Good video. It’s definitely important when you are grappling with more experienced people who are better at sprawling at your shots.

Just found your channel. Amazing video here, so much to dissect on just front headlock alone. Subbed. As a southpaw fledging amateur MMA fighter I appreciate the right foot forward content! - Watching back all the old stuff too. Quality

Love from the UK ❤️. The videos really help learn wrestling especially in the UK where wrestling isn't that big. I think a wrestling throws instructional (e.g. with some greco techniques) would be great - are you thinking of doing one?

Thank you for responding my instagram comment to make this shot recovery video! This definitely helps me teach a different way and points to my team. Can you please do another video on body mechanics mistakes on poor set ups to lead to poor shots and bottom wrestling hand controls and on your belly to base drills? I know Jeff Jordan has some good videos on it especially mistakes on head inside single and defend tight waist tilt

Ive been training bjj since 2018 and always trying to improve my wrestling. This got me thinking of a conceptual path. Would it makes sense to build a counter front headlock game? Let me opponent make contact and counter or if they dont take the bait i could switch off to my own offense. I'm going try it out awhile and see how it works

  • @BURGAWMMA

leg shots are wildly overused in wrestling largely because you can hold on for a stalemate stand-up once you're down there if you fail to get any traction... this is suicide in MMA or street self-defense because there's no referee to bail you out... if your training for MMA or self-defense leg shots should be a relatively small portion of your game and only reserve for when you have a perfect opportunity to bowl them over or their exhausted and literally easy pickings. Leg snatches High crotches and kneeblocks are much better attack options when getting stuck under your opponent is critically dangerous. Especially because American wrestlers don't understand hip lift roll thrus do they often get turned when diving in for a takedown... it's likely folkstyle wrestling biggest liability in international competition

You think leg attacks aren’t effective in world or Olympic competition?

@@ironfaithwrestlingdon’t listen to this guy. He has a bunch of delusions about being the founder of American MMA. He can often be found on various FaceBook BJJ forums making a complete fool of himself. He goes by the screen name Hilo Haole there. I didn’t recognize his screen name on YT when I read the comment but I immediately suspected it was him and then clicked his profile and immediately started laughing that I ran into him here too.
FYI, just found your content yesterday and have already found some really great stuff to work on with my youth wrestler in the off season! Great stuff.

      A) there is a referee in MMA
      B) leg attacks work great in street fights because untrained people dont understand how to defend them
      C) a high crotch is a leg attack, you doughnut
      D) every half decent MMA coach will tell you that throws are situational and need to be given. Meanwhile leg attacks can be forced by your skill.
Don't be a goofy goober. Get out there and train before giving advice to a coach on his CZcams channel
