    One of the most usual Greek lifts you’ll found out there, very nice video!

    Amazing video and amazing lift! Would love to see that selector for a little longer - it looks like the same style as Schindler with the roller switches that get positioned on or off as the wheel goes around.

    Awesome elevator! Love those vintage buttons, retro cab, green indicators (like Sabiem style) and the floor selector!

    Looks like a 60's Schindler selector wheel which identifies the position of the lift!

      Also IFMA used the selector wheel. IFMA is the brand of licensed Schindler-technology elevators in Romania.

    Wow, that looks really grotty and dodgy! Just look at the wiring and rusty handwheel. You'd be wondering how well this lift is maintained, it looks so grotty. I'm suprised that it is a two speed motor, I had expected it to be a single speed job. The controller looks suprisingly simple considering the controller has memory and even changes direction once it has completed it's call sequence. That floor selector looks very shindler like. Interresting....

    • @HeritageElevators
      @HeritageElevators  Před 8 lety +5

      Yes i thought the exact same thing! "Where's the rest of that controller?" Full memory with change of direction, yet still so simple and minmal. Very interesting indeed. I spotted components from Italy, Japan and Korea aswell as the brands Pilux and Ringels i don't know where come from

      @dykodesigns Před 8 lety +4

      +Heritage Elevators Wow, they seem to have cobbled it together from all sorts of parts they saw fit. Must probably a generic build. But that controller is so suprising in it's simplicity.

    • @thegreekelevators539
      @thegreekelevators539 Před 8 lety +3

      Very typical, most elevators I see in apartments building have buttons and indicators like this. Most original lifts are from Greek companies.

    this elevator reminds me a lot of the one filmed by Jan Lager in an East German building installed in 1969. were they made by the same company or is it just a coincidence?

    Here's a question - does it have a governor? Is it part of the floor selector assembly, or not directly visible? Or no safety perhaps? :O

    • @upanddownadventures
      @upanddownadventures Před 7 lety +2

      I have heard that some slower speed elevators (at least older ones) in the UK (and possibly other countries, but maybe not the United States) don't always have a governor. However, they do have a safety for if the cables snap (it may work on rope tension like the original Otis safety, though it may be a different design).

    • @joshuawhawcroft
      @joshuawhawcroft Před 7 lety

      Ahh, that makes some sense. Thanks!

    • @mrmattandmrchay
      @mrmattandmrchay Před 7 lety +1

      Yep, ones that I've seen have a rope which goes from the counter weight, over a separate wheel then attaches to the lift car brakes. So, when the lift is moving the rope doesn't really do much - it just travels with the lift. But if the car were to fall, then this separate rope would pull the brakes on. I have a couple of videos of mine which show this, let me know if you want me to find them.

    • @upanddownadventures
      @upanddownadventures Před 7 lety

      Is this system only used on governorless elevators?

    • @mrmattandmrchay
      @mrmattandmrchay Před 7 lety

      But it's probably been thought that, on certain lifts there isn't a realistic possibility that the lift could go too fast, therefore an overspeed governor is not required. Not sure whether you could get away with one with today's regs.
