Paul, do you believe that airlines will now rethink their boarding policy and practices post COVID? Currently, all carriers should be thoroughly disinfecting the aircraft between each boarding and that will increase turnaround times. Travelers, beware, mvbo31, RN, MSN/MPH.

I know this is old but I wanted to attest to Surf shark. I tried the VPN out since this video came out (3 weeks at this point) and I can't complain. Compared to my old VPN (PIA. which is kind of a PITA) it's excellent. I have gigabit internet and get about 200-300Mb on download which is good enough for torrents and mega downloads. I had to talk with customer service for something (not the service... hadn't had an issue with it) and they were really efficient. I would recommend SurfShark if you're looking for a VPN as I've tried at least 5 of them (PIA, NORD, Vypr, etc) and surfshark so far is the best in my roughly 10 years of using VPN's. Of course I used the code too so I hope you get a couple bucks out of it Paul.
Edited to add that I already saved $40 using this VPN. I bought a game online that costs $60 in the US but connecting to Russia (which PIA doesn't have) I was able to get it for $20. Pretty much paid for itself the first time I used it.

During this pandemic I unsubscribed from many channels, because of their desperate attempt to monetize by behaving irresponsibly. In contrast I now appreciate even more channels like this one: not only did they respect the safety rules, but they proved that they have content in excess, really know their niche, and have a plan B and a plan C for when life might take an unexpected turn. This, my friends, is a sign that a CZcamsr works hard and really cares about content quality. Kudos to you, Paul!

Flew with Jetstar for the first time on 3 occasions when in Oz in March this year and to be honest I was impressed for a budget airline. Flights were all spot on to time, aircraft were in good condition, snacks were acceptable and cost was low. IMHO they are better than most European budget carriers.

01:52 - I’m not sure if anyone else has commented this but there is generally no restrictions on how many and of what quantity you can carry of powders, liquids, aerosols and gels when travelling domestically. If you are carrying a large bottle of aerosol e.g. hair spray they may conduct an explosives test but generally it is allowed.

As ever Paul a brilliant video. Adelaide is one of the Australian cities it's easy to overlook when planning visits. I first visited for work and then realised how lovely it is. As a motor sport nut I always have an attachment to the city for its street races - including F1 in the 80s and early 90s and being a geek walked the whole route during my visit! I have used Jetstar a few times within Australia and also to hop between Auckland or Wellington and Sydney and found every experience to be consistent to yours - right down to the very agreeable chocolate muffin ;-)

This Aussie will never fly with them again - or Tiger. If you're young and carefree and don't care if you fly today or in three days time, go ahead. It's cheap and clean. This old fool on his last trip got an email three hours before an international flight with JQ saying the flight was cancelled and to ring the call centre. I did and they fucking argued with me telling me the flight wasn't cancelled. Incompetence.

I know it's popular to hate on JQ, but to be fair, they're great value. Their fares are almost comparable with European LCCs, which is incredible when you think that they operate much closer to a full service airline, with properly ticketed connecting flights, full access to QF frequent flier earning and redemption, and even a J class (albeit more like premium economy) on their 787s.
The best part is that redeeming QF points on Jetstar is cheaper than on QF, so you can squeeze quite a bit more flying out of your points if travelling is more important to you than brand status.

Well done as always mate and great to see DB looked after you in a lovely part of Australia !! Adelaide Airport is a bit of a shambles after they closed the road to the departure gates and you now have to walk along way to get to the terminal. They claim its for security reasons however ( with due respect to Adelaide) in Sydney and Melbourne you can still drive right up to the terminal ?Go figure !! Many people hate Jetstar as they have a reputation for charging for everything. Pretty good flight though and great to see you are still posting some material !! Thanks again !!

Too true Craig, really odd that they closed the drive and drop space.
I never understood that, surely not for 'security' reasons!

Looking forward to the Indian Pacific trip but i was just wondering, why didn't you both did the Ghan and the Indian Pacific if you were in Adelaide anyways. Take the Ghan north to Darwin (it has a nice small aviation museum) then fly down to Perth and board the Indian Pacific over there to Sydney, That's the way i did 3 years ago. Okay it's is bit more money but you have the absolute best experience ever.

    • @tazzer9
      @tazzer9 Před 4 lety

Price and time are probably the main reasons. The indian pacific and ghan are very expensive train trips. People save for years to do just one of those trips

G’day Paul, thanks for another Good vid. I liked the surprise guest Dennis Bunnik, you’re the 2nd blogger I’ve seen catching a lift with Mr Bunnik. With this Global Pandemic doiminating, it seems very unlikely Tiger Air (partly owned by Virgin Australia) , Jetstar’s competitor in the LCC market, will likely never fly again. So I guess you won’t ever get to experience flying Australia’s cheapest airline..

If you're ever down in Australia again reach out to Qantas, as I know they are very accommodating for content creating enthusiasts. It might be an opportunity to see some 747s before they vanish, as they're still using them for their subsidiary Qantas Freight.

Note: Jetstar Australia's international timetable is a rough guide only, NEVER rely on them if you have a connecting flight. Jetstar have perfected the art of 4hr+ delays and last minute cancellations on international services.

    • @brucehancock5472

@Paul Lucas when the pandemic is over you should try Air Transat. Its a Canadian low-cost/leisure airline that has amenities that are comparable or better than a lot of full fair/flag carriers. They have a decent amount of leg room and inflight entertainment screens mounted on the back of each seat on their aircraft.
