- Engineering Technician (Marine Engineering) Kai Hitchcock, at just 18 years old, is proving his mettle as the youngest sailor aboard HMS Biter during Exercise Tamber Shield in Norway.
HMS Biter is one of four of the UK's smallest warships, alongside HMS Blazer, HMS Trumpeter and HMS Exploit.
Exercise Tamber Shield marks ETME Hitchcock's first deployment with the Royal Navy, and he's already handling significant responsibilities with aplomb.

The caption says the stoker is aboard HMS Biter...The ship pictured at the start of the video has a pennant number of P167. P167 is NOT HMS Biter....it's HMS Exploit. HMS Biter's pennant number is P270.

Logically, that would go to the Batch 2 River Class; HMS Forth, Medway, Trent, Tamar, and Spey. ;)

Nice little video of the little boat. Seriously RN get these excellent sailors some larger boats. They shouldn’t have to work and live like that. It’s going get seriously cramped in that thing in rough weather.
From what I've heard, the guys who sail P2000's who aren't URNU absolutely love them, because it's a small family and everyone does a bit of everything. So it's a bit of an eye opener.
From my understanding bigger boats tend to not really give more personal space, everyone is still living ontop of each other as the crew compliment expands at a faster/equal rate than the quarters size grows on most ships.
Better to have a small tight nit group that gets along than a much larger one were working out issues is so much harder. You also tend to have a bit more freedom on a smaller boat than a larger ship, fewer senior officers and the few that there are here also all muck in on the tasks like cooking, builds better comadare.
@anthonywarwick6090 Ask any matelot that has served on big ships and small ships.... 99% of them prefer small ships.

They can be fitted with a 20mm-30mm as needed but generally their main role is harbour patrol, special operations insertion and training
