The only thing I'm concerned about is the steel. Not sure the edge retention is good enough.

They should really fix their tang design before getting into tool steels. And they shouldn't use D2 for any blade larger than this one. Even this one would be quite large for that type of steel. From the looks of the handle this is really not suited for D2 if your intend is chopping into wood or something similar. For decoration and showing off type of stuff D2 is just not worth it.
If your intend would be to actually use it for the purpose a dagger would be used for this would be fine, even with stainless, but i really hope that's is not what you want to do with such blades.
Sorry but this to me looks just like another honshu wall hanger type of blade.

Is it double edged or does it have a false edge on one side?

I’ve read that double edged knives are illegal in certain circumstances such as type, size and state. More than likely it has a false side but you can always put an edge on it yourself
