Video claims to use Hive Carbon because it's classier, proceeds to make the same Jerry Seinfeld Bee Movie joke constantly.
The classier version allowed him to do so
If you can't place your tile next to your opponent's tiles, how do you surround their bee? What am I missing? Thanks.
You can move any bugs next to opponents tiles. You cannot place them next to opponent tiles when they are first added to the hive. (Aside from the first turn.)
Came to ask the same question haha
yea this video did not explain that very well. like 20 seconds later he then moves the ant around the opponents pieces with no mention of that previous "rule"
Thanks for the guide 👍
Thank you!
Looks real cool
Whats the difference between Hive and Hive pocket?
Size only
Hive pocket has more pieces
I thought there was a rule that the queen can’t be the first placed piece
Supposedly something added in for competitive play to prevent draws. The creator of the game supposedly supports that rule.
Don't trust me though. I know little of the game.
Hi there,
What happens if both opponents bees are covered by a beetle and surrounded fully by other bugs. It would get to the point where no one could move at all? Is their rules to prevent this?
I guess one of the Queen bees has to be surrounded first. Therefore they lose.
The queen that gets surrounded first loses, if it happens in the same move it is a draw
A chess player definitely made this…. So I’m guessing a chess playing Biology major 😂
Much more successful than the Checkers Chemistry major.
just lists the rules, no strategy or tactics mentioned
These are the games I like. Games that boil down to a win/loss condition. Always felt that victory points are a lazy way to do game design and they hurt the overall experience in the long run.

You should've made it clear that you are only allowed to start moving your insects after you have placed your Queen Bee.
He did
@@johnspence8141 hmm yeah weird. Maybe i switched around a video were it wasnt mate clear. (had watched 1 or 2 more about hive).
That doesn't tell me how to play. It explains the rules, but doesn't demonstrate any strategy. Where can I find a video for that?
Just play, or use google.
You think capablanca or tal had yt videos to tell then how to play chess?
Most people understand that teaching someone "How to play" is the same as teaching them the rules.
@@Swejster teaching strategy is “how to play well”
@@ilovepudding7873 yes 😊
@@Swejster it can also be worded as “how to not suck”
Depends on the audience
Why include "false" instructions? Stopped watching after intro. Not interested in false instructions.
That's just a tongue-in-cheek warning in case we got anything wrong as fallible human beings. I assure you, the rules presented are correct to the best of our knowledge.
