Chicken Little is perhaps Disney's most mean-spirited movie to date, and still rightly considered among the worst Disney films of all time.
While the film certainly paved the way for the eventual great success that Disney would have with CGI-animated movies, there were a myriad of issues that made the film a miss for critics of the time.
From the unappealing character designs to the pop culture-focused humor to unlikeable characters, Chicken Little quickly became one of Disney's most infamous releases among critics.
While the film certainly has its defenders, it also equally has as many people who consider the film to be the worst film that Disney has ever created.

The Black Cauldron, The Sword in the Stone, and Home on the Range also have weak heroes. The first two don’t get to do much as characters and the last one is a very poorly discount Kuzco from The Emperor’s New Groove or Cody from Sony’s Surfs Up. Maggie is a fair winning show cow who is supposed to be taken down a peg and learn to accept help from others, like when Grace helps her cover her ears with Lucky Jack’s fur and then Maggie allowing the final blow to be dealt by Grace by tossing her the cowbell. But the structure of the story fails because like Chicken Little, the creators mistake jerkiness for comedy, making another mean spirited film with very rude animals that won’t make audiences feel sorry for them. At least Koda from Brother Bear had good moments and his jerkiness makes sense since children tend to talk long and loud. Only the villain is entertaining, as Alameda Slim has a unique power and villain song. Being a cookie cutter villain isn’t a bad thing, as Disney invented that term with many evil queens, evil uncles, evil magic users, and twist villains, so a combination of two western villains is more original than what Disney usually does. Watch Jambareeqi’s top 5 best and worst Disney villain list to see why he isn’t the worst, but still could’ve been better since he’s only the 5th worst (just helping you in your updated villain ranking).

For me the last good Disney film of the 2000s decade was Treasure Planet, although I will admit Bolt is a guilty pleasure since it low-key mocks Hollywood (especially Disney), Meet the Robinsons has a good message despite most of the film not being really that good, and the only reason I watch Princess and the Frog is to hear Keith David as Dr. Facilier. As much as I love Shrek for its ability to mock classic Disney films while having a fun and surprisingly good message, I feel sad because it was one of the major successes that helped end the era of 2D animation in American cinema, which is why I’m so glad The Boy and the Hero won the Oscar for Best Animated picture. It proves that just because a film is cgi animated doesn’t mean it will be a success if you don’t make it something worth watching. This last year was Disney’s 100th anniversary and Wish was just such a disappointment that even Once upon a Studio doesn’t really save this last year even though they featured films that are forgotten by the modern Disney company.
