      The traction engine is mainly a British vehicle, it was never built in the US.

    What is the winch for?

      Harriman Fox they used to use two engines to plough fields. They'd winch the plough from one side to the other using one to winch the plough and pull out the other winch. Once they reached the end of a run they'd reposition the plough and whistle to signal to the other engine to pull it back.

      The correct answer to your question is 16 nhp. This is not a figure measured on a dynamometer but calculated from cylinder displacements.
