There are so many sales of iPhones in India because today people care more about their standard and what people think about them rather than their needs 😊

I wonder man, thinking about what others would think is cringe but increasing their standards isn't bad when we increase our standards we also increase our class like the way we live which ofc includes manners and discipline etc etc. Some Indian still lacks that the class the classic living. If iphones can change it then I don't think it's bad excluding chapriss 😂they are different breed

Why I think this is happening:
    1. OnePlus premium phones used to be priced around 30,000 in 2018-19, but they have since become more expensive. When you can get a OnePlus for around 60,000, why wouldn't you consider an iPhone?
    2. EMI options have become easily accessible in Tier 3-4 cities. In the past, you asked someone else for a credit card, but now all you need is your Aadhaar card to avail EMI options.
    3. You made a valid point about resale value. I purchased a second-hand iPhone 11 in 2020 for 40,000 and sold it in 2022 for around 27,000.
    4. The desire to show off. Earlier, It used to be enough to have the Apple logo, but now people want to show off their three cameras.(hence bought 14 pro )

As a developer, I've worked extensively with different operating systems and from a user perspective, I find Apple phones to be quite overpriced for what they offer. The user experience with iOS feels restrictive compared to the versatility and straightforwardness of Android. It seems many people are swayed by status and marketing to choose iPhones without fully considering the balance of cost, features, and user experience. Upon closer evaluation, it becomes clear that much of Apple's allure is a well-crafted marketing strategy rather than true user-centric innovation.

I think the sales of iPhones increased because of many factors - great buyback offer on the previous year's iPhones, no cost EMI, bank cashback offer, and last but not least, the FOMO factor among the genZ and the millennials. I believe *TIME* is a big factor. Most of the tech savvy young population that were students, were present during the golden smartphone era(when smartphone markets were booming). iPhone was a big goal of many students and young people who at the time could not buy it. iPhone was a status symbol at the time. Slowly as that population aged and started earning more, they are now buying iPhones in huge numbers. This was aided by the move of apple to manufacture base models in India at exactly the right opportunity due to which huge discounts were possible during sales on these iPhones which appealed to this young earning population even more.

Very rare occassion that I wouldn't agree on 90% things said in this video . The gen z as we know them is the main customer of apple in India. They are certainly at a age now where they can buy a iphone or sometimes force their parents to but it to them. Moreover since lockdown the impact of social media like yt and insta has been such that the iPhone really has become a status symbol hence the aspiration of many gen zs which paired with more emi , 0 downpayment and greater availability of iphones. Sales like Flipkart convince a buyer with a 35k budget to try for a 50k iphone but often very few stocks are available and prices soon go up to like 55k. Thus an average perosn who earlier would have spent 35-40k for his phone now spends 55k excluding case, charger , apple care.

Another reason apart from these is the popularity of Instagram and the trend to make reels. Not only the quality of photos and videos are better, but if you upload on IG through an iPhone, the quality doesn’t drop as much has it does via android and also there are special features only for iPhones.
But EMI is definitely a huge contributing factor. I got my Mac book pro by EMI as I was getting a good deal along with a store discount. Apple surely knows it’s game and they play well. Respect for that.

The main reason i feel about its increasing sale is high increase in budget or other Android companies main series phone prices... which is increased to 30-35k segment now + even best Android makers giving phones at 50k+ ....so it became obvious for people to buy iphone as it became more in range because of other Android companies+ status factor which ofc is there with iphones so people push themselves to pay extra and get some showoff n ois

One missed one major reason is that not only iPhone but all other companies are coming up with 43 to 50k phones and when iPhone is for that same price in sales and etc so all companies together have made people feel that good phone are above 30 to 40k below that u get average phones with minimum features

  • @pkn8707
    @pkn8707 Před 7 měsíci +43

i think we are forgetting, because Android(Google) thought that as the ability of a lot of people are increasing over the years, so they have been increasing the price for a good Android mobile in the 50k - 60k.
I mean Android market boomed in India because it was a affordable phone with the best features a phone can get. Now if everyone have to shell out 60k which is what they can pay for Apple products, then it will for sure go for Iphones.
So it is both - Apple decreasing the price and Android increasing the price. Now Apply has this vicious repair policy and there will be a time when the Indian customers will get fed up with it. Now if Android wants to service then they have to think in terms of Fairphone and give good post-purchase service.

Exactly. My budget for a phone is 30k usually, and in 2021 - when I was in market to buy a phone...there was nothing good in 30k range, in fact 30k was getting called mid range. If I had shelled another 20k, I could have bought a iPhone 12 in big billion day. But I stuck to Android - bought Moto Edge 20 pro...it's decent, but definitely not the best.. ..so since people want good phone and have to shell 50k minimum...why not spend more and Buy iPhone on EMI. ..it lasts longer and had decent resale value too ..

The visuals weren't very eye-catching, and the frequent changes in camera angles every two seconds made it a bit dizzying to watch. I recently bought an iPhone 14, initially, I was considering an S23 but to my surprise, it was more expensive than the iPhone. I've been using the OP7 for over 4 years now (I bought it in June 2019). It's still working fine, apart from the obvious battery degradation. I removed the tempered glass protection 2 years ago and the case last year. I've dropped it 5-6 times since then, but it never broke. It's built like a Nokia 1100. lmao. I'll probably continue using it till the battery capacity falls below 50% of the rated capacity because I don't think the phone will ever let me down performance-wise. Although, It'd have been wise to sell it in early 2021 as I was getting 20k for it (I think I bought it for 34k) and continue that 1-2 years cycle. But I don't like changing my phone and usually keep using it until it breaks or I feel the phone has slowed down by 15-20%.

One basic question, if we are assembly in India then why are iphones costlier than most of the other countries.

I've seen people struggling with 64gb, smaller screen . Slowing software, low battery life, but they won't switch to Android nor can they afford recent iphones

I bought my first iPhone to show off and of course for a good camera, but now the story is different it is more reliable and has good privacy. We have Android devices in my home google Pixel and Samsung S series (7,9) but their privacy is too bad. We faced some situations like we are talking about house shifting. Suddenly we started getting calls from packers and movers 🙃🙃. It happened in Google Pixel and similar cases on Iqoo. So we decided not to buy Android.

iPhones are “top selling” phones because Apple only has a few phones in their lineup. Other companies have multiple phones in their lineup, so the sales numbers get divided into the many models that the company has. So in that case, not one single model is “top selling”.
