I believe the retirement crisis will get even worse. Many struggle to save due to low wages, rising prices, and exorbitant rents. With homeownership becoming unattainable for middle-class Americans, they may not have a home to rely on for retirement either.

Nearly all London flats right now (and any in the UK) are effectively worthless as a result of the buildingsafetycrisis. Trust us a few million flat owners trapped in these homes aren’t wrong. They are literally certified death traps, many have the same cladding as grenfell (even Barratts newest builds), even the brick developments are missing fire breaks and are full of flammable materials making them unmortgageable once investigated properly.

I lived in Hounslow West for 6 months during my study, the area is not 'a shit hole' as mentioned in the comments. It is near Heathrow but I have never heard the noise from the landing airplanes, there is definitely air pollution because of that but this is valid for most of London's areas. Most of the area is occupied by families, I haven't seen any teenage gangs, smoking weed, or anything dangerous, no homeless people either. It is a safe area. It has a nice shopping street and a shopping center. It is near the office buildings in Brentford - 15 min by bus so it is a great location for those working there. The tube line is Picadilly. I would recommend the area for those who prefer a new build flat on the lower price range and is a good investment for the next 10-15 years.

You will pay extra for parking if there even is any parking, you might say "oh I have the tube", you need a car to get around west London/Middlesex - one tube line will not cover it.....and most importantly loads of these did not sell so you'd have to be concerned about the value

  • @bar10ml44

It’s an absolute disgrace how they refer to this as a two bed when the second bedroom is only a single. The architects who dare throw a few cupboards onto a wall and refer to it as a kitchen are joking. Zero bench space to prepare food and why do they insist on a 2nd bathroom when it’s clearly unnecessary. A couple of small cupboards for storage space. This is unfortunately the standard pushed onto buyers and they accept it.

Housing in New Zealand’s 2 main cities is now more expensive than London. Question: is the furniture included? It is rare to sell property furnished in NZ so ours was vacant possession.

Instantly I noted that the door into the bathroom could have actually opened inwards, if someone walks through the front door BAM! There looked as though enough room in the bathroom for the door to open inwards. then as Matt walked down the hallway , it is rather narrow. I thought that most apartment buildings nowadays were built with wheelchair users in mind . I thought that was a Law ?The phone and camera system, is it digital ?When you went into the lounge |I thought it unusual to have two seperate doors with a window, why not one door and a big window , or bi fold . The kitchen is nice and roomy .I never can understand why when putting in a kitchen , the microwave is not integrated too? yes open plan is good.beautiful bathroom and ensuite .The doors out onto the terrace , not wide enough for wheelchair user and a step up .
Over all , I like the apartment , its clean and white and looks well maintained . I would buy it . but it all depends on what the service charges are and who maintains the building .

This is right next door to Heathrow Airport and right on the glidepath so peaceful relaxation on that terrace on a warm sunny summers day wouldn't be possible. You would have heavy aircraft flying at about 500ft above you. Taking off and landing.

I wish apartments like this were worth nearer £200-250k (ie more affordable). My brother who has lived in London all his life and is on an average London wage, simply cannot afford flats like this due to the crazy high prices. I can hazard a guess that this apartment is a shared ownership option as the decor still looks like a show home. Nice apartment, just wish they were more affordable to people on a regular wage.

No bench space at all in the master en-suite. The makeup station in the master closet leaves you no room to hang clothes for two people. The outdoor space is nice, but realistically it’s raining half the year anyway. I do like the big sofa and the large TV in the lounge.
