORE 'professionals' embraced it. So, i would do a scalp treatment with an exfoliating agent (ie: medicated shampoo); then plastic cap for an hour or so ~ before i shampoo & conditioned. STAY TEACHABLE, not critical. 🤗

Something you add to your hair before shampooing to make detangling easy as well as to help your strands not be stripped when you eventually shampoo.

Creme of Nature mango leave in 2 times a week. Refresh it throughout the week by misting it with water. Wash your hair every 2-4 weeks, and repeat. 😅
Does anyone know if wearing a plastic cap when i'm around the house will help to add moisture?
Sometimes when I put oil on my hair after I’ve moisturized, the oil just sits on my hair and isn’t absorbed. How can I get the oils to absorb into my hair?
You can use a heating cap or a regular shower cap to lift the cuticles of your hair strands.
In addition, u should made hair and scalp damp before any application of oil by spraying water or any hair tea
Any creams and butter recommendations for high porosity?
Creme of Nature mango leave in conditioner
• Tgin daily moisturizing buttercream
• As I am double butter cream
• Camille Rose BCO buttercream
