While not all build projects are going to appeal to everyone, Shop tours are kind of like shop projects, it's always nice to see how other people do what they do, and how you might adapt it to your workflow

Hey thanks for featuring my shop! Wish I put more effort into cleaning and setting up my shots!
You mentioned that festool systainer and mentioned that even though I have a lot of budget tools, you can’t find alternatives for some things! That’s why I ended up getting a sawstop, a drum sander, and the infamous domino! Just can’t do some things cheaply.

I work in a professional cabinet shop and believe me it gets messy. We do take time to clean but getting into every nook and cranny is hard, not to mention the sanding dust from the day to day work. Keep on with what you are doing. If you aren't making a mess you aren't woodworking. I like to think that a clean shop is a happy shop. Having said that saw dust and wood chips are gonna a way to accumulate no matter how much you clean

My shop is an 8ft wide x 40ft long rail car cargo container. I cut windows and a door in it. I insulated it with 1" foam sheeting and furred it with flat 2x4s and lined the walls with pallet boards. I have a table saw, band saw, router table, lathe, and a mortiser. It's pretty narrow. I put everything on rolling bases and shift stuff around during use. The back half has my work bench and all my hand tools. I use my table saw a lot but mainly I use hand tools. The height is 9 ft so I compensate by storing stuff on shelves up above me. I've built lots of furniture and cabinets in that little tiny space. I can work in the heat of summer with just a small fan and during a cold winter with a small space heater.

So shop tours are great to watch to get an idea of better flow for my shop. I do also restore furniture. So I have about a 10x10 space with a removable paint booth/finishing room in it. It's spring loaded telescoping poles that hold plastic to the ceiling that creates a wall. I think it could be a great solution for someone who shares a shop with a car (disgraceful... LOL... JK). It would work great to keep dust out of the rest of the garage.
